I came here last week for the first time ever to have a document notarized. This service is free for members with certain accounts. I have no complaints, and it was a pleasure coming here. I had to come here because the other Pacific Service Credit Union I normally use, in Pleasant Hill, had their notary in training, so a nice teller there directed me to this location, which was only a few miles away. He said that all the managers here were notaries, so there should not be a problem at this location. This first thing to note is it is in a corporate center off of Diamond Boulevard on Willow Way, which is a convenient location (near retail and the freeway). The grounds are well manicured, and it was like walking through a beautifully forested garden to get to the front door. There were things like bridges that crossed creek beds, tables with umbrellas, stone pillars, wood railings, and an assortment of plants! I loved smelling the freshly cut grass. There was also plenty of parking. Inside, the location is different than most banks or credit unions. There are no barricaded windows. Everything is open, and the space is more quaint, smaller than what banks used to be. The teller quickly saw me, and directed to wait for the manager, who was with another customer. I sat in a plush waiting area with four seats. I forget to check if they have wifi, but I'm pretty sure they do. I noticed a free coin counter (think Coinstar) on the wall, as well as free shredding (limit one box). I used it in the past when it was a Coinstar at the old Pleasant Hill location. After waiting a while for the manager, she came and greeted me and apologized for taking so long. She verified my ID, added a California notary form to my provided New York State one since she had to do that to meet her legal requirements, and took my thumb print at the end. It was a quick and painless process. I was very happy how everything went, despite the wait. The only thing I would recommend is a little bigger signage directing customers to the branch location. It is confusing, because they also have the Pacific Service Credit Union corporate headquarters here, but in another part of the building. But at the same time, larger signage would make the grounds look gaudier, and there was probably a lot of user error on my part, lol. The branch is located in the rear. I parked in the front, but it was actually fun walking through the beautiful landscaping to get to the entrance. The nearby retail locations on Diamond Boulevard have become known for crime (think The Veranda), but this location felt very safe, as it was a corporate area. Today, I went to into the office to close my account that wasn't being used at all. Since they don't have low mortgage rates we were not able to refinance with them so I want to close the account. But Wow, the front desk lady was friendly at the beginning and once she heard I want to close my account. She became mean and unfriendly. Just really shocked how fast her attitude changes And both my husband and I felt like being mentally abused. read more

People Before Profits is not how Pacific Service does business. I was a customer of theirs for many years, many loans, in fact, my grandfather was a 37 year retiree of PG&E - my whole family is members of Pacific Services. I'd say they are more like fair weather friends. After being a member for many years, I had to unfortunately file for bankruptcy and claim my Pacific Service credit card. It was not a lot of money. Instead of sending me a notification that they were cancelling my membership, they embarrassed me in a lobby full of customers by denying a transaction and cashing my account out. To this day, I am still a customer of other institutions that I had to file in my bankruptcy. Instead of helping a long term customer through a tough time, Pacific Service made it worse with public humiliation. read more

For the past 58 years I have been a member of the Pacific Service Credit Union. First joining in 1966 when I was employed by PG&E in Saint Helena, Calif. In all that time they have been there for me. Their service has been exemplary. All my banking business has been by phone. There service representatives are polite, very knowledgeable, always willing to go that extra step to help me. Whether getting a loan for a car, or a mortgage, CD's, or just for some advice on my credit card interest rates and rewards. They are there. Recently I cancelled the purchase of a used car. I requested a refund of my deposit of $2500 from the dealer. They informed me it was in process. Then they started to ignore my emails and texts And 10 days later still nothing. No credit. So I contacted PSCU and the representative advised me to file a dispute and they would assist me in resolving this problem. I emailed the dealer, the same day, about my filing a claim with my credit union and the next day the credit was applied to my credit card. Thank your PSCU for always being there for me. read more

DO NOT go to Pacific Service Credit Union in Concord, they are horrible, especially Monica Perez in Loans. My circumstances changed and haven't been able to pay my loan on time because I lost my job and tried to get a hardship loan that would possibly put my loan on hold and just pay the interest rate or get a lower payment amount since I am having a hard time until I can start my new job, but no Monica Perez in loans was very rude and condescending stating that she couldn't help me but to come back when I had a job, and just continue to pull money out of my retirement to pay otherwise she will repo my car. DO NOT USE THIS BANK they will screw you over. How is it when I need help and am experiencing a hardship and put in a loan for it I can't get it, but I can get it if I had a job then I can get the hardship loan, how does that make sense. read more

I have been with a higher rated credit union in the area since 1994 and have had one too many unsatisfactory experiences there. I chose PSCU because they take zelle and are in my area. So far opening an account at the concord branch was really fast and east. I started my application online and they were able to pull it up and complete it in the branch. They've streamlined the process on their website for refinancing your auto loan with them, and even show you the products and rates you qualify for while you explore the website. They offered 5% less interest refinancing my auto loan than Patelco did. Having a fresh start with a new credit union just feels great too. read more

Unacceptable customer service. There is no immediate way to report a lost or stolen debit card and no immediate way to talk to anyone about a merchant problem. I have been on hold for more than 10 minutes twice during business hours to report my debit card lost, still no luck. I sent a message about the problem hours ago. Also no response. read more

Stinks sucks they let me open an account and then when I put money into the account they close my account told me I had to wait 10 business days for them to send me a cashier's check and then five additional business days for it to arrive would not tell me why they close my account would not give me any information or reason for doing so and left me stranded with no money for 2 weeks still haven't got it actually read more

This experience happened two years ago, so take it with a grain of salt. I applied for an auto loan, quick and easy process, right? Absolutely not. It felt like they suspected me of fraud or something because no matter how much info I supplied to them (multiple year's worth of bank statements, tax returns, previous employers info even though I've been an independent contractor for a decade, and my credit was fine @ 725) it was just never enough. They finally "approved" the loan for $40,000 on the stipulation I put down 20%. Okay fine. To even get this loan "approval" took 10 entire days through Pacific Service because they just kept on asking for more and more new information. I go to the dealership the next week, pick out a car, and when they go to run the info on the loan...the loan status is still locked out due to "missing income proof" despite me literally carrying the pre-approval letter. Instead of even attempting to contact Pacific to fix the issue, the guy at the dealership got me a loan with Chase Bank for 1/3 the APR and no down payment stipulations in about 3 minutes. I haven't been back to Pacific Service since, and I never will. read more

I called Customer Service and an "angel" answered my call. Her name is Vanessa and she's new (3 months). She answered my questions politely and nicely as If I was talking to my bestfriend. Her customer skills and knowledge of her job is excellent and I can tell that she loves what she's doing by the way she helps and treat me. I don't have much money in the bank but she made me feel like I'm a major stock holder of the bank. She reminds me of Ms. Janet Bravo-Gonzalez, the Arc-angel of Awesome Service and Customer Care who always find time to help and satisfy any customer who needs help. Update: Although I was told I would be contacted after the situation was looked in to, I was never contacted again regarding the problem. Their rates have ballooned over the last year and the customer service is no longer what it was. I am completely in awe right now with how this credit union went from "best bank to ever bank with" to "better put your money else where". We plan on opening new checking and savings accounts this week. That also include all 3 of our kids desperate savings accounts that we have with them. read more

Have since left this credit union as they started to charge many fees and act like a normal, deep pocketed, greedy bank. My husband is probably going to leave as well as the online app is the WORST! It literally never works when he signs on and it is so frustrating. He rarely has access to his money online via venmo due to this issue that should not be an issue. LAME read more

I have been happy with PSCU for years, but now they are giving me problems with online transfers. Even though you have to provide a SSN to open an account before you are given account numbers, apparently just having the account numbers to transfer to and logging into your account isn't enough for PSCU, who want "proof" that I "own" the account. I have never had issues with any other bank setting up online transfers, and can't understand why this particular one makes it such a hassle. One of the reasons why people bank online is because it makes it easy to transfer money between accounts, a concept apparently not appreciated by PSCU. They are a great bank in every other way, but when it comes to online banking they could use improvement. read more

The place was CRAZY busy the first time, but I didn't have to wait long. And today the counter staff were SUPER helpful and professional. PSCU came to my work and promoted their services. My coworkers advised me that they have savings account at the CU and it a good place to park the money. After hearing that, I opened an account. On 7/27, I "BOUGHT" a cashiers from Chase for 10k and deposited it into the CU. I check my online account, it said that they will release the check on 8/1. Which is reasonable, a typical 3 day hold. On 7/28, I deposited another 10k in cash. At that time, I was a happy customer. August 1st came and gone but they still haven't released my cashier check. I reached out to them and was advised that there is a 7 business day hold on all checks. Regardless. WTF?.?? Do they understand the definition of a cashiers check? I bought it, its paid for!!! Being super frustrated with the CU I wrote a personal check from the CU and deposited back into Chase for 10k. Chase released the personal check/funds the following day. Im waiting for the CU to release my cashier check so that I can return the money back into my Chase account. I will be closing the CU account. PSCU is a great place, if you want a bank to control your money. Tell you when and how much you can use. NO THANKS. Im sticking with Chase. read more

I filled out an application to get my truck refinanced and got an immediate call once it was approved, which was awesome! But once things started to get rolling, I some how ended up on the back burner... Everything became unorganized, my calls were being ignored, I was working with a different agent just about EVERY time (which is how things get really confusing), and I got hung up on. I was so excited in the beginning because I thought I scored with an awesome credit union with amazing service and urgency, but I spoke way too soon.
