could not sign in my chase app to view bank statements after updating the phone number. system instructed me to call some internet security team. for 10+ days, they kept putting me on long holds, and refusing to unlock my account despite i correctly, repeatedly answering all their questions. or, after i passed their security grills, they would give congratulatory promises that my account would be unlocked automatically after days, but it turned out all lies. search the internet, you can read similar or more horrific stories as such. seems that these security people find it more convenient to indefinitely defer the customers to their colleagues, for none of them want to take on any responsibility. customers end up ping pong balls, or cans forever being kicked down the road. after much time was wasted, i visited this Chase bank in person, and was assisted by banker Kelsey Ruan. Kelsey was cordial, patient, with superb listening skill. She grasped the nature of the problem fast, and started to make some phone calls. her internet colleagues put her on long holds, and routine bureaucratic stuff. yet despite her gentle voice, Kelsey was persistent and tough when it got down to business. even after my account was unlocked, Kelsey insisted her security colleagues to hold, while going thru with me to ensure that my account was not compromised, and that i would have no trouble signing out and in again. trivial thingy, but Kelsey was very much attentive to detail. the receptionists and tellers i encounter at this Chase branch are all helpful and friendly people. ample parking facilities too. i would highly recommend. read more

My 88 year old mother went into the branch to resolve a matter regarding a payment taken from her account but the receiver did not receive. She was told to come back the following day as they were short staffed that day. I was 2:00 and 4 people waiting to be seen ahead of my mother and the bank does not close until 5:00. This is one of the closest Chase banks to me where I like going to. It's nearby Planet Fitness, but also nearby In-n-Out + Krispy Kreme in case you want to treat yourself after depositing/withdrawing some cash! I tend to not want to go to the teller window as much since my transactions are typically pretty fast. I use the ATM's outside and inside the bank depending on where I enter. This Chase Bank has a good amount of parking spots nearby, which is nice. I haven't seen the lot fill up at all, so you're destined to get a parking spot (maybe not towards the front of the bank, possibly more on the side near the two entrances). There are 3 ATM's outside (2 short, 1 tall one - they both offer $100, $20, and $5), and two ATM's on the inside that offer more denominations ($100, $20, $5, and $1). Whenever I'm inside the bank, there's usually a max of 5 people in line, but it does more fairly slow as there's only 1 teller at the window. I'm only giving this a 3 star rating as I've had issues with the ATM's before. Sometimes there isn't enough money in the ATM when I'm trying to deposit or withdraw money, and it ends up not giving me anything at all besides a receipt to call a number. This has happened at least 3-4 times this year tbh. I usually have to call Chase Customer Service and file a report to get my money back, which typically takes a few days to a week. It sucks since the receipt that it provides doesn't list an amount you're trying to deposit/withdraw. So once you make an incident report to Chase, you have to be specific on the total dollar amount. I would recommend trying the inside ATM's which would be better, but it's a hit or miss if it ever does that to you. The staff here do try to add paper signs onto the ATM's to notify Chase bankers that the ATM's don't work, but it's not all the time. I like this branch because this was the first branch in Daly City in which I never have to wait in line for long periods at a time. I also find the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful in attending to customer needs. When I first started coming to this branch there was a young lady who worked her that was very helpful every time I came in. Here last name was Bond. She was so nice in assisting me with my account every time I came in. Unfortunately, she is no longer at this branch. Despite the change in staff this branch is still my go to when traveling through Daly City. Oh, the ATM is high enough here so that I do not have to bend down to punch in my PIN as well. I only wish the parking lot was structured better. Just a lot of slopes and such which makes getting in and out a bit strange!!! read more

I needed to close out my safety deposit box. The box had already been emptied. I was simply returning the two copies of the keys and making sure the box was definitely empty. I thought I would be in and out in a jiffy, but I ended up waiting over 45 minutes. Returning the keys, making sure the box was empty, and signing two forms took all of 10 minutes. Then, the teller told me I had to wait for the personal banker to close out my account on the computers. I didn't really understand why she couldn't do it, but I didn't really have much of a choice. After waiting for more than half an hour, it was finally my turn, and the personal banker asked for my ID, and then he was done. All this happened in less than 2 minutes. I was incensed. WHY COULDN'T THE TELLER CHECK MY ID?!?!?! read more

I came to the bank because I needed to get cash. 1 hour and 2 trips later I received my money. 1. All 5 atms were out of cash 2. All 3 out door atms were out of cash and there is nothing to let you know upon looking at them that they were empty. I took 10mins figuring out each one was empty. Why not put something up to let us know there's no cash? 3. Went inside and there was a long line probably because all their empty atms. With numerous open tellers only 2 people were working and 2 more people were at their desks leisurely staring at their phones. Why not get some more people working the tellers when you have no cash in the atms and lines are in excess of 30 min waits?? 4. After 30 mins in line I had to leave to an appointment as there were still 3 people ahead of me. 5. When I came back and told the teller all 3 outside atms weren't withdrawing cash she responded nonchalantly, " ya we ran out of cash." "We'll probably have more tomorrow." So in the meantime what can you do to make the customer experience more accommodating??? I shouldn't have to waste 1 hour, 2 trips, to get MY money. I was there last Thursday's after work around 5-6pm because I received a text message of fraud alert on my credit card! I tried to call Chase, waited for 10mins, no one pick up the phone. I thought it might be easier just go into the bank talk to a life person! The banker was very friendly, sincerely and nice. She was very patience listened and helped me to solve my problem promptly. I had no issues with the tellers, but the banker was rude and told me that I'm making a big deal out of changing a PIN number. Obviously he did not put himself in my position with me having issues with my card. It seems he's only working for a paycheck and doesn't care about his customers. I've changed my PIN number three times and having a chase bank card is useless if you can't use it. He told me to just pick some PIN number I didn't want. It made me feel that he was rushing me and making my own decisions. Please note I did pick a number within the guidelines and still he said I could not use it. I've been here before for information and the bankers rush you for a decision and it feels shady. I'd rather go to other chase banks if you're trying to get more info. read more

I've been banking here for awhile now. I love the service at this particular location. The tellers are friendly and knowledgeable. This location has lots of Street parking and a parking lot that's barely packed. The best time to go is in the morning Monday through Thursday. I noticed that it gets really packed on Fridays and Saturdays. The ATM is open 24hrs. Is a block away from tue police station so getting money during late nights is not that scary. All the new ATMs that they have don't require you to use envelopes when depositing cash or checks making it faster than depositing from those old ATMs. You can also pay your chase credit card on their ATM. I've been going to this location since it was WAMU and their services stayed the same when they switched over to CHASE so there for I give them FOUR stars!!!! read more

All machines are not giving out cash, no signs on the walk-up atms so there are multiple people running around with their heads cut off. Inside, no eye contact from tellers, only 2 tellers open with more than 15 people in line. I do business with 3 Banks. B of A, Wells Fargo and Chase. I ranked Wells Fargo the best in customer service. B of A has problems with staffing. Chase was average but that was BEFORE my experience today. There is a cashier name CHARLES HAGER who works at the branch in Junipero Serra who was super rude. I just didn't have time to go down to his level and ruin my day because I still have a lot of things to do! Otherwise, I would have talked to their Manager. I have a job that Customer Service is my priority. For me, without my valued customers, I would not have a job. Although I cannot rate CHASE just because of one bad apple but if he continues to deal with Bank customers, you will find customers leaving and giving you this kind of review!! I am NOT sure if it's because I am Asian and he is white! I just think CHARLES HAGER should work at the Banks supply room or warehouse where he doesn't have to interact with customers. Easy parking, couple atm and indoor kiosks...is usually quick about 5 minute wait..teller line is quick...but waiting to talk to a banker is like waiting your number at the DMV. I am have been sitting here for over 15 minutes. Bankers are either talking to each other and walking around or on their phones. There's no one in que. At least one banker went to help teller line. There should be a better system for the bankers or they should hire more bankers to keep things rolling. 20 minutes now...and still waiting for the bankers to finish up their water break gossip corner. read more

On July 2012 - September 2012, we worked with Jim Willet, Eunice Hong McLaughlin, and the Chase Mortgage team for our first home purchase. We were very disappointed by the overall service that Jim, and the team provided us. Our experience was very difficult to say the least. Jim and his team caused us many headaches and heartaches through a very stressful process. Many of the issues we came across included: * Chase could not deliver on agreed dates and was never able to reach many of their promises. o This caused us to constantly amend the contingency due dates and were penalized $100/day for about 20 days (8/30/12 - 9/17/12) for not Closing Escrow on time. * Chase continuously asked for information that we had already provided them. o We had to answer the same questions multiple times and provided information/documents repeatedly. * Chase did not respond in a timely manner with time sensitive issues. o They would not respond to our real estate agents or us when we needed answers regarding due dates and many other questions in a timely manner. o They waited to give us pertinent information even though we requested that they inform us as soon as possible. * Chase was not proactive. o We and our real estate agents often took the initiative to ask pertinent questions and information. Generally speaking, we are very dissatisfied with our experience with Chase in regards to our home loan. We felt that their communication and customer service was quite disappointing. Chase was often over-confident on what they can actually complete and deliver, which then led to difficult situations for us, the customers. As customers, we performed and delivered all the information Chase requested in a timely manner and were readily available for any correspondence. We hoped that as the service provider, that Chase had acted in the same manner, but this was not the case. read more

This Chase bank has horrible customer service. I wanted to open up a bank account for my daughter and the teller said NO. Another teller told me it's because its after 4pm, the bank closes at 5pm, and the process takes about an hour... I'm sorry but I've opened my own accounts at Chase and they do not take an hour. AND the thing that really irritated me was that the other teller I went to to get change, didn't even bother counting my money. When I asked him to, he looked annoyed and put his phone down. He took me to another area, the window was blocked and he couldn't even remove the black window for me to see. i had to tippy toe to see. And instead of putting my money in the envelope, he just tossed my money at me with an envelope and said here. RUDE!!! Never going here again. The SF locations are much more friendly and have a good concept of what customer service means. Those tellers should not be working there or dealing with guests. read more

I don't bank with Chase, but I do have a Chase Visa credit card. When it comes time for me to pay my bill, I have recently started to pay it in person. Every time I've come to this bank, the tellers and workers always seem to be very attentive and cordial. That's what keeps me coming back as opposed to paying online or by mail. read more

The best bank that I've had hands down! Definitely defeats B OF A and WELLSFARGO. This is the only location I go too, even if I were to go across town and a chase is right there, I will go to this location instead! The service is great, they are fast and they always check up on their customers waiting in line. I love that if I accidentally overdraft, they give me a chance to pay the negative balance first before charging me a draft fee! Love! And there isn't any fee surprises at all. Very incompetent bank and a very incompetent branch. Somehow my check card stopped working. It was not expired and they did not give me any notice. Imagine having to withdraw cash all the time to do basic errands like grocery, gas and other shopping. I called several times to request a replacement card and they would tell me it was in the mail. Two months later, after complaint letters written with no response and numerous visits to the bank, still no working check card. When it was time to close the account, they were doing all they could to prevent me from doing so. They were telling me that I had other fees that i owed and I could not close the account until those fees were paid. What fees? I have no outstanding checks. It was taking me so long to close the account that I almost screamed at the person. Talking to the manager was no help either. This bank branch is a hassle. Lines are super long during pay periods and there are not enough parking. Customers race to get in line and sometimes cut infront even with the ATM machine outside. Ghetto! read more

I really resented when Chase took over Wamu for a 'firesale' price and in all honesty still bank with them, reluctantly, because they pretty much have ATMs all over and it is convenient. My opinions have somewhat changed because now I help my elderly mother and the staff have been tremendous and you know how things can easily confuse some people and I don't have first hand knowledge about her banking. I have found the personal bankers to be awesome.... give a great shout out to OLEG! He is THE MAN! That man is so patient and kind in helping my mother untangle this months long banking problem with frequent visits and calls from my mother and he is unfailingly kind and helpful and accommodating. He, in my opinion, exemplifies what it means to be professional in all aspects of his conduct and professionalism. With this new regard for Chase DC, I went in last week to get a print out of my last two months of checking account statements and since this was done by the tellers in the past I went to the counter. There was no one else in the bank because it was the middle of the day. So I didn't have to wait in line and the tellers responsibilities have changed and given over to other people and was told by the teller that I could ask the woman at the front podium or what looks like a hostess stand next to the front doors. This woman was middle aged, small, white, wore glasses and had the temperment of a snake. I asked for this information and she started grilling me if I got my statements, could I check on-line, etc. and with such an attitude that I was shocked. so she goes reluctantly to get this information and I am genuinely dumbfounded because I am always polite and professional and this woman treated me like I was dirt. So she hands me copies of the statements without a word and walks away. No thank you, go goodbye... nothing! I tried to get a look at her nametag but couldn't quite read it she left that quickly. But I saw her this past week standing in the same place the week before while waiting for my mother to do her banking. So, in short, it wasn't like this lady was overwhelmed and stressed because of all that was going on because I was the only one in the bank at the time so I can only account it to her nastiness demeanor in general. She should definitely work in the back office and stay away from working with customers. So it is a mixed bag... Oleg, though, is great! read more

My husband and I came in to open business account and saw a woman standing by, she said nothing to us, no smile or greeting, she finally asked us what we needed (still without any smiles or offer us to sit or something). She then just started on her computer without saying anything to us or asking how we're doing or some show of customer service whatsoever. She asked if our company is member managed or manager managed, and I told her member managed, she said nothing. She asked what paperwork we have for our business so I asked what she needed to open the account, she said nothing. She had a scowl on her face the whole time! She looked at paperwork I handed over and finally said 'It's member managed', I just told her that, right? She proceeded with her computer again then asked us for ID's so we gave them to her. Still no word from her, not even a fake thank you. I finally thought to myself why am I giving this woman my business? I can get real human interaction somewhere else! CHASE - please train your people right! It doesn't hurt to treat your customers as human beings and not just another account you can earn from and meet your quotas!!!
