The notice told me about how Charley then stopped for lunch and, as luck would have it, sat down to a tasty Philly Steak. He then set about opening a Philly Steak restaurant of his own. The selections on the menu are varied and delicious. They include Teriyaki chicken and a Jalapeno choice, both of which I sampled for my first visit to Charley's. The drinks are cold and fresh as well. Service was bright and interested. The restaurant is clean, well lit and has interesting views either of the outside of the mall, the interior of the mall and the interior of the restaurant. It is a very busy place but service is swift. The quality of the food and the taste of their dishes is really enjoyable. It may look like a fast food or quick sandwich place, and you do get your sandwiches quickly, but there is definitely some artistry going on in this place. It's definitely my place to stop for lunch when I am in or near Macomb Mall in Roseville, Michigan!

The sandwich wasn't terrible, but wasn't amazing either. The bread was bland and had no flavor whatsoever. The sauce they put on it was plain mayo instead of a cheese sauce like I'd hope for. The steak was good but didn't knock my socks off, I would've liked a hint of steak seasoning or something. The extra money I paid for onions, peppers and mushrooms were trivial amounts. I felt cheated a bit. The fries were hand cut but needed salt because they were bland too. Lame. I guess the best part was free soda refills for dine-in customers. Charley's is a decent place if you're STARVING from shopping all day and want some fast (overly priced) food.
