The butter chicken was probably the best I've ever had. Perfect amount of spice, buttery but not overwhelming, and very filling. The goat biryani is their speciality. Spicy and fresh! They slow cook it so the flavors really intensify and develop. The shrimp curry is a must have! Cooked to perfection and paired perfectly with the veggies. The Tandoori chicken was an experience! I'm about to say something that I've never said before nor did I ever think I'd have to say, but that was the blandest Indian food I've ever had in my entire life! I've never been to this place so anytime I try a new Indian restaurant I typically go with Butter Chicken as a safe choice because that's really REALLY hard to mess up. Well guess what?! They messed it up! There was no flavor whatsoever. I placed the order through Yelp for a carryout and as I was pulling away to leave I decided to double check my bag to make sure everything was there. Sure enough my rice that I picked as my side was missing as well as the extra naan that I ordered. I turned around and went back in and while the guy working the counter seemed apologetic, he also seemed like there was no way they could have made that mistake. After looking over the order slip though he went in the back and got my rice. I pointed out for a second time that I was still missing an order of naan to which he again gave me another look of uncertainty before having the cook throw another piece in the tandoor. I don't work or live out this way so chances of me going back would be slim to none, however after this experience I can say for sure that I will never order from here again. Ever since covid first came around, I've been hoping for a place to bring back their lunch buffet. Finally found one! Their buffet was amazing. Fresh, soft naan brought out every few minutes. Two words......Covid buffet! That's right, even during these times, these guys have a buffet and are still open. Of course they seem to have some of the appropriate measures in place to make sure things are sanitized and stay clean, but if you are really itching for a buffet during these times I would definitely recommend checking these guys out. Because they are one of the few restaurants I know of that still do it. I intend to go back and try it out myself. Only got takeout from them so far, which was chicken biryani, and I must say that it was pretty decent. They've got a decent spice level and the taste was great. The owner there is also super friendly as well. The place itself is pretty easy to miss, since I go through that intersection for years now and have never even noticed this place. Even on the inside, it could definitely use a little spruce up. But they are under new management so we'll see what happens on those fronts. Food was just ok but everything overly spiced with cinnamon. Large variety of items both vegan and non-vegan. Tandoori chicken needed to be cooked more as marinade seemed to be heaped on the chicken pieces. Best thing on the buffet was the pollack paneer with roti. The goat biryani was good. Some items that were supposed to be warm were cold. Gajjar halva (carrot desert) lacked to have any Qoya and the gulab jamun (fried donut type balls) needed more milk powder in the recipe as they didn't taste right. They were cold too. They also need to boil the gulab jamun sauce more to make it a syrupy consistency as it was like water and no apparent flavor. Chai needed to be made with more milk and less chai masala added. I decided to make this in restaurant dining experience, instead of a carry out. My husband and I were greeted by the very friendly staff that was so eager to help us decide what to order. Since I had only eaten Indian food a few times before, I was open to all suggestions. We were not disappointed. Everything is fresh and made to order.
