This is a little hole in the wall restaurant with a little dining room, an outdoor patio & a little parking lot...but big on service. Great customer service in fact, the staff was very welcoming. We arrived on a week day for lunch & it was busy. Customers order & pay at the counter, then are given a number for the table. When your food is ready it is brought out to you. Also, there is a self service fountain drink station. Once seated we were given a complimentary bowl of tortilla chips & salsa. I enjoyed the chips & salsa, they were tasty. I ordered from the Lunch Special Menu & had the #3 which was one Cheese Enchilada & one crispy Chile Relleno served with rice & beans, all for $7.99! I liked the sauce on the enchilada & relleno but the relleno tasted slightly burned, (I should have asked for another)...it was crispy. The enchilada needed more cheese & seasoning and the rice & beans lacked seasoning as well. I'm hoping this was a "one off" experience, however I will return to try their food again. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is nicely decorated and is kept clean. I ordered two tacos, the lengua was tender but the al pastor didn't quite taste like al pastor. The agua de Jamaica and the horchata both tasted very good. Chile relleno plato was pretty decent. I think the relleno sauce could've been more flavorful. The birria tacos were FIRE! I wound come back just for these. The meat was so tender and tasty. The flauta plate was good although I would've liked some sauce on top since the flautas were friend pretty hard. Me and my man happened to be in Castle Rock on our way to the outlet mall, and I was craving something savory. I pulled up all of the Mexican spots in the area and I saw Dos Amigos. I scrolled through the menu and they had ALOT of options to choose from including their drink menu. Their atmosphere was more of walk up to the counter and place your order and take a seat. After waiting like 15 mins we got our food and it was very hot and fresh. I got a chicken chimichanga and it was REALLY GOOD. Great little Mexican casual restaurant. They have thicker chips here and tasty salsa. I love the street tacos here and the rice. I love that they have horchata . They have beers and cocktails. They also have Pepsi fountain drinks. Parking lot is very tiny. They have patio dining for warmer days. For 2 people with 2 entrees and fountain drinks it will cost about $29. Good, fresh food. The restaurant was bigger inside than expected and there was plenty of seating despite the smaller parking lot. The food took a little long to get, but considering it was made to order, it was worth the wait. Well I got here about 10:30 because I was just dying for some crispy Rihanna's which I got the plate I couldn't wait for 45 minutes to get the lunch specials which are like 30% off just pretty darn good deal I was pretty disappointed it just to me seems like they were pre-made and all they did was deep fry them and my rice and beans weren't very hot at all actually pretty average bland sauce. First the good. Wonderful cozy and small dinning room. Called in 2 handheld breakfast burritos to go. They were ready when we arrived 8 minutes later, good stuff! Burritos were large portion and authentic flour tortillas traditionally made with lard (awesome). However I couldn't find much chorizo in it, and certainly didn't taste like there was any in it. Didn't really find any cheese or potato either. Just eggs with no salt or pepper. The burrito wasn't rolled in the foil, more like folded like a taco. Tough to eat on the go. The green tomatillo salsa was amazing, the red had a sharp mesquite and chemical heat flavor, which I didn't prefer. The chips and salsa were great and had a little spice. The crispy rellenos were great and stuffed with plenty of cheese. Enchilada Was decent as was the taco. The tamal was really good too. She's a picky eater not usually wanting to take her leftovers, this time she asked for a Togo box. They give complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were crispy and the salsa was excellent with a little bit of heat. I had the Birria tacos with consume, it was so good! I have to say these were top notch! They had so much flavor. This little spot is one of my top places when he asks if I want Mexican food. It's unassuming and the servers are always friendly. Parking can be tight as the have a small private lot but we can find street parking. Their specials are a great price and the portions are generous. Today I tried the fish tacos. While flour tortillas are not my fav, I wanted to order something different than my norm here. The fish seems to be grilled and not breaded and fried so it's healthy. The taste was good. The rice tasty and I skipped the beans as I wanted to keep the carbs down. The chips and salsa hit the spot while we were waiting on our entrees. Overall another good meal. read more

I learned about Dos Amigos the other night meeting with a group of local ladies and they knew the assignment! I got the al pastor burrito with green chili on top, the cheese dip (maybe best ever had), my partner got the asada burrito and the chili fries. Holy cow you guys, the price point was too legit to quit and the flavor packed a punch, in the best way. We cannot wait to try them for breakfast, because it's going to be so good. Such as Cadillac versus Ultimate??? Yo, explain. The young chick at the counter was useless and regardless of whether you're old enough to drink or not, it doesn't matter. You can learn the menu. When I worked in a bar/restaurant I felt it was my job to know the food & drinks and what's in them. So, seems to me like they don't train the person who takes your order very well.
