Everything here was a positive experience, so you may be asking why this review isn't more star filled. Well service and atmosphere aside, I have to take into account why I went to this place pretty heavily and that was for a burger. In this case that burger is bringing this score down pretty hard. The onions rings were top notch, exactly what you expect from a local style hamburger place, but done totally right. Where this review loses its steam is when I bit into my burger and found a patty that was overcooked, and totally lacking any flavor. It was very unfortunate because the bun was nice and soft with a good structural integrity just like I like it, the toppings were crisp and fresh, but the burger patty is the soul of the burger. In this case that soul needed to get itself to church a bit more to do some internal searching. My wife's burger was similar, and her bacon was also somehow cheap and flavorless. This is a huge blind spot for Chester's, the signature product needs to be better than this. My rating system is pretty basic, if you're a somewhere that I wouldn't tell you to go even if it was right around the corner from you that's going to be a two star. Unfortunately Chester's is going to fall into that category. There are the bones of a great restaurant here, but work needs to be done.
