Every time that I've been there, the place is packed. The interior reminds me of a hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant, much similar to the local shops or known as in Cantonese, "cha chan teng," which you'll find in Hong Kong. When ordering, they provide you with a sheet that has all the food items. All you have to do is put a check mark next to the dishes you want, and flag the waitress/waiter over, and hand it to him/her. I have tried their dim sum, with the selection being limited, but they do offer a bit more on weekends and holidays. The barbecue pork rice was a generous portion and comes with some Chinese greens. The wonton noodle soup is also very good, portion again is generous, and also is served with Chinese greens and scallion. Other items I have also tried include the pan fried beef ho fan, century egg and lean pork congee, and one of the clay pot rices. To sum it all, good food, inexpensive, and large portions that's great for sharing.

+.5 for service…read more Noodle Express, as the name suggests, serves noodles, but also dim sum as well. As other reviews suggest, it's definitely a hole-in-the-wall establishment, and it's reflected by the relatively low prices for this place. My party of 8 tried a wide range of dim sum (some people I was with were having dim sum for the first time), including shrimp dumpling, pork dumpling, beef omasum, sticky rice, curry squid, eggplant, pork noodle rolls, shrimp noodle rolls, and golden dumpling buns. We also had two noodle plates: Singapore Noodle and Beef and Rice Noodle. The noodle rolls were really good, as well as all the dumplings and buns. Everything else was just okay, but for the price I can't really complain. Their curry squids are miniscule in size though, as well as their sticky rice...something to keep in mind if you're considering those two items. Service was excellent. Rushed, but excellent. The employees will attend to only if you wave them down, so don't expect them to just come over. Asian standards here. Nonetheless, Noodle Express does a decent job for dim sum at an excellent price. It won't get the 4-star approval for me as it's a case of "you get what you paid for", but it works for the clientele here.

In short, this place was stellar. Deer + Almond was one of the best dining experiences I've ever…read morehad. It's on the pricier side but if you're looking for a more upscale dinner location that serves incredibly unique food, this would be the place to go. Our server greeted us with with an amazingly relaxed and zen energy. She explained menu to us; essentially, it was a 4 course meal (2 starters/apps, one main, and one dessert). Each person got to choose 4 dishes, and it was recommended that each person chose a different dish so that everyone could share and have a taste of everything, so we did exactly that. They gave us an amuse-bouche, which was a tortilla chip with some veggies and herbs on it. We weren't expecting to get it so it was a nice suprise. There was lots of flavour packed into the tiny cracker, so we knew we were in for a ride. For our first course, we ordered the lavash with onion spread and the shaved dear. Both were stellar (and this is my personal favourite course). The lavash with the spread had an interesting array of flavours and although there was a lot happening it worked really well. The shaved deer was likewise just as good. The herbs and peanut really came through. We then ordered the scallops and the quesadilla. The mushroom quesadilla came in a pocket form, with a mushroom filling. The sauce combination worked really well, and the filling was creamy and well-flavoured. The scallops were fine, though a little disappointing. The pickled rhubarb, although amazing, kind of took attention from the scallops themselves, which was just decent. Our mains were the drunk prik chicken and the ravioli. The chicken was really good, and it was reminiscent of an elevated Chinese fried rice dish. The chicken was cooked perfectly and it was deceptively huge. The ravioli was quite nice as well. The filling was pork filling was great and savoury, though I wasn't a big fan of the braised vegetable. Finally, the dessert came. We ordered the tres leches and the coconut sorbet. The sorbet was really refreshing and I liked how every aspect incorporated the coconut (from the ice cream to the whip). The tres leches cake was next level and is probably my favourite thing I had that day. The cake was moist and sweet, and the tortilla ice cream elevated it. They gave us free chocolates to end our meal, which was again a nice surprise to an amazing dinner. I like how their menu incorporates different cuisines (such as Chinese, Mexican, and Filipino) and they do so in an elevated interesting way. Do keep in mind that this place is more of an upscale dining experience so you may find the 4-course portions lacking, in which case you can order the honey buns which I heard great things about. Overall, this dinner place is amazing and I would highly recommend it!

Our waiter, Andrés el Tico, was super helpful as we worked our way through the menu. The relatively small menu changes with the seasons so I won't bore you with what we had except to say that it was lovely. We shared one tasting menu, plus additional items off the menu ordered a la carte. Some were fabulous, some were interesting, all of them made us think about what we were eating and the layers of flavor and texture. My wife had a cocktail; I had a very nice mocktail. What a lovely evening. D+A is a fairly small space. Make a reservation.
