I had a great experience at Charm City Plastic Surgery. The second that I walk in, I felt as if I entered a spa. The atmosphere was very tranquil and inviting. I went in for a consultation and the staff provided great customer service! Aside from the service, this facility is conveniently located in the heart of Fells Point. My consultation with Dr. Emily was the best experience that I've had of 4 consultations. She was patient, informative, reassuring and provided alternative solutions that no other doctor had provided. I am extremely grateful to have stumbled upon her and her practice. I love and trust this facility so much that I came back the same day to see an aesthetician. Laurie was the sweetest! She performed a microdermabrasion and my face is making significant progress since the appointment 2 days ago. I've been here 3 times and every time the experience has been uplifting (pun intended) fun, informative, professional and the results have been excellent. The staff is warm and friendly, the doctor (Emily) is professional, open, listens well, gives her recommendations and gentle. I barely felt the needle going in each time. I've emailed questions afterwards and gotten prompt helpful responses from the staff. Lori that does the peels and micro needling is also very informative & thorough. Dr. Emily is the absolute best! Her new office space is so beautiful, modern, and welcoming! The girls at the front desk are always polite and accommodating. Dr Emily is never pushy, nor does she make you like you need a certain service or procedure. She works to better understand you, your goals, and what you like/ look like. I have under eye troughs that have receded as I've gotten older. This doctor suggested that I could get fillers and they would be visible at first but would would "smooth out" over time. I went back twice about them because it looked like I had bags under my eyes where the restylene was injected. She said to just keep rubbing it and they would smooth out. I trusted her because it all the money I spent and didn't want to undo it, and she offered no refund. Fast forward a couple of years and I just paid another couple of hundred dollars to have it dissolved. My new doctor said that's what always happens and won't perform fillers under the eyes for that reason. She said it could have sat there for ten years. Almost a grand later and years of walking around with artificial bags under my eyes and I'm back to where I started. Glad I didn't let her do my breast reduction. read more

I was contemplating leaving a review, but I think it's important to bring awareness. Especially for women of color looking for an aesthetician. I saw Laurie Leight for a microdermabrasion. This was my first visit and my first time with an aesthetician. Laurie was very friendly, but some comments were made that should have not been made, especially to a woman of color. I am paraphrasing these comments because I can't remember the exact words. Exact words are in quotes. #1 comment that threw me off: your skin color is beautiful..."if I were to come back in another life I would want to be your skin color" #2 comment: Mixed race/skin color is beautiful and proceeded to give an example of a mixed baby #3 comment: She asked me what my nationality was (which was fine) but then asked "what about your dad" assuming I was mixed race when I told her I was of one nationality to begin with #4 comment: She brought up the Freddie Gray "riots" and how "antifa" burned down the city. This was unprovoked...we weren't even discussing the recent protests Although, she may have not had any ill intent these comments were unnecessary and unprofessional. I didn't even know what to do in the moment and most these comments (besides the first) were made while doing the treatment so it was already too late to leave. I nodded and stayed pretty quite while she was speaking and stayed calm and friendly. I left without saying anything because I had to process what had happen. The actual microdermabrasion was done well and my skin looks good, so if none of the above matters then proceed with your appointment. I did not meet or speak with Dr. Emily Clarke, so I cannot attest to her professionalism. I was excited to have a cute boutique style plastic surgery spot in Baltimore and it's very hard to find black/brown aestheticians in the area so I took a leap of faith here just to be disappointed. read more

I just switched to Charm City from another clinic where I had Dysport and a few other cosmetic services done because 1) this is much closer to my house and 2) I just keep seeing more positive reviews pop up and 3) the location and interior are just beautiful. I went in to get my Dysport/Botox touched and asked a few questions to Emily about fillers. I'm in my mid/late 30s and I feel my face is starting to hollow out and have been wanting to try fillers. Emily showed me a few before and afters of some clients and I was sold. I was already her last appointment of the day, and was only supposed to do Botox. However she agreed with no hesitation and did the fillers under my eyes to help with the hollowed out look I felt I had. Literally immediate results (from the filler... not the Botox). I usually keep cosmetic procedures to myself but I actually shared a selfie with a couple of close friends to point out the difference. I wasn't planning to go back for three months but I'll probably book another appointment to try filling out the lines around my mouth and look into trying lip fillers. If you have the resources but are worried about trying it, don't be. Emily is wonderful and has such an interesting background. The process is not pain free or painless but it's really not bad. I wish I could give Dr. Clarke-Pearson more than 5 stars. Yes she's very warm and easy to talk to but more importantly she's a very accomplished surgeon. She will talk you OUT of buying products until you've tried them (since they are pricey) and will only recommend procedures she thinks will truly give you the result you need. When receiving Botox she recommended to start with a conservative amount with a plan of following up in two weeks and adding as necessary. I will be telling everyone about this practice. read more

As a newly turned 30 y/o gal, I have been staring at my 11 lines (the one between the brows) for about a year now. I do regularly wash my face and take care of my skin with face wash, serum, and moisturizer. Despite all that, I still developed them (aging amiright?) I spent a lot of my life (and still unfortunately do) not wearing my glasses to see far away so I know I scrunched this line into fruition. I came to Dr. Clarke-Pearson wanting either Botox or Dysport to make the line I hated go away. She talked me through everything and I felt very at ease. We ended up going with Dysport (both were the same price) and she under injected because it was my first time (best call because it was the PERFECT amount). I now have a ZERO Lines my forehead. I saw a difference immediately and every day after it looked even better. I attached a no filter before and after (2 weeks post). Needless to say, I'm a convert and will continue going here. I seriously can not recommend Dr. Emily enough!! Aside from being the sweetest most down to earth person along with her staff she is amazing at her craft! I had lip filler from someone else before and while the results were great it was literally the most painful experience ever and I swore I wouldn't do it again because it was so terribly painful and I have a high pain tolerance. I really wanted to maintain the look so I mustered up the courage to do it again with Dr. Emily along with some Botox and I couldn't believe how easy she made it! She was so gentle it literally did not hurt at all and I still am in shock at how huge of a difference there could be considering my first experience.
