But because of that it also gets super crowded and you have to be lucky to get a good picture because there's no courtesy so people just photo bomb without a care but it's still a super cool thing to walk by and visit at least once!!! She specializes in ultra luxurious textiles, including vintage from all over the world. She never duplicates any piece and is willing to do as many fittings as needed to make the perfect garment. Her rates are extremely reasonable for what she does and the clientele she designs for. A similar dress for any other designer dress would be around 10,000, but she does couture work for a fraction of that price, even losing money on dresses sometimes! What really summed up the entire attitude was essentially being told, "If you don't like what you see, you can leave" and being given a "buy it or leave" type of ultimatum. There's a difference between being direct and treating customers with complete disrespect. The arrogance and condescending attitude were completely unnecessary and made the entire experience incredibly unpleasant. Some of the worst customer service I've experienced. If this is how customers are treated here, I would strongly recommend taking your business somewhere that actually understands basic professionalism and respect.

There was no one to say "hello", "can I help you?". Got me a dressing room for me to try couple of the items that she selected for me. The racks for some of their items were too cramped up. The store on the other side was very clean.. Tried them on, and I liked the way the glittery purple suit fit me. It was perfect and my size. Hugged my sexy curves and made me feel really good! As I was browsing the aisles, I noticed a few other things... some I needed and some I liked. With that being said, got an imitation of Donna Karan's Perfect Scents (the brand) perfume, Cashmere Mist. It has a very soothing, clean scent to it and was only $20.00. It worked out perfectly, since I ran out of my last bottle. Then I saw this beautiful narrow royal blue vase, this pretty, yellowish/mustard color floral choker, which can also be used as a headpiece. As I was walking down their aisles, I also saw those comfortable Minnetonka flat shoes in color red. Tried them on and it hugged my feet perfectly. It was just what I needed. The fabric was so soft and I believe made of velvet. It was on sale from $65.00 to $30.00. Got 2 pairs of earrings, 4 nail polishes, and that's all that I bought. You can find some great deals at Nordstrom Rack with affordable prices. They also have other brands by famous designers. Bought few candy bars at the register along with a small bottle of water. We booked an appointment 4 or 5 days ahead of time, as there was full availability on the calendar for weekdays. There is a 48 hour cancellation window, and at hour 47 we realized that the timing conflicted slightly with a work matter (when we made the appointment we were in New York and miscalculated the time difference). An email was sent at the 47th hour (1 hour after the window), mentioning the issue and asking if it could still be canceled since it was so close to the window, and apologizing for missing the window. The owner replied and specifically said "No problem, we've gone ahead and canceled the appointment for you". At this point, we figured all was well as they made no mention of still charging the fee. A few weeks later, we noticed the charge was still there. A quick email reply came when we inquired saying it was past their window and no refund was due. IF this was the case, why did the original email not say so and why did they make 0 effort to reschedule or ask if another time worked better? OR we could have made it work if she hadn't responded so positively. What a slimy way to make a quick $27 for nothing. I will restate that the calendar was still really really open (ie, it was not a highly sough after appointment slot taken from anyone else even on the off chance they were booking in the 2-4 days out window). Overall, it is a blessing the appointment didn't happen after reading some of these reviews about how the owner acts in person (no surprise there). Ended up with a beautiful dress from Berta and would highly recommend their new LA showroom on Beverly.
