This is a review of the ATM only. It's messed up. I had to keep reentering my PIN even though I knew I had entered it correctly the first (and second, and third, and fourth) time(s). It wasn't telling me that I had mis-entered my PIN, mind you. No, it just kept asking, like an annoying login CAPTCHA. When I finally did get in, it took too long to change screens each time I made a selection. It felt like playing an early Nintendo game when too many sprites were on the screen at once so the game slowed down to deal with the additional processing power needed. I eventually got my cash, but I'll never return to this ATM. Why is the parking lot so weird? Why can't you drive straight? Why all the curves and right angles and forced turns? Horrible customer service. My mom went in to inquire about a loan and the woman helping her was very dismissive. All she did was ask for her social and didn't explain the process to her at all. She just abruptly told my mom sorry we can't help you you own a home. I have taken out a Lon before as a home owner and never had owning a home ever affected if I qualify for the loan or not. The woman never asked my mom if she paid the home by herself or she was renting it, had roommates etc. She even brought her paystubs in showing that she would be able to pay the loan and the woman paid no attention to that. My mom went in right as they opened so obviously the woman was too lazy to start working. Never coming back here ever again and never recommending this place to anyone. This location always has a line and they take sooo long to process a transaction. Not to mention I once went in for a large withdrawal and the lady didn't I.D me. Today was the last straw and I will no longer step foot inside this location. The teller Francisco Sanchez is the one who helped me. I walked straight up to the counter, no line. Tell him I want to make a withdrawal and give him my id. I'm just standing there for a couple of minutes so I ask if there's something wrong as he's typing away on his keyboard. He says he needs an override and I'm waiting for a couple more minutes. I get fed up and tell him forget it I'll just go to the atm and withdrawal partial of the amount I needed. He's says no it's ok I'm processing it right now. Lmao what a joke!!! It was less than $3000 and I have banking experience, I know damn well you don't need an override for that amount. Maybe I'm reading into it to much but I feel like it was because I'm young, a woman of color, and had curly hair with a head wrap on. Idk, but I don't feel welcomed here and won't be coming back. read more

Went to deposit cash and the ATM shorted out, so I went inside and waited a while just for them to tell me they couldn't retrieve my cash and had to file a dispute with my shared branch which is understandable. Went back a different day to make a cash deposit inside this time to make sure the ATM couldn't shut off on me. I waited 30 plus mins with only 3 people in front of me and it seemed like the workers were just having conversations with the other customers. When it was finally my turn, one of the workers who spent a bunch of time talking with a customer finally finished and just looked at me and put her next cashier sign up. Finally came for my turn with the last worker available just for her to tell me she couldn't help me and to try a different bank. read more

I used to think that Patelco all around was a great bank. Great customer service, friendly tellers, and conveniently located near my work. However, today was NOT anything even close to satisfactory customer service. The only reason for 2 stars was because the teller was friendly, and did his job fine. It's the management I frown upon. Not only were the managers just hunched around a desk obviously gossiping, but that's the first thing customers notice when they walk in the door. Management was rude and very unprofessional. Not everyone in the bank is on the same page about everything. Come on Patelco, if a customer has been banking with you for sometime and comes in twice a month you should acknowledge the people who walk in! Manager refused to remove a hold from a payroll check, until I gave her a piece of my mind she decided to remove the hold. Mind you, I get paid salary, it's the same check, same amount every time! She actually said she hasn't ever noticed me come in!! Well then Ms. Manager, doesn't that tell you about your customer service skills as well as the fact that if you acknowledged everyone who walk in rather than gossip at your desk you would actually know your clients?? Sadly, this Patelco is no longer going to be my favored location. read more

It is nice to have a credit union in the community. Non-profit businesses are great because of what they can offer. Rates for loans are generally lower and they don't charge high, ridiculous fees like banks. This is a great location. The only peeve is the parking---there's virtually none! This is only a review on the auto loan department. This was done a few months back. I had gone in with my father to see if we could refinance my car. I had attempted to refi in January of last year and was told my credit needed work. I had jumped a good amount and am now in a position where I can, with some pride, present my credit score. I worked with a woman (I cannot remember her name unfortunately) who ran the information for me. Granted we came in on a Saturday about an hour and a half before closing but were assured we would be called at least by Monday. Monday came and went, then a week and then two. I pretty much gave up on hearing from them and assumed I wasn't qualified or they couldn't beat what I had. I understand if that is the case, however, good customer service would at least prompt you to leave a message. Good or bad I would have appreciated a call. read more

Patelco has been great to me since I joined this past June when I moved into the area. I really have no complaints except sometimes the ATM has errors and doesn't give out any cash. It's nice that they're part of a co-op so I can go to any ATM that has the credit union logo. Overall, customer service is great. Very easy to use website. They will process debits prior to processing deposits in order to assess NS fees. It was my understanding that credit unions did not play these types of "order" games. Additionally, when holding direct deposits, Patelco will hold it until the latest date, also known as a "release by date." The word, "by" Is important here because that is allowing patelco to release it before that date but they must release it by that date. While my colleagues at other financial institutions that are also credit unions, receive their paychecks sometimes 1-2 days early, mine would be held up until the "release by date." Again, not the type of policies I expected from a credit union. I'm closing my accounts as there are too many other better options out there, especially when it comes to credit unions. Patelco does a poor job at serving its customers' needs and operating under typical credit union practices. I would give zero stars if possible. read more

Applied for a refi (I am also a member of the CU) and first, the mortgage officer was unable fill out the paperwork properly. So she doubled my income and ran my credit. Then I found out that they couldn't understand my tax returns and I didn't qualify (according to the mortgage officer). So I asked to speak to the underwriter and was promised a call back. After 2 follow-ups and no calls, I gave up. I did qualify with another lender, so it appears these people are completely incompetent, and their customer service sucks. My wife and I are seriously considering closing our accounts with Patelco after this incident. Patelco, thanks for putting your incompetence on my credit report. read more
