OMG. THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD. From our first bite (the homemade chips are so good) to the sopapillas (the best I have ever had) the food is incredible! And the decor is so fun!! And the service is perfect!! You must stop here and eat. Go hike in the lake a Palmer area and stop here to eat before 2pm when they close u til 4 pm. You're welcome!!

This place was recommended by a friend and definitely a drive from where I live so if you're nearby, I do suggest to go by as a family owned restaurant. The vibe is beautiful, and the food was delicious along with my beverage. They say the mocajete was where to go so that's what I had. It did not disappoint, but I can't say it was the best. That's just a preference. overall, an amazing restaurant.

Continuing our search for anything resembling good Mexican or TexMex, we ventured south of the border (the Castle Rock border, that is) to Larkspur. A few different people had recommended Charrito's House, so we gave it a try. The 3.5 star average is pretty accurate. First, the little house and somewhat dated, rustic setting is kind of neat. We were greeted and seated promptly. The menu is huge, and a lot looks good. I ordered the combination fajitas, and my daughter had the shredded beef enchiladas. Chips and salsa are both quite good. Salsa has a nice flavor with a bit of a bite at the end. Be aware, the first bowl of chips is free. After that, they'll charge $2.50/bowl and not tell you unless you ask. We saw that in the menu, but they're pretty quick to ask if you want more chips (of course we do, but not if we're paying for them). Food came out after a bit of a wait, but nothing too long. Unlike most other places, the fajitas were actually sizzling, so that's something. There wasn't a ton of meat, and what was there was kind of scrawny; however, both the steak and chicken had good taste, and combined with the peppers, onions, homemade Guac, condiments, and rice and beans (which were both fine), I had plenty of food. Of course, I took a pic of the sides but somehow forgot the fajitas. How did I do that?!? They'll also charge for substitutions. Even though I held the sour cream and other things, they charged $1.50 for an extra dollop of Guac. My daughter thought the enchiladas were ok. Not the best or worst she's ever had. I'm guessing she'd try something else if we decide to come back. We split an order of sopapillas for dessert. They were cooked perfectly and had great flavor, other than the strong amount of salt. Not sure if something was messed up in the batter or what should've been sugar and cinnamon, but they were quite salty. I guess mixed with the other flavors and honey, it wasn't THAT bad. We did eat them after all. Service was ok. Definitely not rushed. We had to ask for refills a few times, but overall, it was fine. So in the end, another 3.5 star experience. I'd come back if we were in Larkspur and hungry, but we probably wouldn't rush back down from Castle Rock with so many other options nearby.

First time visiting this Mexican restaurant in Parker, and I have to say they have something really…read morespecial going on. From the moment I walked in until the moment I left, I was consistently greeted, checked on, and even had the manager come over to introduce himself and see how everything was going. That level of hospitality really sets a restaurant apart. The service felt more like being welcomed into a friend's home than dining out, which was such a refreshing experience. The fajitas were very tasty and delicious--no complaints at all there. The toasted michelada was okay; I might suggest a salted or Tajín rim to enhance the flavor a bit more. The atmosphere had great Mexican vibes that I really enjoyed. Overall, thank you for a wonderful experience. I'll definitely be back!

The only downside was that bar service was a bit slow, but it was clear the bartender was working hard and handling a busy crowd on their own. Despite this, the margaritas were made to perfection! The queso blanco is delicious, the salsa is a bit on the runny and mild side, but overall, good.. especially with the fresh, house-made chips. I ordered the fish and shrimp fajitas, and while the seafood was cooked perfectly, the overall dish was a bit under-seasoned and left me wanting more flavor. That said, the menu has so many great options that I'd definitely come back and try something different. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'm looking forward to giving them another visit.
