First time trying Slim Chickens. Went through the drive thru. Very friendly service. Picked up a "Chick's Meal." Basically the 3 piece meal. Three tenders, fries, a sliced toast, and a drink. I got to select my dipping sauce. I chose mango habanero. The chicken tenders are rather small, but they are very tender. The fries are ok. Maybe had I eaten them at the restaurant. Stopped by Saturday night on our way home to New Braunfels - after watching the Spurs at the Rock- Go Spurs Go! Ordered our meals through the drive through, attendant was prompt and pick up window service was hospitable. Grabbed our food and drove off - we were starving and so excited to try some new food- We dove into our food- and unfortunately and very disappointed- our food was dead cold, Our sandwiches were stale and greasy - fries gummy and limp- completely unbeatable. We were driving by and saw a sign for a new chicken business that just opened up. We decided to try it out and see if we would like it. Once driving up you can tell everything around is new and being built, so not much traffic and good parking around the business. When you first walk in you get the whole Raising Canes chicken vibe, as well as the menu. But this place serves wings, salads, and also other options. I asked the employee (who was very nice) what is the most popular. She recommended the 3 & 3 Meal, which comes with 3 wings and 3 strips along with a side of fries and a fountain drink. So I got that with mango habanero wings. The price was reasonable and the food came out in a good time. When eating the food it wasn't anything special, the wings tasted a bit off and had an interesting taste, and the strips were nothing too special. I think I will give this place another chance and try the sandwich or salad next time. read more

This venue just opened today! Servers were eagerly taking orders and decided to have their 3 tenders meal. Food came out within minutes hot and delicious! All employees were excited, which in turn, made me excited! Many smiling faces today. Bathroom was very spacious and clean! Dining area is big and can accommodate large parties. Passing by we noticed a new spot with a drive thru! The employee on the speaker was helpful and patient, as this was our first time. On Sundays, kids meals are $2.99 with the purchase of a regular meal. We tried a chicken basket combo, a mac & cheese kid meal, and a fried chicken sandwich combo in which we were all satisfied. The food tasted great, was hot and fresh, and the chicken portions were of good size. They do have an array of sauces to choose from, we tried their ranch and their house sauce, which were both delicious. We ordered 2 dessert jars, the chocolate and the banana pudding, both were in good portion sizes and tasted great. We look forward to going back. read more

Did we order too much? Turns out we did... we were too hungry to choose accurately, but to be fair, a similar meal set up with canes would provide far less food and that's what we based off from. Pros: -staff very nice -brand new and clean location -price point was actually quite nice and portions much larger than I thought -have waaaaaay more sauce variety including ranch as well! -also have wings and sweets and just more variety than a general tenders place Cons: -the "large" size is not large, its half empty and filled like an inch high of noodles in that bowl - closer to a small, a stretch to call medium imo. well... excited to try something "new" food-wise in my area, but gotta say this was a pretty subpar experience. did self order since i wasnt familiar with the menu. someone did arrive promptly at counter to hand me my cup for the order. soda machine out of coke zero, did take a short bit to get someones attention - but they brought out soda & said they were changing out container. food took a longish bit to arrive, considering it was pretty deserted at 9PM on monday. while waiting i noticed a lot of the tables needed cleaning - id had to try 3 before i found a clean one. chicken was hot, but very greasy. i kinda squeezed the strips in my napkin. the breading was light and tenders were okay. korean bbq sauce was tasty. the fried mushrooms i paid $1.99 extra to get looked horrible - i ventured a taste- nope, didnt taste any better than the looked. been here about 45 minutes and someone is just now cleaning. im pretty sure i woulda done better to take my $13 to jims next door. not a very good first impression. read more

This place has gone down hill since they opened. The tenders are getting smaller and smaller and tasting less fresh every single time I've gone there since. It seems like the fries were left out and re-fried as well. A shame. Even the sauces have less flavor. Won't be eating here again. read more

I ordered the spicy tender Mac bowl with a side of Korean bbq sauce, at the window they were trying give me the spicy tender classic meal, the lady who took my order said "now she wants the Mac and cheese" like it was my fault? They switched out the meal, but the tenders weren't spicy and there was no sauce. Then they gave me a chicken sandwich with only one tender in it. Had to return back to the store and return the whole order, then the lady didn't want to open the door for us to return it. The manager didn't give us a hassle, he was nice we got a refund but it was so annoying dealing with this. read more

The combo was solid -- the fries were amazing, the burger was okay but a little greasy. Prices are a bit steep, but the chicken sandwich was excellent. I'm giving it less than five stars for now since I've only tried one menu item, and Golden Chick is still my personal go-to. The service was friendly and they were learning still the process. Bad customer service. I try giving it another shot but it's different workers with the same rude attitude. Marina brings me my drink all spilling over and I asked for napkins and she wanted me to wait until I get to the window as it's dripping in my car. I had to ask again for napkins to clean her messy service. But food is GREAT. read more

Slim chickens is a really good fast food chicken place! The tenders are nice and breaded with a nice crunch, they have LOTS of side options besides fries, along with a variety of dipping sauces. They also have AMAZING shakes! And I have yet to try the desserts in jars because the shakes are so hard to pass up on! The service is also pretty quick! We have yet to side down inside to eat but it's a really good staple! My qualm is the bread, because it can be very garlicky at times in my opinion, but I will still eat it lol. Hope to get more of these throughout SA read more

Been wanting to try this place for awhile. Went through the drive thru and service was pretty quick. I got the regular chicken sandwich and my husband got the spicy tenders. He loved the mango habanero sauce. But we both found the chicken itself too be too salty (sandwich and tenders.) He also felt jittery which usually means MSG is in the food. So be aware of that affects you too. read more
