And I can SEE again. From 20-40 in both eyes back to 20-20 and a few letters on the 20-15 line. So yes, I'll have to wear my cheaters still to read up close, but no more squinting just to see. And the best of all? I'll be able to see the golf balls I hit once again it might even improve my golf game. Ha! Nothing ever has before. But I'm gonna give my new eyes a shot. Who knows? Maybe I'll get my first hole-in-one!! If I do I'll be back to let you know.

At my one day check up my vision was where I could see 4 more lines on the chart than 6 months ago. I will have my second eye done in 2 weeks. The colors are clearer and I can see that the light in the room is brighter. I am very grateful. His entire team at the office and surgery center eased my anxiety and were excellent. I was a skeptic but now I am so glad I did it. I look forward to enjoy driving again and feel more confident. I have dry eyes and he found something to help my eyes - Miebo drops and I feel very thankful. I had tried so many things and now because of Dr. Waring, I have hope again! S. Stadler Charleston, SC

It's officially been a month and a half since I had LASIK done and so far, my only regret is that I…read moredidn't get it done sooner. If you've been in Charleston for any length of time you've probably heard of Kerry Solomon. His name is always the one that pops up when mentioning LASIK and from the moment I made the decision that I wanted to get this done, I knew he'd be the one I'd go to. Taking in all the good with the bad, I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone considering LASIK to go ahead and get it done, but I was even surprised at how much goes into this whole process. I'd say the actual surgery was one of the easiest parts of the whole experience. There is a lot of prep and post-op aspects with getting LASIK and Dr. Solomon's office did a very good job of clearly explaining all that goes into this procedure. I won't go into everything involved but just know for a good month, your world will consist of lots of round the clock eye drops, no makeup for a big duration (this may have been the hardest part for me), and wearing my glasses a lot more than I'm used to. I'd say if you're considering getting LASIK, these things should be taken into consideration (especially for us girls who wear makeup) to plan around. I ended up getting my surgery done in August because they were offering a huge discount during that time period ($800 off each eye!). The actual surgery wasn't bad at all. Definitely nerve-wracking but I can't imagine anyone being comfortable when you think of what is actually happening to your eyes. But the whole staff is so great at putting your mind to ease. And the good news is that the surgery goes by really fast! You'll be in the room less than 10 minutes and the actual procedure is about 2 minutes per eye. Then you go home and take a 4-6 hour nap and you wake up to perfect (or near perfect) vision! Truth be told, there have been some not so great aspects I've had to deal with like severe dry eyes and night glare, but these are all normal effects of the procedure and of course nothing that reflects badly on Dr. Solomon. I'm told to give it a solid 3 months to let your eyes heal completely, so that's what I'm going to do. But even taking these into consideration, I'd do it all over again. I still catch myself heading to the bathroom to take out/put in my contacts and then I remember I don't have to anymore. Best feeling!

Although I had this Lasik eye surgery done over a year ago on November 13, 2015 I still remember it…read morelike it was yesterday. I was very scared to get the Lasik surgery. In 2006 I once had a Lasik consultation with the Twin Lasik eye Institute in upstate New York. The surgeon was formerly from Pennsylvania. During that time I wasn't a good enough candidate because they stated quote: your vision is borderline for surgery but not quite enough. At that time I recall I suffered in silence from near sightedness and an acute Astigmatism. Fast forward 10 years later after dilegently trying to build my career and working very hard to make a name for myself this time YES!! I finally was a candidate for the Lasik surgery. When I went in for my 2nd consultation, I was wearing my pretty baby blue contacts and after the lady viewed my perscription she said quote: (funny voice) WHOA!! I can see why you would want to get the Lasik surgery done lol... I chuckled since I knew exactly what I had suffered from nearsightedness, vision impairment since 2nd grade which lead into adulthood spending hundreds of dollars on eye glasses/ contacts. I dared to ask out of curiosity saying what's my vision read? She said 20/700. I about choked when she said that and was in disbelief I didn't relize it was that bad... So I knew that part of remaining healthy was your vision and I didn't want to wear corrective lenses anymore, so I took the brave stance, and schedule the surgery. Leading up to my first day of Lasik surgery I was very, very nervous but they kindly worked with me to calm me down and gave me detailed step by step instructions on what to do to prepare for the Lasik sugery. #1) I had to use these drops that prepared my eyes for surgery dilating them. Then they numbed my eyes and the surgery began. I was wide awake the entire time, I remember some pressure as the clamp stayed strategically on my eye balls and I nervously questioned quote: What if I blink? The surgeon was very professional and calming during my nervous dance stating quote: Don't worry you are secure and the eyes can't move. I was feeling better already when after what seemed like only 5-10 mins they took the lens off and then back on again and I could see. It was alittle bit blurry in the beginning so I had to have a friend drive me home. I rested up one day and the next day I could see like brand new like I had contacts in only they were my own eyes!! My vision was 20/20 it was AMAZING!!! This surgery was by far one of my most expensive and best investments I've done for myself besides buying a car lol. After a mos they had said it improved 20/15 better then gradually it leveled out now last I checked it's around 20/20 -20/25 which is still excellent from how blind I once was. Thankyou Lasik Vision Institute!

I made an appointment with them for an inflammation in my eye and was not seen by the doctor for almost 2 hours after my appointment was scheduled. I also explained to him a concern for a specific blood test due to my family history , and he wrote me a referral for blood work, but didn't include what I had mentioned. Then, when that information got worse i called to make an appointment or see if they could write me a stronger prescription eye drop for my condition. Instead of telling me they couldn't write a prescription without an appointment they had me wait, and wait, and wait for a call back i was told i would get but never came. I called several times, and finally got my answer. So now my condition is worsening and I have wasted time I could've spent making an appointment else where. I have no issue with there not being time for an appointment, but to not respect my time and condition is disappointing. Will not be returning.

I showed up having pre-registered online, but we found it easier for her to just copy my cards the old-fashioned way. Kacie is an all-knowing, troubleshooting peach. Checked in and had all my eye measurements taken by a lovely lady who enjoys Chick-fil-A, tell her I went to Mozzo and ordered too much! Anyway, Dr. Schaeffer then came to discuss options, measure again, and put some trial contacts in my eyes to see what I would see. She was kind, honest, and obviously knew what she was doing. I talked to a delightful redheaded lady in financing and she told me everything. I had good options so left with my head buzzing, able to see around me without glasses for the first time in years. I was so excited. I came back after a few days to bad news. Lasik is not an option. I have to wait to get cataracts and then get new lenses during that surgery. But Dr Schaeffer gave me a glasses prescription and contacts prescription and everyone was just so kind. I was a bit heartbroken. But they're now my new optometrist. Everything comes around. When I called back to discuss the procedure I found out that the doctor I used had left. Therefore, I left a message for the new person to call me - and no response. So just know - this is how this business handles customers from the top down. They don't care. So now I go to Germain Dermatology- they are very reasonable and have much better customer service. I gave them one star because those that answered the phones were so sympathetic and nice.
