I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars here because I don't want to be too harsh, so I rounded up to four. I'm dog sitting on this side of town and since it was the day before Thanksgiving, I didn't want to go far from where I was at. I've had Lefty's before, and they're pretty decent good food. I would've normally gotten a sub and taken half home, but didn't really feel like it this time around. Plus, I wasn't starving and Thanksgiving's tomorrow so I don't want leftovers hanging out when I know I'm about to have a huge meal. I saw on they're website they have corned beef egg rolls which sounded perfect for my appetite and not having any leftovers. Walking in, the place wasn't super busy and there was one super nice young gal working all by herself. She was super friendly and really made my experience better. I told her I wanted the corned beef egg rolls with a drink and after she was done doing her thing, she rang me up and started cooking. My bill was only $9 and some change with a fountain pop which is actually pretty good. Here's where I docked a star because, by no fault of the staff's own, it shouldn't have been like this: **ice machine was out of service and I had to go next door to Captain Jay's to get ice. **very limited seating AND the table closest to the drink fountain was severely broken and I almost hurt myself sitting there. **One of the drinks was out (I think Starry?) but the rest were good. I would still eat here, but they could do better with they're dining area by a million miles. There's NO REASON for a busted ice machine and sub par seating. But, of course, I did like the food, so that's a bonus. High five to the gal who helped me because she really made my day! read more

I haven't even gotten my food yet. I'm just already pissed about the financial transparencies present here. I got asked regular, curly, or Cajun for my fries to come with my meal. I don't even see Cajun as an option. The meal on the menu says $16.99. My receipt says $12+5.98 for a value meal. So I guess Cajun seasoning is $1? No actual disclosure of that either spoken to me nor showing on the menu nor receipt, but okay. Then I paid in cash and see a .35 cc fee.... I politely asked out of curiosity and apparently that stands for some kind of customer calculation fee... Has anyone ever heard or seen something so goofy on a receipt before? I went to get my drink filled and all the lids in the front are sticky. Had to get one from the stack in the back. Not the cleanest vibes going on here. So now I have my food: $20 got me a cheesesteak that's precisely 2 inches wide. Tightly shut. Some of the meat was a little overly dry and concentrated to the center. Apparently hot peppers could have been on this thing, but again, no questions asked nor shown as an option on the menu. The cheesesteak was actually still pretty good despite being a bit dry in spots and underwhelming portion wise. Doesn't look anything like the beefier boys I've seen pictured online, but it was still quite tasty overall. The picture of the fries should speak for itself . A pitiful amount of raw Cajun seasoning just haphazardly sprinkled about. Fries were more half-soggy than crispy and about 10% seasoned. They have pictures online that look like they have actual good cajun fries. These were pathetic. I went to one of these locations some years ago when they were opening up and remember it being as good as it looks in photos. Between being shadily overcharged $1 for a pitiful amount of raw seasoning and the ultra-embarrassing "customer calculation charge" this is just not worth $19.40. I almost went to penn station and in comparison I really wish I did. Their fries slap and I'd have gotten like 30% more sandwich for a total of $17.69 with tax. Also the staff Penn station don't seem like they want to jump off a cliff (probably because they don't have explain any goofy ass hidden fees or deal with quality complaints half the day.) If an option costs more than the other two you mention, mention that or at least put it on the menu. If a sandwich also commonly could have hot peppers, mention that or put it on the menu. Take the Cajun fries off the menu if that's the standard for them. Clean up your soda station if someone spills pop all over it. Take new pics if they're gonna come off like a bait and switch. Get rid of your customer calculation fee for the love of god. Just make sandwiches or drinks 35 cents more if you have to. That shit is embarrassing and there's no way it's helping morale around there. read more

I'm disappointed with this place me and my wife went there to eat her meal was all right I order a 12 inch cheesesteak sandwich for $12.79 and that's all. I wanted I ordered actually a combo but the cheesesteak had onions in it and I'm allergic to onions so I could not eat it and I already drove 6 miles away from that location so I wasn't about to drive all the way back and try to get it fix for one sandwich they should've got it right in the first place for as much as they should charge. I had such high hopes for Lefty's! A friend recommended them and I was excited to have another good takeout option close to my hometown. The online ordering function was convenient and the location is easy to find and has ample parking. The order was completed in about 15 minutes, ready for me on the counter when I arrived. The staff were nice and helpful but there was some confusion about how to close out the order since I had already paid online. When I got the order home, I was disappointed to find the ribeye in the Lefty's cheesesteak was the consistency of ground beef. It was a very off-putting texture and not at all what I expect when I think "cheesesteak." The egg roll was also lackluster, and despite there being evidence of a corned beef version (what I would have preferred) on the menu, I ended up with a cheesesteak version. The fries were good, but nothing special. It was a miss for me culinarily, but I did appreciate the ease of ordering and quick service. read more

Worst location EVER! The first time I ate here my sub was completely wrong. Ok, whatever chop it up as a lost. I went back today and I specifically said no cheese on one of my subs. Might as well said extra cheese because the "cook" didn't read the slip. My 2nd sub was missing the green peppers, onions and mushrooms.. The cashier excuse was he's new. I've been to a few Lefty's locations, and they never disappoint! Lefty's has a great menu, and their cheese steaks taste like you are in Philly, not to mention the buffalo, and cheese steak egg rolls! Our first time visiting this establishment. Called our order in over the phone. We were told the order was going to be ready in 10 minutes. Headed to the restaurant, and it was actually ready and waiting! I was greeted upon entering the place and left within 2 minutes with our hot food! Went to Lefty's today 10 and Schoenberr, the cheesesteak and fries were delicious. Jada was awesome, took our order and made the food. In less than 15 minutes she made our 3 Hoagies and sides; and took another customers order. Food was great and hot. Definitely will go again. read more

I ordered $61 worth of food near closing. While waiting another customer walks in and placed her order. The young employees working was a young lady cook and a young slim guy with twisted hair was very cool. He informed us they were closing but will take our order. . I noticed when I arrived home, the corn beef egg rolls were not in the bag. He said you get 2 for $6. I called of course no answer because they were about to close. It was not an option to leave a vm. I returned later that week letting them know, showing my charge on my card, too letting her know I have my receipt I just left it in the other car. The young lady asked me to wait, then went through the transaction log, find my order and says I have to call my manager. I could here the manager loudly upset speaking to the associate, she had her on speaker. Why the aggression and tone, very unprofessional. The manager told the associate, she can not remake the egg rolls because I came in 4 days later. What a shame, days. So I donated my money to this place and will not return due to the poor service of what is supposed to be a manager, clearly not trying to make it right for the customer.
