We scheduled and paid for our round trip fare a day before the trip. Paul was just a few minutes late, but called to let me know he was on my way. He was courteous and took us directly to our destination. We arrived 10 minutes before our appointment. Return trip was an hour later, but due to our doctor being appointment being late; I called Paul and told him to pick us up 30 minutes later. He said no problem and he or another driver would be waiting for us. We were outside the building at 10 minutes before the agreed time, so I called Paul to let him know were outside waiting. He said he was on the way, but would take awhile. Since we changed the time, I said no problem. Then we get a text from Kenny telling us they have no drivers and they would have to refund 1/2 our fare. I texted back that Paul said he was on his way and we had agreed to wait. Kenny texted back he was "oh okay Paul is free now, but way up north". Good thing Paul was going to do the right thing by us. He arrived almost an hour after our agreed upon time, but we got home. Not sure about using this company again, since Kenny was rather cavalier about getting us home. Please realize that each "fare" you take is a living breathing human being that is depending on you to get them where they need to go. Instead of just immediately refunding our money, maybe offer us an alternate time first? read more

Be wary - these guys are dishonest. I cancelled a reservation within 20 minutes of making it after a friend became available to take me to the airport. Someone at their office named Kenny sent me an email back within minutes letting me know they had cancelled the reservation and that I would be refunded. When I returned from vacation two weeks later, the refund had not yet processed, so I emailed Kenny at his company email. Mailtrack (an app for Gmail) indicated that Kenny read the email within the hour. No response. I sent another email the next day. Kenny read it within the hour. No response. To this day, the refund has never been processed. Finally had to dispute the transaction with my credit card company. read more

Long story short they never showed up, never returned my calls, never even got a call to explain the potential mishap, despite being charged for services that I was never received. This is a poorly managed, unreliable, and unethical outfit. From a website that doesn't allow modifications to reservations, to a telephone line that's never answered, to cabs that don't arrive when promised (or at all), to refusal to grant refunds, this is perhaps the worst organization I've ever confronted. The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I can't rate them on their cabs because they never actually came to pick me up. I booked a cab to the airport through their website. Shortly after I received an email saying that my cab ride didn't meet the minimum and that I would have to pay a fee to meet the minimum. I replied to the email immediately saying I would be happy to pay the fee in the morning that it wasn't a problem. No cab ever came. I emailed the company and they told me that they had emailed me saying they canceled my ride- I have all the email traffic. They didn't. Was promised a refund and I have emailed them several times since and still have not received a refund for the cab ride I never received. Absolutely would not recommend. Called and left 3 messages trying to get confirmation since it was a 5:30am pickup. After the third, I left message attempting to cancel the trip. On the way to our event, the cab driver arrived on time. Unfortunately he claimed to know where he was going but got lost and wouldn't take directions. He didn't believe me when I said I was sure of where we were going. At the end of our event we called for a cab and they said 45 minutes. 1h and 30 minutes passed by, nobody picked up the phone and wouldn't return our messages. My husband finally got a hold of someone (almost 2h later at this point) and they said it would be another 30 minutes. We ended up having to call a friend to come and pick us up. I had arranged to be picked up at my hotel to be taken to the airport and the girl that came got there early which was nice. She was very nice and got me to the airport with plenty of time to spare. However, when I flew back in to town a few days later and called for them to pick me up at the airport, I was told that I had to make a reservation to be picked up at the airport. I was not told this when I was dropped off even though I specifically asked if I just needed to call them the day I came back to have them pick me up and they said yes that's fine. So since I didn't have a reservation I ended up having to call several other companies before I found one that could come get me. The other company was actually cheaper so I will probably go with them instead next time I need a cab. read more

They claimed never to have received my e-mail, but oddly enough, they replied to it and confirmed pick up time. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I This driver swerved the whole time and drove in the opposite direction in a ONE WAY STREET. I can't believe this company would hire someone that can't operate a car correctly. ALSO, we responded to the owners and let them know about this horrible experience in a email... their responses showed that they do not care for the customers at all. Instead of taking responsibility like a real business owner does and tries to make the situation better, they sent a long email about why they charge more than other companies. Even though there is absolutely no way you can justify charging people twice the price than their competition when you can't run the business and employees efficiently. This company is terrible. I have used them 5 times - 3 times they have either been: late, texted me they can't pick me up, or left within 5 minutes of my departure time (this is the worst, because they don't tell you they will leave, but when you go outside to look for them and they finally answer the phone, you find out the hard way). They are one of the very few who run early mornings and they know it. They will have multiple people in your cab, without telling you, and still charge you their inflated charges. Justin seems to be the only reliable driver. Uber is cheaper, reliable and accountable. Save yourself the time. read more

We drove with Corey twice on our trip and he was the best. We were a group of 8, which made it difficult to get a cab in Charleston, but Corey and the Charleston Cab Company treated it like it was no problem. The car was very clean and comfortable. On our first ride to Folly Beach, he was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. He then got us quickly and safely to the airport when our flight was canceled so we could catch an earlier flight. After contacting several cab companies trying to get a less than 5 mile ride, and not wait an hour or longer. I Contacted this company. First impression on the phone was very friendly and said he could have someone out to get me in 15 to 20 minutes. Great, I waited patiently and a car pulled up, and I had no idea it was a taxi, no signs or labels, looked like someone's personal car. Not going to lie I was very nervous, however the guy rolled down his passenger window and asked if I was going to the location I requested. I confirmed and got in. Car for the most part was clean, however windows were very dirty to my surprise. The guy was very nice, however he did not speak English very well, and was hard to understand at times. He did tend to swerve and would randomly accelerate at different points, and the speedy limit was just a suggestion, as he rarely did it. I appreciated getting to my location quickly, but doing over 50 in a 30, is very concerning. I had asked the driver at one point what the cost was, and he told me $20. I was completely floored, as that was all the cash I brought, as everything I was told, had been between $10 to $15. When he dropped me off I apologized for not having any extra for tip, he told me really the ride was $18, and he had just rounded it up. Because of this, I would honestly never use this company again, as I felt this was dishonesty, and I don't understand why such a high cost, when the other cabs were so much cheaper. read more

I have never had a problem with this company before until tonight 12/18/14. I work in the bars near market and called requesting a pickup at around 3:25. I was quoted 15 minutes on my first call. After 30 minutes of sitting outside waiting I called them again. The man dispatching said oh man they should have gotten you by now I'm going to call them and figure out where they are and hung up. After another 20 minutes goes by I pull out my phone to call them again and they put me straight to voicemail. now a full hour later I am still sitting outside trying to find another cab at this hour. In comparison to a competing cab company, Charleston Cab Company met our group's needs perfectly this weekend. We generally had 6 people to move at any given time, so the vans were very useful. Driver arrived promptly, friendly service, and called upon arrival to confirm pickup, so we needn't wait outside the apartment in the cold. They honor the $5 flat fee on the Charleston peninsula, but note that the flat fee is only valid for the 1st person. Additional people means surcharges may apply, which are fair. read more

Took CCC after an event witch was paid for by a friend. After being dropped off we received a call from CCC stating no one paid for the cab and the driver was returning to get the money. Great company! Very professional and for my last ride I actually won $40 worth of cab fare from a Facebook contest. They are so much better than their main competitor whose name rhymes with Mellow Tab. They're available when you call them and they have very reasonable prices if you're sharing a cab with multiple drop offs and you're not too far from home. They are very expensive, though, if you're traveling to Isle of Palms from, say, James Island, which is why 4 and not 5 stars. Be aware that they do not use meters because they're technically a limo service, so get the rates up front. read more
