First time visiting this Mexican restaurant in Parker, and I have to say they have something really special going on. From the moment I walked in until the moment I left, I was consistently greeted, checked on, and even had the manager come over to introduce himself and see how everything was going. That level of hospitality really sets a restaurant apart. The service felt more like being welcomed into a friend's home than dining out, which was such a refreshing experience. The fajitas were very tasty and delicious--no complaints at all there. The toasted michelada was okay; I might suggest a salted or Tajín rim to enhance the flavor a bit more. I really enjoyed the atmosphere here, and every employee I interacted with was friendly and welcoming. The only downside was that bar service was a bit slow, but it was clear the bartender was working hard and handling a busy crowd on their own. Despite this, the margaritas were made to perfection! The queso blanco is delicious, the salsa is a bit on the runny and mild side, but overall, good.. especially with the fresh, house-made chips. I ordered the fish and shrimp fajitas, and while the seafood was cooked perfectly, the overall dish was a bit under-seasoned and left me wanting more flavor. That said, the menu has so many great options that I'd definitely come back and try something different. I usually eat alone as I am a loser haha. I have been here 3 times in the last 3 months so this is a culmination of a few visits. This is all my opinion take from it what you will. But this last visit was the worst visit thus far. For consistency sake I order the same entree each time. Most times it's cooked this time not even close as you can see in the pics. Their happy hour is always a good deal and people come for that. Their drinks so far have been terrible. No matter which one I order not very good granted I base my margaritas from the Rio. So I have a confession. I have ended up going here twice on accident. I literally thought it was another restaurant when I drove up and saw it was still Mexican, we went in for dinner. The second time we went, we legitimately thought we were going to a place thats actually down the road. I swear, this is what happens when you move across the country and only go places via Waze or memory. I can tell you what business is at the corner of Orleans and Superior in Chicago but can't tell you the name of the street at the end of our neighborhood. Anyway, having grown up in a family that made tostada's practically once a week and tamales on the regular, I know my Mexican food. Now I will say this place is a little more TexMex than I generally prefer but they do it well. The first time we went I ordered a burrito and it showed up covered in green chili which I definitely was not expecting but it ended up being pretty good. I would just ask for the green chili on the side if you're like me expecting a burrito with a tortilla on the outside to show up. The next time we went we got some fajitas and my husband and I both were very pleased with the flavor and the portion. I was chatting with the server and he's from the same state in Mexico as my family so it was nice to know he's familiar with the style cooking I'm used to. He recommended the fajitas and they didn't disappoint. Give them a try and see why they're always busy. Birria Tacos were cooked just perfect and loaded with meat! Service 10/10 - our server was so nice and literally knew everyone who walked through the door and greeted them with a hug! Food came out fast and server was attentive. Ambiance 10/10 - the restaurant is located just off Parker road. Lots of parking and fabulous murals on all the walls. We love Potrancas! We always get great service, and we love the variety of plates offered. We love the salsa, always a good start. The atmosphere is fun, and there's a patio when there's great weather. This is our go-to Sunday afternoon lunch spot. Filling, delicious food - I recommend the chimis. Very yummy lunch. Parking was in a smaller lot and there is an outside patio for warmer days. Walked in and seated immediately. I mentioned how I was so cold from being outside and the host was so kind and seated me away from the door. I didn't even ask for that but he did that and I was cozy. I ordered Horchata and was it was brought to me with fresh and crisp chips and a nice spicy salsa. The lunch menus was not expensive at all. I had the carnitas plate and also ordered was the enchiladas plate. That Lucy plate was HUGE! It was the size of a medium pizza and the food delivered to the table quickly . It was DELICIOUS! It wasn't too busy around 1pm and the check was reasonable too. It was only $39 for 2 meals and 2 drinks. I went to McDonald's and it cost me $36. Well Valentine Dinner was truly special tonight at Las Potrancas. The place was packed the service was over the top. Our waiter Louis provided us with some delicious choices for dinner. We selected Steak and Chicken Fajitas, Margaritas, and for dessert we had Sopaipillas. The dinner was so delicious, the atmosphere is so perfect. Las Potrancas was part of the Agave Challenge for Denver in June 2025. They had two drinks that were part of the challenge and I opted for the Mariachi. It had just the right mix of sweet, sour, and spicy. We only had drinks but many people were ordering the fajitas as the smoke wafted around the room. Murals adorn the walls--many of which are famous blues artists such as Billy Holiday and BB King--which are left over from when the location was known as The Blue Note. They were very busy. This restaurant was interesting to say the least. I thought it was odd there were only male servers and zero female employees were around. I came here with my family on a Tuesday night and it was pretty easy to get a table. The chips and salsa were okay. You could tell they just blended up some tomato sauce with spices and peppers, but left the seeds in the jalapeños because the salsa was extremely spicy. I had wanted the birria tacos for taco Tuesday that were on the online menu, but the server said that they weren't and then did not make an effort to accommodate my request anyway. I ended up getting ground beef tacos with corn tortillas for $2.25 each with a red sangria. The sangria had no flavor and the taco meat looked like it was just poured out of a bag on to the tacos after being heated up. My mom ordered a shredded chicken taco and the meat looked like raw tuna instead, so she did not eat it. The service was decent but the food and drinks were terrible. Not sure how this place has such good ratings but definitely not worth the money. read more

The Prickly Pear Margaritas are made with fresh prickly pear and not the premade stuff from the store and let me tell you it makes all the difference. The margaritas are strong but they come in several sizes so you can pick your poison. My quesabirria (birria quesadilla) was really yummy. My husband was raving about his carne asada tacos and my dad really liked the fajitas Acapulco. Everything that arrived at our table was fresh and full of flavor. We then tried the sopapillas and the flan for dessert. The sopapillas were just alright but the flan was delicious (the secret ingredient is a splash of Bailey's). The general manager is very friendly and extremely engaging and I would come back just to chat with him. You can truly tell he loves his job and cares about the customers. He brought my husband a sample of the blood orange margarita to try when he realized it was his birthday (it was strong but had amazing flavor). We used to love going here every Tuesday. They have a happy hour for three dollar a taco and it was really great then all of a sudden last Tuesday we show up and oh no the happy hours only from 3 to 6 PM and they forced put a 20% gratuity on our check the service was terrible. The potatoes that were part of my husband's meal were sour and gone bad. We told him he's like ok then you don't have to eat that part.
