This is easily THE BEST Tubby's location! It is very small but wow, is it ever efficient. The orders don't take long at all and the food is always hot and fresh. The manager, Jamie, is probably the reason this location is so great. She runs it so smoothly, making sure every customer is always properly taken care of, and does so in a friendly manner. In observing her interactions with other employees, they all seem to really like her as well, so hats off to her for making it all happen! Only once did I have a problem with an order and she made sure to take care of it ASAP. And don't worry at ALL about going here during the pandemic. Customers are not currently allowed to go inside which helps keep everything sanitary. They are very efficient with their system of calling and bringing the food to your car. I also recommend ordering online to save time. You just easily place your order, pick it up about 30 minutes later and call/pay when you get there. Not to mention, Tubby's has the best mozzarella cheese sticks of any fast food restaurant so definitely try some! read more

i went into Saint Clair Shores Tubbys for a Regular steak and cheese sub,when I unwrapped it it looked like the bun shrunk,less toppings and meat , laws very disappointed with it . Then I see a sign for senior discount and it said that you have to be 70 year old , "WOW 70 ". You definitely don't want any of our business. Most of business give senior discount at 62 ,some will even do 55 . I won't be back to Tubbys anymore , and I wish many more senior will read this . read more

This place use to be a staple of SCS. I ordered 2 of the same subs. I get there and they give me 1 sub. so I have to wait which was whatever. Stuff happens, I get it. So they give me the other sub. And I get home and it's a totally wrong sub and size. The entire "staff" were young and I understand that too. But the lack of care, quality of food, and price was a total joke. My family has been coming here for years but I think we're done. We'll be going to jersey mikes where the subs are legit delish and cheaper. Tubbys sucks and this location in particular really sucks. I visited this Tubby two different times and they always seem to forget something that I ordered. I called because they forgot two items, the girl on phone apologize and told me that I would have to write a letter to try to get a refund for my items . The young man on the register was acting like they didn't have the order, because he couldn't find the receipt, he finally found receipt to rang the order , he still forget two item, I couldn't come back they were closing and I drove far from the location. Wow, why should customers have to write a letter because of their mistake!!!!!! read more

Update 5/4/2020 I increased the star rating from 2 to 3 stars. Tubby's corporate office and the store manager both reached out to apologize and compensate for the previous bad experiences. The manager stated that the location has recently added another phone line to handle the call volume. I don't think many businesses would work this hard to address a customer concern. The food taste and quality has always been great. If order accuracy and phone service does improve, I will revise my review accordingly. read more

This place has gone down in service. They just can't get seem to get it together. If you call to place an order and they will simply pick up the phone ask you to hold then hang up on you. Calling back, they said they no longer can do a phone in order because they are just to busy and you have to come in to place the order. . . This is the very first Tubby's ever in life. For those of you who may not know what a Tubby's is...I think its the Midwest version of a Philly Cheesesteak. So Very Very good. The steak has NO, zip, zero, nil fatty pieces or gristle (sp?) which is the biggest thing in the world to me! The buns are always fresh. I usually get the Mushroom steak and cheese minus onion (they come with onion even though the menu doesn't indicate that) and the Tubby's dressing on the side. The tubby's dressing is de-lish! I think the workers know that too and tend to give you the entire bottle on your sub hence why I ask for it on the side- soggy bread is not my friend! This location does NOT have a drive through and is pretty much only a take away. My friend loves their chili. We both enjoy their breaded mushrooms with ranch dipping sauce! Try it! If you like steak subs I'll bet you'll enjoy at least one of their subs! read more

So I drove up there. 3 miles away to walk in to people eating and hanging out. I love tubbys and would love to write a good review, but I've had nothing but issues the past 2 times. The first time, I explained to the manager that my order was wrong and she kept saying that I ordered it wrong. Fair enough. But she was telling me the lettuce I wanted was NOT extra (even if I wanted extra quantity) but I had to ask for it.... I was standing right in front of her arguing over this and she does not offer to fix it, still. This Tubby's is okay. Back when I lived in Royal Oak the guy at the location I'd go to would hook it up. This location, not so much. When I receive an order from here it has an onion taste to it like they don't clean the grill. The people there have some stale personalities too. If I could give this specific location no stars I would. My husband and I stopped in today to try and get lunch because were sick of cooking during the quarantine. We pulled up and an older lady was outside talking to another customer. Before we pulled into a spot we asked her if we needed to call or order online for food. She acted like we interrupted her whole day and told us "there are signs on the window. " instead of just answering a simple question she was rude, ignorant and it was absolutely unnecessary. Food is sloppy. Employee named 'Jamie' is extremely rude over the phone, and actually scolded me over a mistake that HE made when he didn't specify how i should order my food. And now they just implemented a rule where they don't deliver until after 5pm. That's very inconveinent for me because i can't leave my work to get it. So this place won't be seeing my money anymore, unfortunately. I would have given this review more stars if the employees i've spoken to weren't so rude. I recommend the food but it's almost not worth having to talk to the employees. The delivery guys are cool though, sad that i won't be tipping them anymore because of something another employee did. I was called very early on in my 'order processing stage' to be alerted that the roads a bad (and they have many delivery orders tonight) and my sub might be delayed. I love Tubby's. I love subs in general, really, but the tubby's famous I have literally been eating my whole life. I crave them when I'm sick and quite honestly, it's my favorite hangover food. I've been to most of the tubby locations. (I've lived all over the Detroit area) this one is the best. Other lications mess with the bread. Too hard, too seedy, they just jack it up. Or the drench it in dressing which ends up in my lap. No freaking thank you. This tubby's does it all right. Its also the original location! Its tiny but with bar stools. I live in Az and we have traveled around the country eating at many restaurants. I have 4 teenage sons who mentioned after eating at Tubby's that it was the BEST food ever. There is no replicating this food. The steak and cheese is my favorite but the Famous hot or cold is wonderful too! I highly recommend this location. Been going to this location since 1968. I have had a few bad experiences in that time. That is understandable. I JUST had the worst experience ever. I ordered a jumbo and what I got would be hard pressed to pass for even a regular. Whole jumbo fried ham and cheese had 3 pieces of ham and two pieces of cheese. I have had it happen in the past where I order a jumbo and do not receive the extra's, so I am very aware of that fact and normally pay very close attention as they are making my sub. This time I didn't. With the current choices for subs that are nearby to this location I will NOT EVER be back to this tabby's location again. Rude employees, over priced product, and questionable business practices. I have put up with all of these over the years at different times, because I love their subs so much. They have finally driven me away forever. I will miss them. read more

Normally I don't care enough to leave reviews, but tonight was the straw. I ordered a regular cold veggie with Tubby's dressing instead of raspberry sauce. Get home and unwrap my sandwich to find raspberry sauce all over my sandwich. Amazing, but not surprising since the boy making food asked for the order to be repeated a few times. So I call the store, explain the problem, and ask them to just refund the sandwich to my credit card. Dwight tells me that if I want a refund I need to bring the sub back. I said, are you serious? I should be inconvenienced twice because of your mistake? He replied yes. If I think I'm getting a refund I need to return the sandwich. Well It's 10:00 pm and have a trashcan here so I told him I'd throw it away here and would be contacting corporate. So I have done, though I do not expect a response. Every year I've gone to the tax place next door and after I'm done I venture next door with my wife and order a sub. This was the first time in 5 years I didn't do it. The reason for not doing it was that when I pulled up for my tax appointment I parked in a spot between Terry's Tax Service and the sub shop. The lady inside made a point to come out and ask me if I was going to be in Terry's long and if I was I had to move my car and park some place else. I said ok no prob. Got into my car and backed straight back into a spot right off of Harper right by the entrance into the strip mall. Well the good old Tubby's parking cop made a point to run out and let me know that was "their" spot too. Well I obliged and moved again. I went into Terry's for my appointment and told them what happened. They proceeded to tell me she's done this with a myriad of people. Some of whom frequent that establishment. She also went on to say that like us their tax customers would grab a sandwich after they had their taxes done. This lady has really hurt the Tubby's business by being the parking Nazi. After my appointment I walked over the o the Tubby's and popped my head in and told her that I understood her issue with the parking but running out and chasing current (I.e. me) as well as potential clients away over a parking spot isn't good business. She could give two shits that we've grabbed subs after our tax appointment every year. As a matter of fact she's completely clueless on how you should treat customers let alone talk to people. This place could be the only place to eat in Macomb county and I'd go hungry before is by anything from her or that restaurant.
