Glass fragment remnants stuck in the driver seat crevices
    Peter T.

I wish to preface this review by stating that as a consulting professional whose purpose is to provide excellence in client service, I firmly believe in going above and beyond my clients' expectations, but at the very least, to meet them. I just took in my brand-new Porsche Macan for a windshield replacement (at the Pompano location), and received cordial and prompt attention to scheduling the appointment (thank you, Willie). I used this third-party shop as prescribed by the dealership (Champion Porsche). As far as I can tell, the new windshield looks fine, as expected for a glass shop exhibiting proficiency and experience, though I will follow-up and adjust my review accordingly if I notice anything not quite right. My immediate concern was after the work was done, just before driving off, I noticed both tiny and sizable glass chips scattered all over the seats, between the seats, under the seats, in the crevices of the seats, on the floor, on the dashboard, and even in the driver side and front passenger windows (see attached pictures). I inquired promptly, and was given due attention by them blowing out the car's interior for the glass particles. I inspected, and found more particles. They blew it out some more. I inspected, and still found more particles. Out of an abundance of caution and concern, I requested a thorough vacuuming, which was partially done. I am unsure why they did not preemptively offer this service (though I suspect it is because they do not typically do it, as when I asked why there were even glass particles everywhere in the first place, they could not tell me definitively, though I surmise they simply shattered the old windshield during the replacement, but would not admit to it as it would imply poor or improper work and fault on their end). Still noticing remnants of glass particles even after vacuuming, I had to personally spot check and request additional vacuuming, and in some cases just carefully hand-picked and disposed of the glass particles that I could see myself. Besides the less important concern for glass chips damaging the car's interior and seats (which, given the nature of car, would not be inexpensive to repair/replace), of much stronger concern to me was passenger and driver safety, inasmuch as children and pets in the car could be cut by or, God-forbid ingest, glass particles that they see (or worse, cannot see) or touch or sit on or step on or that get caught on them or on their clothes (in my case, to my shoes). I cannot, in good conscience, invite passengers into the car knowing that there are still remnants of glass particles that could potentially harm them (God-forbid some particles get into the vents and blow into their eyes or face) and be personally liable for bodily injury. When one drops a drinking glass or if a glassware baking dish chips, a reasonable person should vacuum immediately in the case of the former, and in the case of the latter, dispose completely of the dish (and any food contents) to avoid potential harm from any glass particles both seen and unseen. The nature of glass is such that it can be very difficult or virtually impossible to see, and though it could appear negligible or insignificant given particle size, it can nonetheless cause serious bodily harm. As a shop specializing in glass work, I expected at the very least that this was understood, and that as a necessary precaution, they would take the liberty of ensuring additional safety steps without the customer needing to be the one to notice or ask, or to have to hover over workers to see the steps carried out properly and professionally. I wound up being the one apologizing for having to ask for additional assistance and wasting their time with continuously spotting more chips and having to ask for further attention, but was not offered any apology or explanation for what or why it happened or for the hassle on my end. I respect the time of others as my own, which I had to spend (at the cost of personal time off from work) continuously inspecting after their attempts to clean up their mess, which was only partially done. It concerns me that if this is the quality of how my car was left for me, I cannot have confidence that the windshield replacement itself was done 100% properly. Common sense dictates that the car should have been returned to me in 100% of the state that it was brought to them, meaning 0% glass particles inside the car, or if they were unable to do so, they ought to cover the cost of having it thoroughly cleaned or detailed by someone who can remove 100% of the glass particle mess they created to restore the car's interior to 100% of its original state. At least from the perspective of a consulting professional, this is the very least I would offer to do for my own clients.

They installed my 2010 Volvo c70 front windscreen. They did a excellent job, they also found a leak that the old windscreen had.

Safelite called immediately, made an appt, and got to my house on time. I have a Macan which meant replacing the windshield and calibrating the camera. They were professional and very sweet. I will tell you that, later in the evening, the rear view mirror fell down. I called and they had someone at my house first thing in the morning. There was a screw that was a bit loose. He fixed it, explained it and showed it to me. It took all of about 8 minutes. They were friendly, professional, and fast. I would highly recommend.

I had to chase them down repeatedly just to get the most basic updates. No one ever reached out proactively. It felt like I was managing the entire process myself while they did... nothing. They also failed to coordinate with my insurance in any meaningful way, which only added more delays and confusion. You'd think a company that does this every day would have that figured out, but apparently not. Request was send in Feb, it is now April, just to order a part and attempt to schedule the service. A month of me calling, following up, and basically begging for progress because they clearly weren't capable of handling it on their own. And then, after all that time wasted, they refused to complete the service, for no valid reason whatsoever. Nothing had changed from the original situation. Same car, same issue, same everything. They just decided not to do the job. To top it off, the on-site staff was rude, dismissive, and acted like I was the inconvenience. No accountability, no urgency, no professionalism. Honestly one of the worst service experiences I've ever had. Avoid Safelite at all costs unless you enjoy wasting your time and being treated like your business doesn't matter.

After having a not so great experience with a larger company on my previous car, I was very hesitant to have this done. My contact at the dealership (Coconut Creek Auto) highly recommended Paul at AAAG and after speaking with him on the phone about the process (and informing him of my prior not so great experience) he did his best to put me at ease. I'll admit, I was still skeptical! After ordering the new window he came out to my office and replaced the windshield to perfection right there in the parking lot - it took less than 30 minutes. He was very reassuring and told me that he regularly does this for many local luxury car dealerships and brands as well. The window replacement was done to perfection - I honestly don't even notice that I have a new window. He also made arrangements for the sensor company to contact me to re-calibrate the cameras which I had no idea I needed to do. I guess all the new fancy cars need to have this done. Paul and his staff were extremely reliable and professional plus everything was covered under my car insurance so I didn't have to pay a dime! I would absolutely recommend Paul at AAAG for any of your window replacement needs. (Don't use Safelite!)
