We cruised around the area before heading out to Crab Island to catch the sunset and keep an eye out for dolphins. The whole experience was exactly what we needed--relaxing, fun, and just an all-around great vibe. Good drinks, great company, and an incredible sunset. After the sun went down, we cruised back to the dock, already talking about doing it again with another group. 5/5 experience--highly recommend! If you book, call and ask for Bailey. They also offer daytime trips to Crab Island if that's more your speed. Pro tip: Parking is limited, so consider taking an Uber or Lyft.

Boat holds about 50, so definitely not one of the bigger charters that's on the water.

The labeled life jackets are a nice touch. As we headed to the boat Chris got to know us a little and found out what type of experience we were looking for. At the beginning of the ride he asked what type of music we liked and he found a good station for the "turn up" to begin! It was a beautiful ride out and on the way he allowed us to do the Titanic pose and get pics of that lol. Chris was informed that we had one in our group that could not swim and did not want to be thrown into the water. He was amazing at making sure we got in a good ride without anyone being thrown off. Once she had had enough he allowed her to get back on the boat so that the other 2 of us could go for a faster ride. It was so fun!!! We both ended up being thrown off (which is exactly what we wanted). There weren't any rides scheduled after us, so on the return trip Chris made a detour to allow us to get up close views of some dolphins that were in the area! We saw about 3 or 4 of them swimming right next to the boat! It was beautiful and they captured it in our photos. We did opt for the photo package, and if you decide to do this ... I suggest you do to. They captured EVERYTHING. And who wants to worry about who's gonna take a picture when you're having fun and being thrown into the ocean?!? What I found exceptional about the photo package is that you are not given the photos immediately. You actually get a link to download them. This way they go through the pictures and get rid of any "junk" photos so you don't have to! You get amazing quality photos that will have you laughing for hours. We ended up with 82 QUALITY photos (in comparison to another activity we purchased a photo package for and ended up with 25 photos, but a couple were duplicates and another one was blurry/unusable). He even took the time to put the phrase "TURN UP" on one of the pics!!! It's worth it! Thanks again Captain Chris and crew for an amazing experience!

Interesting fact, the sand is that way from granite deposits that flow from North GA and beyond all the way down into the Gulf as silt. Because of the beaches, the area attracts more and more tourist every year and IMO is getting more luxurious as the years go by. I've noticed better restaurants, more aesthetically pleasing looking buildings and just a more upscale feel with each visit. I'm writing this here because I noticed many of the beaches along the 6 mile coast are PRIVATE. I'm not sure which beach to actually post this review but I find that simply horrible, ridiculous, backwards and restrictive! Who adds gates with Codes to a beach?!?! I can understand a handful of properties and major resorts but to secure majority of the coastline with Controlled Access? In my particular visit I stayed at a resort and had the codes for entry/exit but found many people having difficulty simply getting to the beach! I don't think they knew the beaches would have controlled Access! Even to exit, you need a code! That's shameful! It was frustrating to see people struggle with umbrellas/coolers and chairs only to have to find the Public Beach and have to walk back to their car. May I add the city also doesn't have any form of boardwalk to enjoy a long walk down the coast or some form of transportation to maneuver the public/private beaches! You're basically on your own! I'm curious Who/When/How that got approved because that's definitely some backwards N. Florida, My Property, ME, ME, ME planning! I'm not a resident but I believe some things on this planet are public and Imo a beach is one of them! Plus their has to be better ways to protect and maintain these beaches than blocking them off from the general public. Any who, for anybody planning a Trip to Destin, Please do your homework! Visit the website below which has hyperlinks for all the beaches which explains access points/fees/sizes of the beach and more details. I'll also attach a picture which shows a few of the main Public Beaches. It does appear the largest beach is Henderson Beach with1.22 miles of shoreline. One Last detail, We had many umbrellas and chairs however this was literally the 1st beach that didn't have Umbrellas for sale on the beach. Exceptionally clean, comfortable and well-equipped boat. Went out for six hours, could've stayed all day. Excellent with any age, experience and willingness to fish. Highly recommended by the other local fishing vessels as one of the most popular boats in the harbor. He expertly cleaned our fish, we had them on the grill at home within the hour after returning to harbor. His team watches the seas and will be certain to take you out when conditions are only favorable. __________ I've been on Charter fishing boats since I was a kid. My grandfather, father and my own kids have always added it to our vacation plans, sometimes determining where we go based on the fishing! If you are in the area to do some real fishing, the Stelluna is absolutely the perfect boat. Its size allows for everything to keep you comfortable, but makes it nimble enough to land monster sharks, mahi, tuna or cobia to a boatful of snapper, triggerfish and grouper. Captain Judah will impress you with his ability to chase trophy fish with the most experienced of anglers, but can also put first timers on nearly any type of gamefish they are willing to tackle. His knowledge of these waters and experience with this boat makes you immediately feel like you have just been invited to hang out with a buddy of yours who just wanted to spend the day fishing. Don't be surprised when you even find him with his own line in the water right next to you trying to hook you some more dinner. This is a man who loves to fish. We had an AMAZING time with Captain Judah and Scott. The Stelluna was the perfect size for our group of 6. We had 4 teenaged boys and 2 adults, Judah and Scott were great with the teens! We booked a 6 hour trip on the Stelluna. Within an hour of being on the boat my son landed a 5' Spinner Shark... it was awesome. We continued to fish for Red Snapper and caught a King and Spanish Mackerel. Unfortunately some storms rolled in so we had to head back to the docks after just four hours out. Captain Judah offered for us to come back out later that afternoon and we did. That afternoon we spent another 3 hours out and caught our limit of Red Snapper, one of them weighing in at 18.5lbs! This boat and crew are amazing, we went out on a 4 hour tour at 10am perfect for my family and youngster, on our way out we saw dolphins right off this bow of the boat one was a baby just playing in the wake from the boat with mother right next to it, we got lots of great pics and video. Next we dropped lines and started fishing and almost immediately hit on some fish small Trigger and King Mackerel, we fished for 4 hrs and caught over 12 fish, my mother caught the biggest a 20lbs King Mackerel, and we hit on 5-6 Spanish Mackerel my favorite, We even got to watch Golf The British open thanks to satellite on the boat, Capt Kyle was great put us on the fish and Danny was an awesome deck hand keeping fresh bait and tight lines in the water. This boat is awesome and I highly recommend, we had a great trip. read more

My wife , three daughters, and I have been traveling to the Destin area for the last five years. This year we decided we would go on a fishing trip. I have been eye balling this opportunity for several years. Being from Kansas I was worried that one or all of us might get sea sick. Captain Judah was very accommodating and made sure we had our sea legs before we got to far off shore. There were two reasons I picked the Stelluna. One was the fact that Judah has two young daughters and the other was the available bathroom on the Stelluna. Did I mention I have three teenage daughters!! We all had a blast. This was our 3rd and 4th Triips on Charter Boat Stelluna. We caught 9 sharks on the first trip and 7 sharks and two large amberjack on the second trip. Sharks ranged from 60 pounds to 200 pounds all released unharmed. We would have caught many more sharks on trip 2 but were too tired to fight sharks and asked to go "small fishing". Two big Amberjacks later and we were done. Captain Barbee is very fun to fish with and this is a very family friendly operation. I highly recommend this if you are in Destin with your teenagers as something everyone will enjoy together and never forget. By far the best part of our vacation. Stelluna was a super fun experience for our first time deep sea fishing. Captain Judah and First Mate Landon were both very friendly and helpful. Their experience in fishing is quite apparent and directly correlated with the success of our trip. On the Stelluna, I caught my first fish ever & we were just fishing for live bait! After that, I became used to catching 20+ pound fish every few minutes! We caught a several amberjack fish, lots of red snapper, and 2 of us even caught sharks! It was so much fun. Ps: If your family isn't used to boating on choppy waters , make sure to take motion sickness pills prior to your departure, or your experience won't be quite as fun as mine was. read more

Had a great time fishing with Kyle and Danny. They are very friendly and know what they are doing. This is the crew to go with if you want to enjoy some fishing while in Destin. They are very accommodating. If we weren't getting any bites at a spot, Kyle would move us to another one. Just let them know what you would like to fish for and they will do everything they can to get you on them. The only reasons we didn't catch more fish is because of sharks and us getting worn out trying to pull in fish. (blame the sharks not Kyle and Danny. They would control the sharks if they could). Captain Juda did a great job puttting us on the fish. The best part of our trip is the way he treated my 2 sons and wife. I have a 10 year old that doesn't run out of questions, Captain patiently explained every answer. My oldest is 16 and Captain kept him focused on the fish. The boys wanted shark, Captain got us 2 sharks. I wanted food, Captain got us snapper, mahi mahi, tuna, and king fish. My wife wasn't feeling well, Captain got us out of the waves! My friends and I were in Destin for a conference and were fortunate enough to stumble upon Stelluna after we were unable to book with another charter. Captain Judah was able to work us in last minute and took great care of us. We had a wonderful time, caught some Mackeral and a couple sharks, and enjoyed the company and the scenery. Capt Judah and 1st Mate Jake put us on the fish today. Even with a couple minor issues early on, we slayed the fish. Caught our limit of Triggerfish, had to throw a lot back due to size, along with White Snapper, Mingo, Red Snapper and Ruby Reds. We probably caught 50 fish or more in 4 hours. Best deep sea fishing experience I've ever had. I've been on two charters now with Captain Judah. Both times were a blast and successful! I've taken my kids with me ages 17, 10, 8. He was such fun with them. Super patient. He taught them exactly what to do, and they caught their limit. I'll definitely be booking another trip soon! read more

Captain Judah is the best. My family has fished the Destin area for many years and 3 years ago we chartered Stelluna. We are sold on this boat and will always fish with Captain Judah. We had an incredible trip in March and have booked another trip in late June. You can not beat the service and knowledge Judah provides. read more

The crew was great with the kids. They were able to drop lines and reel the fish in themselves. (Ages 8-12). We caught vermillion snapper (mingo), trigger fish, and white grunt "ruby lips". Good size fish to catch for the youngsters. After the crew cleaned the fish we walked down to Harry T's for a hook and cook deal. My only complaint would be that I would prefer the crew not smoke around the kids.

This company advertises mahi-mahi fishing, and August is one of the best times of year to target mahi. We specifically requested trolling, expecting at least an honest attempt at mahi or other pelagic fish. Instead, Captain Rusty ignored our request and made us bottom fish. If we had wanted a bottom-fishing trip, we could have booked a party boat for one-third of the price. The captain's attitude made it worse. My 80-year-old father-in-law politely said the radio was a little loud, so we asked for it to be turned down slightly. Captain Rusty responded by turning it off completely. My father-in-law has always dreamed of being a boat captain and simply wanted to sit up top and enjoy the experience. When we asked for a little more airflow, Rusty's response was, "I'd rather be hot." That comment perfectly captures his attitude toward his paying customers. Captain Rusty and the deckhands also smoked constantly around my asthmatic wife and father-in-law. They were unpersonable, dismissive and acted as if our presence was an inconvenience. After five hours, we had maybe three snapper to show for it. Of course, no charter can guarantee fish--but this wasn't simply bad luck. They advertised one type of fishing, ignored what we requested, delivered a much cheaper bottom-fishing experience and showed virtually no interest in making the trip enjoyable. This was an extremely expensive boat ride with a rude captain. Take your money elsewhere.

The captain did a great job getting us on the fish and knowing when it was time to move to another spot. For reference, the youngest kids on the boat seemed to be around eight or nine and didn't seem to have a problem fishing with a little help from their parents. Someone else on Yelp recommended bringing a rag to wipe their hands. This was clutch. I'd also recommend bringing some wet wipes. But, at the end of the day, it's fishing, you're going to get a little messy. Highly recommend!

We went out at 5:00 AM and quickly dropped lines in for some bait fish. A few bait fish were pulled in but after 10-15 mins we pulled out and went over to a bait boat that filled up the tanks of what was needed for our 6-hour outing. We then headed to where the snapper were, maybe 30-45 mins away. From there we proceeded to pull in one fish after another until we were limited out. It took less than 3 hours. Unfortunately that was the only thing in season at the time. Instead of heading in early we were taken to another area where the Amber Jacks were hungry and only 7-days away from being in season. The Amber Jacks were biting as well as the Red Snappers and we all got the opportunity to haul in at least one of them. They put up quite a fight and we all got some beauties. We took our pictures with them and then released them back to fight another day. Would recommend Lady 'Em and it's crew to anyone interested in catching!

I must say, I am completely baffled on how Boat Charter Destin has such a high rating as our family…read morevacation experience was a complete disappointment and a waste of our hard earned money. I am not one to post negative reviews, however this experience warrants it. I will add that I e-mailed the charter in an effort to address our experience and they have opted to not respond so I am happy to share our negative experience publicly. Funny how they respond quickly when you are booking a trip, but fail to respond if there is an issue to be addressed post trip. Our trip was scheduled to depart at 7am, however the boat was not prepared for departure and we did not get under way until 7:52am. Our Captain (Jeff) did not have the boat fueled, he did not have ice, nor bait ready for our trip. While "fueling" the boat, he managed to fill the fresh water tank reservoir with gasoline, requiring the marina to subsequently pump the gasoline out before we could depart. Obviously this did not instill confidence as to the captains boating capabilities or familiarity with the boat. Since we opted to place our personal possessions into the china toilet cabinet, all of our personal belongings ended up reeking of fuel vapors. After preparing the boat for our "fishing" trip, Jeff had to make yet an additional detour to obtain ice and bait for the trip. I will add he only obtained 20 bait fish for the entire trip. Knowing the complexity of the ocean and the likelihood that one will go through a lot of bait while trying to catch fish, why would you only get 20 baitfish and then put several of the baitfish on the hook in whole instead of preparing cut bait??? Being an avid fisherman, it is important to match bait size to hook size. If the fish are stealing the bait, put smaller pieces of the bait on the circle hooks so they can't just rip it off and they have to actually take the bait....or switch to J hooks. Now that we have finally spent an hour and a half of our morning anxiously awaiting for Jeff to have the boat ready for the fishing trip, we finally get under way. After getting to our first fishing spot, Jeff informed us we would be using three rods for our four person fishing trip until he got us on some fish.....which never happened. Since the captain invested in cheap fishing gear, there was an issue with one of the reels while attempting to land a fish and we only "fished" with three rods for the remainder of the trip. Should have been more prepared for this I would think. Without exaggeration, we literally had our lines wet and in the water for less than 30 minutes for the entire five hour "fishing" trip. In full disclosure, there were dolphins following the boat and made fishing a bit more difficult. Jeff would put us on a spot and we would drop our lines a couple times and we would again move to a new location which could take an extensive amount of time. We literally fished 4 spots the entire trip and I am not exaggerating when I say we only had our lines in the water for 30 minutes total. This is unacceptable! I hope anyone who takes the time to read our review will not have the same negative experience we did. Since we reside in Texas, we based our decision to use this charter after reading the posted reviews. We now realize our experience did not mimic that of others. You would think the charter would want to address our experience, but it seems they got their money and they are moving on to the next. I wish future customers the best!
