Ok it's a bank right? What could I review- yeah you can deposit funds, withdraw, get loans etc .... Ok BUT the people make it different. Gerson, who I believe is a manager, if not the manager there. So personable, professional, friendly and very genuine. I walk in and all the staff are engaging, friendly, welcoming asking if you need help etc. Just a great team there. If you're looking for a new bank or just a place to become your regular branch then I recommend CHASE on Balfour, just near Safeway . They've just been remodeled too and it looks so much better, brighter, clean lines, new layout. Very pleasant to walk in to. read more

On 4/12/25 I was denied the right to cash an Employer check from the State of California at the Chase Bank @ 3100 Balford Rd, Brentwood CA. A check I always cash at my local chase without any issue. The teller that assisted me asked his coworker, if the check could be cashed, which she responded saying no and addressed to me saying that there was a "new policy in place which stated that the State checks are unable to be cashed, and a printed copy of the policy could be provided to me". I expressed to them that I felt discriminated, as it was never an issue before at my local bank. I had funds in my checking account and never had a bad check. When I requested the printed policy, the female teller suddenly had a change of tone and said that she was unsuccessful to locate such policy. She then left to request help at bankers section & stated she needed help with printing out a notice. She then approached the woman, who I overheard unprofessionally exclaimed "Oh my god, are you kidding me", whom I shortly found out that the woman was the branch supervisor. After some time the printed "policy" was handed to me, and I left the bank. I read the policy doesn't say that State checks can't be cashed. I went back to my local branch and was able to cash it. This branch needs to understand their own bank policies and be re trained. As for the the supervisor with the rainbow hair shame on you in the customer service you provide. You also failed to put on my complaint to Chase how you expressed your self when your colleague went to ask you for help. read more

I am frankly taken aback by the terrible reviews of this branch. Upon entry we have always received immediate acknowledgement and attention. Yesterday I went in with my mom for a wire to a checking account to family in Puerto Rico. It's been a very difficult ordeal for us trying find ways to send money due to power outage after the hurricane hir the island. I'm sorry I forgot that branch manager's name because she was especially helpful in directing us to get the assistance we needed. But I do remember the banker that helped us, Kulvinder. She helped us with answering our questions and concerns and the process of wire transfer took less than 12 minutes. On another note, they told us the day prior that we could get a similar service to a wire via Western Union at a third of the cost. Unfortunately because of a flight cancellation to the island that option fell through. We are very happy with this branch. read more

I would actually give it 0. My father has been a LONG-time Chase bank customer. He is aging now and wants to put my sister on his accounts. They recently went in to the bank and added her name to his accounts. The person they saw made it so and then went on a two-week vacation. But ... the "powers that be" above the local branch decided there may be "elder-abuse" related to the new name on the accounts and put a suspension on them. My sister went to the bank, after receiving a derogatory letter, and was told by a very rude lower employee that there was nothing he could do, and her name was not on the accounts. She left in disgust. Today we met with the original back-from-vacation employee that she and my father had spoken with, and he understood the mess up and tried, in vain, to remedy it for us. One of the accounts that had been suspended has money deposited into it and payments paid from it. He called the "powers that be" and tried to re-open at least this one account. No luck. We are left now having to figure out which direct deposits have now been rejected and which automatic bill payments have not been paid. We were lucky to get our 91-year-old dad into the bank the first time to set up putting his daughter's name on the account. Having to get him there again today was not easy. We closed our accounts and will seek out a credit union immediately. We cannot recommend Chase bank to anyone. I told the back-from-vacation employee, who really did try to remedy things, albeit too late, that his co-worker lost a $250,000 account, and he might want to seek employment with another, more reputable bank. read more

I know this is a bank but c'mon we can do better. Now I know why this location has such a low yelp review. Every time we come here it takes Fooorrrreeeevvvveeeerrrrr to see a teller. I see they want you to do everything via an ATM but sometimes you need to see a teller. Not sure if it's staffing or leadership either way it's a long wait here. Chase got us with that free $125 offer when you open an account. That's quite an incentive! We actually opened the account in Hayward, but having just moved to town, we needed to change our address and order checks with the correct address. I was assisted immediately by a young man standing near the front of the entrance with access to a computer. I thought I'd have to sign in and wait for the next available person but he took care of me right then and there. How easy! He didn't try to sell me fancy checks or anything. Simple is all I need, simple is what I got. I was in and out of there in a jiffy. I think I'm going to like being a Chase customer. read more

The worst experience I have ever had at a bank. I deposited a check Monday. I advised my account was overdrawn on Wednesday, even though, it said the funds would be available after the next day when I made the deposit Monday. I go into this branch to see what happened, as I had made a large payment based on being told it would clear. The Manager told me I had to prove the check cleared from the institution, or he would let my large payment bounce. Even though, I have a credit card with a 25k limit, been a client for many years, he could care less. Ironically, they cleared a check from the same institution already that I deposited Tuesday. They were either too inept or the manager was too lazy, to check that my check indeed cleared. I had to rush home and take a picture on my account, and take time off of work, then go back and show him that indeed it already cleared. They are fine with putting a hold on funds even though, they have already received them. I guess this helps their bottom line - time value of money. He was totally ok with bouncing the funds, unless I could prove they have them. After I show him that it was cleared, then he tries to be nice, vs. before, when it was like drinking water, if my account was overdrawn or not by their lack of action. Needless to say, I will avoid ever going to this branch again. Just wish it wasn't such a hassle, or I would change banks. read more

I was looking for a home loan and was having no luck. Googled "home loan" and the name Fred Hines - Chase kept coming up. I finally gave him a call. I was looking for a refi so i could update my home - that was not going to work. Fred called me back a day later (on a weekend) to let me know he had a solution for me. We went through specifics of everything and he found a loan that worked for me. I then went in to meet with Tonya to set up my account for the loan. Everyone I spoke with from Fred to Lorainne (out of state) and Tonya, I knew I was in good hands. They are all very knowledgeable and make sure I understood all the steps. I feel very confident about getting my loan through Chase. Great group to work with. read more

This review isn't just a reflection of the branch, in fact, it's more a reflection of corporate policies and gaffs. We have two personal accounts and three business accounts. When opening the last account, the branch said the auditors had noticed our mailing address was for a private mailbox and the bank insisted we give a physical address. We argued over their need to know and I left. They froze the account. I gave them the physical address while expressing my disdain for their insistence on sticking their noses in MY business. Next thing I know, my statements and a debit card show up at the physical address where mail has been stolen facilitating the need for the private secure mail box address. This bank is not concerned with your business' security nor the security of your personal funds. I highly recommend other banks read more

Just awful customer service! I work for Public Storage and had to travel to different branch because other chase bank was temporarily closed to take care of a business deposit. It seemed they did not want to help me and the person I dealt with her name was Artemisa and another teller , they were very rude and said they needed to see my ID, I did not have a problem with that but they kept insisting like they did not want to help me at all. Been in there about 15 times. Each time you can expect to wait 10+ minutes for THE teller, not A teller. There is only one. When there is two, she is doing something else. But, they do have a person standing around welcoming you in and telling you to use the new high dollar atm. Every time I am in there I feel I need to write a review. Don't put your money in this bank. Their online customer service is ridiculous. I kept 1500 dollars in an account so that my son can have a high school account. Every month they charge me a 12 dollar fee and every month I have to have it reversed. They keep saying my account went down to 1488. Uh...yeah..because you guys too 12 dollars out. Bank of the West is a much better back. I still have an account there--and have for 20 years and they never disappoint. Not sure what I was thinking giving chase a try. Live and learn. read more

Why can't I leave zero stars? I think customer service is a fictional idea that this branch believes only exists in fairy tales. For one of the busier branches, there is only one teller typically open to assist customers. Five people may be working, but only one window open. Somebody may come out to try to drag people out of line to try to persuade them to use an ATM machine. Why doesn't that person just get behind a window to assist customers the old fashion way? I tried this "new & improved" ATM once after being drug out of line just to find that it didn't work for me and was put back in the line I started in. Lines were so long the other day, I walked out right after I walked in. If you enjoy waiting in long lines, go to this branch. If you want to see what real customer service is, then try giving the Discovery Bay branch a try. read more

So here is an update after the overdraft fiasco and misinformation I wrote a letter to the CEO of Chase and I never expected to hear back from anyone. I actually heard back from the executive offices of Chase and I spoke with a representative that reimbursed 140.00 in fees, but that was not what I was looking for. Because Wamu and Chase merged there is a learning curve that resulted in misinformation given to me by the phone banking center. In a nutshell deposits go in first and debits after the fact, if a check is deposited on a non chase account if it is in he same region it clears the next day. Bottom line is everything is debited and credit, reconciled in the wee hours of the night thus resulting in no overdraft. It is amazing what having the wrong info can do to you and the stress it can cause. So for now I am giving Chase 3 stars for resolving the issue. I have been with this institution over 23 years, as far back as Great Western Bank and I really did not want to end it, so for now Chase will remain my bank. read more

The worst bank ever, THEY sent me an offer that I went in for. Kimberly set me up and I was on my way. I didn't get my promo $ and when I called and left a message I never got a call back. I called corp. office and they said they can't help me and I need to go into the branch. It's been a month now and I finally got a hold of someone,mike ( he helped me as far as he could) and he sent me to the supervisor. She said that it's my fault for not knowing that the promo $ will not work with the student account. How was I supposed to know that? She said that kim was on leave and she has no record of anything. She was so rude on the phone and made me feel like my money is not good there, and I should just go somewhere else. she said that she can not help me and so I closed the account. I was greeted as I walked in, explained what I wanted, and was told someone would be right with me, and they were. I received excellent service from Kulvinder Sangha. She provided me with all I needed in an expeditious manner. Give this branch another chance. It looks like they were very understaffed in the past, but are fully staffed now. read more

HORIBBLE EXPERIENCE!! I went in to ask questions about my account, and this banker was so rude! He first comments about my weight, how I look different on my ID....then when I try to explain my questions he started interrupting, I don't know if this is how he talks but it seemed to me as he was yelling all my personal questions out so everyone could hear my personal info....I asked him a question and as an answer he said that all banks do that...well I used to be a personal banker before and that's a horrible answer! I was so frustrated that I decided to close my account! He made me feel stupid as of I didn't understand what he was trying to tell me, and he kept trying to convince me to not close it... No!
