CAUTION: Charter (Spectrum - Time Warner) now charges a full month even if you only have service one day. Reps told me today they notified all customers "in April or May" about the change which I was told today went into effect July 13th. I called to cancel my service on 7/22 and asked to keep it until the end of the month, the 31st. I was never told during the service-termination call that keeping service 5 days past my billing cycle would result in a full month's payment - I would have canceled earlier if I'd been told that would happen by the service rep. The company is hiding behind a BS disclosure buried in monthly billing wording to screw people out of additional dollars. When I complained to a manager today I got a $10 credit. Although the customer service seems lovely they charge unexpected charges! So beware. My internet had gone out unexpectedly, I had bought a new router and still no service. They had generously offered a technician to come fix the problem. My next bill was charged 45.00 for them to come out. I was NOT told this over the phone after TWO phone sessions with them. It's impossible to reach a supervisor that can get anything done so I am posting my saga here for the whole world to see. 11/7 I respond to a postal mailed circular to my business and agree to Internet service. 11/12 agreement check off is emailed to me and I check off OK 11/12 I call to set up install and tell the rep they have my address wrong. It's 100 N. 13th ST NOT 101 N. 13th St. They thank me and tell me they corrected it and set up appointment for 11/14 11/14 End of day no one shows up and I call back. Rep tells me they cancelled my install on 11/12 because of address change. No one bothered to call me and let me know. 11/15 Brian the sales rep sends new agreement for me to check off on. I check off and Brian tells me someone will contact me shortly to reschedule install. 11/18 I call back because no one has contacted me yet. Rep tells me they still show address as 101 even though in the notes they can see I called to correct them and that I checked off on 2nd agreement. 11/18 later that day I get a new install date of 11/20 11/20 tech Ignacio shows up and explains that nearest tap is too far away @600 ft. He says supervisor Frank Vendor @ 910-797-0094 will have a crew come out to survey and extend tap another 300 - 400ft. Someone will contact me within 24 to 48 hours. 11/22 I call back both Frank and Brian to see what's up because again no one called me back as promised. Frank does not reply to VM. Brain tells me he is going to his supervisor to see what's up. 11/25 I email Brian again to see what's up. He reiterates info from 11/22. I notice the email is CC'd to Clay Campbell. 11/26 I email Brian again asking about progress. 11/27 Hearing nothing from Brian I email again @ 2:28 PM. About an hour later I call help line. Rep says they will look into it, contact supervisor and Brian and have someone get back to me. 11/27 End Of day, 8PM EST no responses from anyone. 11/29 1PM I e-mail Brian Phillips and Clay Campbell for a status update and include this history of events. 11/29 2:15 PM I call pre-install line and speak to Debbie. I explain the situation and she places me on hold while she talks to someone to find out what's up. 2 min on hold and I get shunted to voice mail. I call back and ask to speak with Debbie. Rep says she is not at her desk at the moment. Takes my call back info and says she will get her to call me back. 6PM End of day and no call back or email contact from anyone. 12/02 3:21 PM and I have not heard back from anyone. Emailed Brian Phillips and Clay Campbell asking for an update. 12/03 2:00 PM I call pre-install and talk to Gary. Gary says everything is ready and schedules an install for Friday Dec 6th between 8AM and 12 Noon. 12/06 12:56 Tech Ignacio shows up 45 min late. Says the situation is the same as the last time he came out here on Nov 20th. He does not understand why they scheduled me for today when none of the required work to extend the tap has been done. He speaks to his supervisor Frank Vendor again. They reschedule me for Dec 20th. 12/09 1:45 Tech Ignacio shows up to say that he is looking for a tap that is supposed to be less than 200ft away. Says that 2 different supervisors have been out here twice and they claim a serviceable tap is nearby. Me and him spend about 45 min walking round the entire property and nearby warehouses and find nothing. Supervisor comes out and admits he was at a completely different property both times. The property is over 2 blocks away on a completely different street whos name and address are not even remotely similar to mine. When asked why he made no attempt to contact me when he was out he claimed "it's not my job". Perhaps if he made an attempt at communicating with the business owner he might have realized his mistake. One wonders what makes Charter Communications a "Communications" company. Install is rescheduled for 12/20 12/19 2:15 Called help line to confirm that install is still scheduled for 12/20 and they confirmed it but are confused because there is a note on the account that says underground work needs to be done before service can be completed and she sees no indication it has been done. Rep was Judith Rodriguez and she emailed me ticket number 5302717 regarding our conversation. 12/20 10:00 AM As expected, for the 4th time tech came out to do install and it was not possible because required outdoor work to extend tap another 300 ft has not been done. Four scheduled installs and almost two months later and we are still where we were on Nov 7th . Spoke with Debbie at customer service and she says outdoor work is now scheduled for Monday Dec 23rd. It's Jan 23 and I am still getting the run around including another missed appointment on 12/23 when no one showed up or bothered to call me. read more

This is the worst service ever! Run to Direct TV. Internet out five times this month. My life is spent waiting for the cable guy to fix my internet. This monopoly is unconscionable. Same issues with repair staff. Could care less about fixing the problem. read more

Extremely poor service and quality of Internet. When internet service failed, staff seemed to not be bothered and made little effort to correct problems. My married name has not been changed on my bill, despite me repeatedly requesting it, after 6 years! Prices that begin low are drastically raised- read those special deals carefully! I would not recommend this company for Internet service. read more

I have been a customer with then called Time Warner Cable (TWC) and now called, "Spectrum". I had the triple play service from July 2016 till July 2017. I originally cancelled my service in June 2016 and ported my existing TWC provided phone number. Due to internal technical issues with TWC, the porting of my number didn't go through first time. TWC then asked me to re-activate my Cable and Phone service to re-port my phone number. I did the same. Then, I had to do the same porting process two more times only to find that the porting was unsuccessful. In the mean time, 6 weeks passed as it is around 2 weeks for porting process each time. At the end of three tries, I decided to forego my phone number and moved on. At that time, I was told that there were no pending charges as I never used the re-activated service (Phone and Cable) as I already moved out of my house last year. Few months later in November, to my surprise, I received a note from a collection agency that I owe $61.20. I got surprised and called TWC. Then they forwarded me to recovery services where I spent around 2 hours to explain the problem. I was clearly told that the charges were then going to be waived. I then didn't deal with the issue anymore till now. Two Days ago, I received another notice from the collection agency. I then called TWC only to hear from them that there is no update from recovery services on my account that everything had to be waived. This is when I decided to formally lodge a complaint on TWC's worst management of services like this. They tell the customers something and do something different. read more
