The swordfish and calamari were delicious as well. And the chocolate lava cake.... I'd order 3 more if my body could handle it (also it takes a while for preparation, so make sure to order early.) Serving sizes are huge and great to share with parties of 5. Customer service is amazing too. David is a very friendly and fun employee. We should have known better going on Mother's Day. Very disappointing entrees, my NY steak was tough and tasteless and my wife's Chilean Sea bass was very salty. They sat us in the bar area and it was very hot and uncomfortable. Our waiter, Brent was great and attentive. Steamed mussels were delicious as was the Lobster bisque. Driven past this place multiple times but finally got the chance to eat here for a business meeting. They had a set menu we could choose from. Started with Cesar salad. I got prime rib with mashed potatoes and my friend for the Baja salmon with shrimp and rice. Everything was flavorful and cooked perfectly. Got creme brulee and cheesecake for dessert. I was a bit concerned with some of the reviews, but after our dining experience, Id definitely return and recommend to friends and family. Our server Megan was the sweetest, kindest most attentive staff member and really helped make our evening special. The front of house staff a young woman with dark hair was very welcoming and the view of the lake was phenomenal. My boyfriend got the prime rib with garlic mashed potatoes and I got the chicken sous vide with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus, we also opted to start off with coconut shrimp and lobster bisque. Don't get me wrong for giving it a 3, but I think customer service is poor given that it is a fine restaurant with a great view of the lake and potentially the sunset if you get lucky to be seated in front, or by the glass window. We didn't have any uncomfortable experience. However, people at the front desk are quite snobbish. From my perspective, as a customer, I would always want to feel welcomed. I came here with a group of 6 for dinner on vacation. We made an 8pm reservation on a Saturday night and there was absolutely no wait time to get seated. Our table was very crammed and not sturdy as the extension pieces on the top were loose. The ambiance is cute, dress up or down and I'm sure it's a lovely view when it's still light out. The hostess really did not want to give us a window table despite several being available, so we sat in a booth on the second level. (Still had a nice view, but...) Wow! At 4:30pm on a Saturday, this place was packed! Glad I booked this instead of the 7:45pm available on OpenTable so we could see the sun set over the lake. What a view! We started off with a couple libations: the torched apple Manhattan and the butterfly effect, made tableside which had all the bells and whistles. In retrospect, some were a bit off tasting too. 2.5/5 The crispy ahi bites cleared our sinuses with the raw jalapeño and the wasabi sauce. The presentation was very nice and we enjoyed this after getting over the spicy shock. 4/5 My prime rib was well marbled throughout and cooked a perfect medium rare. The accompanying mashed potatoes were also good. 4/5 The side of sautéed mushrooms was superb! I would definitely go with the large next time. 5/5 My fiancé got the sea bass which was a very good sized portion with the addition of the lobster risotto. We came in for a group dinner on a Thursday night - the service was lovely and kind although I will say food did take a while to come out (we were a larger group of 10). Our group ordered everything from steaks to pasta and fish, everyone was happy with their meals- was it the best steak -no, but it was good for a steak. I had the beet salad and cod, the salad was very different from your average beet salad and was very tasty. The cod- was very different from the regular miso cod dishes I've had- truthfully I should have known better then to order a "Asian inspired " meal from Chart house- it wasn't bad but I wouldn't get it again. My steak was decent but came with just a scoop of mashed potatoes--no vegetables, no garnish, nothing memorable. When I ordered a lemon drop, the server didn't even ask what kind of vodka I wanted, which tells me it was likely a cheap house pour. Would we come back? I ordered the prime rib, as did the rest of the table, and it came as just a slice of meat on a white plate with a small dollop of mashed potatoes (literally a dollop). We also ordered a side of lobster tail, which was simply that: a tail cut in half on yet another plain white plate. For the price, I'd say save your money. We love to head up here for special occasions like tonight's anniversary dinner celebration. We had such a nice relaxing meal looking out at that epic mountain side view of Lake Tahoe. Their happy hour during the week is amazing and we often hit that, but tonight we decided to sit in the main dining room for our special date night. We tried both soups and they both left more to be desired. The salmon I had was overcooked as was the lava cake. The flavors were good, but execution needs some work. I will say, it's a nice place to go for any celebrations. Mountain View's were nice and staff went above and beyond by preparing a custom menu that read "Happy Anniversary". We made reservations for dinner to begin right before sunset so we could enjoy the view, and I'm so glad that we did. The view was STUNNING! Pictures do not do it justice. We were in awe the entire evening! Aside from the great view, both the service we received and the food was impeccable. Adrian was our server. He was very knowledgeable and attentive! We loved the food. We ordered the crab cake, whipped ricotta meatballs, filet mignon, prime rib with truffle butter, lobster tail, and cheesecake. Our expectations were truly exceeded!
