Charity's Closet is a gold mine of a discovery. Gently used clothing in good or better condition, with many garments priced from $5 to $15 each. There actually are two stores here; one handles slightly more upscale items for around $25 each. Especially for people perhaps losing weight and in an intermediate size, the price is right! Sizes are marked but definitely try things on, as they can be mismarked. Plenty of changing rooms exist, the staff is helpful and on Saturdays, donations of clothing are accepted. read more

What a great store! I believe this charity shop is run completely by volunteers. Everything in the store is just $5.00! They have evening/prom dresses for $5.00! Not everything is upscale resale, but you may find stuff from Talbots or The White House/Black Market. They have a nice selection of purses and shoes. I bought a pair of hardly worn Naturalizer heels for yes, $5.00. The shop is 90% for women, with a wall of men's clothes. The worker told me a complete store for men will be opening up soon next door called Phil's Closet. (As in philanthropy) All proceeds from both stores benefit a charity called Success in Style to help men and women with outfitting themselves to dress for success in their careers. It's a win-win for everyone.. I plan to be back, along with those suits I don't wear anymore. read more

I've been a stay at home mom for about a year and I have loved coming to this place about once a month with my baby and my friend looking at the super affordable fancy clothes. The shop ladies have been so nice to my toddler. They have such nice stuff for work and they have a great mission. Helping people go back to work by helping them look great and with their interview skills! Everyone needs that! I did not partake of their services but I sure benefited by osmosis. I'm going back into the workforce so last week I donated all my old ill fitting career clothes and went to Charity's First Picks and got a new/used comfy banana republic blazer which I am so in love with that I will be wearing on my first day. Everything is only $5?!!! Why have I not been here years ago!! For all you new grads that tell me that you are too poor to afford tasteful business attire and want a pass on the dress code, you need to visit Charity's Closet STAT! They have have all of your name brands and styles for suits, shoes, coats and jewelry. Some of us who got too fat or too skinny or for our work clothes donate them here. Proceeds go to Success in Style to help those in need of work appropriate clothing to land that new job. Love their mission. It's better to just try everything on and see what fits. The ladies there are super helpful and very friendly. Be prepared to spend all day. If you donate your wedding dress they will give you a $20 gift certificate. I got 2 pairs of pants and two nice sweaters from this deal. At least I plan on wearing those 4 pieces again...not planning on wearing a wedding dress again thats for sure! Wow! Charity's Closet is now my first stop for all shopping excursions. Not only did I have a great experience but it was sweetened knowing that my purchases were for a worthy cause. I found the perfect dress to wear for my friends wedding. I started my dress shopping adventure fearing the costs, both financial and timely. I decided to give Charity's Closet a try, despite the fact that the last review on Yelp was from 2015. Wow am I glad I did! Historic Savage Mill is a charming place to shop, filled with unique stores. When I walked into Charity's closet I was welcomed by two dedicated volunteers and headed for the dresses. The first dress I pulled out was exactly what I was looking for, simple formal sleeveless red dress. And it fit perfectly! The volunteers then helped me find two maxi dresses, shoes, and jewelry to complete everything I needed for the wedding trip. I got 5 dresses and two neck ties for $25!!! I was so thrilled to find 7 items (including my dress for the wedding) for a quarter of my original dress budget. Can't wait for my next trip to Charity's Closet! read more

What a great place!!! I recently was on the hunt to find a place to donate my wedding dress. Through a google search I came across Charity's Closet. I actually had sent an email the night before to make sure they accept wedding items. I received a friendly and timely response. I must say when I arrived, I was throughly surprised and the store is incredibly cute. When you donate, you actually receive a gift certificate to shop. Such great finds all at great prices! Best thrift store I've ever thrifted at. They're relatively small to other thrift stores you'd imagine, but they've got such a cute selection of clothing, very professional and good quality compared to others. It's like they hand select what out to be put on the racks. I get way more than I bargain for, everything here at the store is $5. EVERYTHING. They have bags, jewelry, shoes, boots, scarfs, belts (all sorts of accessories) jeans, jackets, pants, blouses, etc... They also sell books! Encyclopedia? I'm not sure it's in the men's section and I haven't quite checked it out. Love the atmosphere. The employees are nice and helpful, and the interior design of this place is just the cutest. With fitting rooms, decorative wallpaper, chandeliers, a couch, pink shopping bags, and several mirrors, it doesn't even seem like your average thrift store, it seems more like a boutique. An extremely affordable one. I always walk out here with 2 or 3 bags. They even have this forever deal where if you buy 4 items, total of $20 you get the 5th one free. They accept cash and credit so that's always a plus. :) I really love this place, so glad I found it and so glad that they're in business. They're the best! read more

Supporting a fabulous charity (Success in Style) that has direct and immediate impact. Phil's (next door, for men)is smaller, but the same concept. Plenty of other things little shops and antiques in Savage Mill so its easy to visit regularly. You can't beat the prices and quality is very good. read more
