CCI has various health care related options, all fast tracked and have both day and evening options so you can still continue to work while attending school (granted that there are enough enrollees to facilitate both options) They have caring and knowledgeable staff who are experts in their fields, and give honest insight into the field that you selected to pursue. They have externships to actual facilities where you get real world exposure and training. You get out of this what you put in, so by no means are the programs easy, but you learn a lot. There are also financial aid options available to those who qualify. Most fields of study can be completed in less than 18months. I finished the Vocational Nursing program which was about 14months of actual school, and already am receiving job offers from several sites. If you're unsure, just stop by the campus and ask for Micheal Boyd. Take a campus tour, ask as much as you can before committing.

We also went through several instructors during the course. Although I passed my final exam, the school promised they would arrange an external clinical site so I could complete my required hours. Unfortunately, all of the available sites were already contracted with other schools, leaving me unable to finish my hours in time to take my state exam. Overall, it was a very disappointing and unprofessional experience, especially considering the amount of money I invested.

I am a graduate of DeVry University, Class of 2012. I feel DeVry University has a total lack of…read moreethics and abuses the trust of their student body. While the financial responsibility of higher education is unavoidable, I do believe that all those seeking that path should be fully and truthfully informed. As a first generation college graduate, my parents and I did not have any resources when it came to the finer points of navigating college enrollment. We relied heavily on the word of a recruiter who promised us full funding through student loans, and job placement after graduation. Towards the end of my course load I learned that I was out of federal funding. I had to find an alternative method of paying the roughly $20,000 that the remaining classes would cost to complete my Bachelor's Degree. This figure, in addition to what I had already taken through the FAFSA program, would put me over $70,000 in debt after graduation. The contract I signed during enrollment stated the tuition price for my degree was $55,000 because I live in California. After graduation I was offered an interview as part of their 'job placement'. The position was 20 hours a week paying $9.00 an hour. I was already working 40 hours a week making $14.00 an hour with full medical benefits. It is my strong belief that young people need to be better protected from institutions like DeVry University, who put their board members' pocketbooks above the success of their students and alumni. These for-profits need to be held to a higher standard of ethics and transparency that will allow others to be fully informed before signing a binding legal contract that will haunt them for the foreseeable future.

When I started back 4 years ago, little did I know I would be able to take on this new chapter in my education, starting with the goal of earning an Associates degree, let alone walking away with my Bachelor's as well. The staff at Laurus helps one from start to finish, answering questions and offering support to ensure you not only are at ease, but also with the intention of you succeeding in the goal you have set. Flexible classes, locations and programs is just a few key factors that led me to take on this challenge, and with myself finally reaching my goal and then some, I must say that this was a far better expirience than I ever expected. Every…read morecounselor my family has met has given false information and limited choices where there were alternatives available. In addition, the teachers are highly unmoving and do not even allow a late assignment when an immediate family member has been in the hospital or even passed away. Most recently, a teacher stated that it would not be equitable to treat students differently in such circumstances. Equality and equity are not the same thing; equity is giving people what they need, versus equality which is giving everyone the same thing. The fact that she did not understand that concept was especially frustrating and alarming considering it was a COMMUNICATIONS CLASS. I strongly urge any and all attendees to research the teacher's name and history on MULTIPLE sources, not just the college's. This institution depends on the ignorance of students in order to pass themselves off as "experts." I use the term "teacher" rather than "professor" since they are clearly not at that caliber. In this particular case, the teacher is Stacy Sloan Graham. We are required to take multiple courses in equity to obtain our degrees. However, this college does not seem to require their educators to practice it.
