I received a check with a mistake i went to this branch to see if it was still ok to deposit. they told me the issuer can initial it and it would be fine so I went to the issuer had him initial it and returned at which time they informed me they gave me incorrect information and I would need a new check. it's unfortunate they wasted my time and 2 trips plus reflects bad on me to the issuer that this was a simple fix with his initials. on top of it all Jennifer at this branch was unprofessional about the whole situation and rude if I'm being honest when they were the ones who gave the wrong information. I asked for her business card she declined and I asked for her last name she also declined and just gave me the name Jennifer this is also a red flag. This review is for the manager of the branch name Ken. I am a long time customer of Chase. I often drop into the Crow Canyon branch in San Ramon CA. I often seen this man sit at the back cubicle next to the back door never know he was the branch manage. His demeanor is unfriendly I thought he is some sort of investment broker until today I drop by during my day off to visit the branch to renew my CD. I know I should have schedule an appointment but decide to take a chance since no sign said you can't drop in for service. I was instructed to take a seat by the teller and wait for the next available banker told should be about 15min. I took my seat to the manager waited 30 minutes not once he acknowledged me, at time he got up few times to talk to his colleagues exchange something funny walk by me and sit back to his desk. during the entire time I counted probably 4 bankers in sight unsure how busy they are but they should know the meaning of front customers service specifically a manger. Great local support - REALLY BAD CORPORATE SUPPORT. In fact, Chase no longer allows larger transfers to other banks they do not authenticate manually, i.e., call the bank and verify your account, and the authentication is all of a 2 second "no." In other words, Chase is capturing customers funds by not allowing electronic transfers. I suspect the reason is because other banks allow a higher return and this was one way Chase chose to pursue to decline transfers. read more

I always go to this location most times I get good customer service but this time was the best, I was getting some paper work for business and the guy helping me noticed that I was getting confused, and decide to do it for me instead guiding me how to do it at home,even tho they were closing, he was in a hurry trying to finish up with me cause he have another client waiting a call from him.. Most times I have gone to this branch, I have had the pleasure of being helped by Stephany. She is absolutely a joy to talk to. She is helpful, engaging, friendly, and she definitely goes above and beyond for her customers. There have been a few times I have been helped by other employees and none are as friendly and efficient as Stephany. You can tell she is very knowledgeable and knows how to do her job. She gives great customer service, while also doing a thorough and accurate job with whatever transaction or request a customer may have. She is also the only teller that acknowledges people who are standing in line. That is a nice touch. She always lets customers know someone will be right with them or welcoming them in. 5 stars for her. However, since this is a review for the branch as a whole, I took off two stars. The other employees aren't necessary friendly or knowledgeable with their jobs. In fact, I was being helped by Gina on my last visit. I needed to get a cashier's check. This wasn't my first time getting a cashiers check at Chase, so I have an idea of how long the transaction should take. I understand the tellers need to verify certain things. However, Gina was extremely incompetent. It took her 17 minutes to complete my cashiers check, even with me completing the withdrawal slip before I got to her window. It shouldn't take that long to verify my information. She also asked me 6 different questions about information on my account. Now, I don't fault her for being careful, even though I think 17 minutes and a mini interrogation is a bit of overkill. As a reminder, I know how long this type of transaction should take. You could tell she wasn't very comfortable or knowledgeable with certain aspects of Chases's systems either. She definitely isn't a confident employee. However, that part didn't bother me too much(extra security is fine by me) until she finally printed out my cashiers check and gave it to me. She had typed in the amount and the payee information incorrectly. The payee information was misspelled. Then I had to wait another 12 minutes while she voided the check, had me show all my ID info again, and redid the transaction. The teller next to us helped her customer with a cashiers check and he came after I did and left before I did. Perhaps Gina does need a bit more training with customer service as well as completing transactions efficiently and accurately. read more

I always laughed at the Chase radio commercials that have people popping downstairs to go the bank and being back at their desk in 10 minutes. Then Chase opened up this branch right down the hill from where I live. Talk about convenient ... I have been in here a few times for various activities and have found the staff to be friendly and helpful. It is a small branch, but full service and accommodating. The Chase on Crow Canyon is my de facto Chase branch when I need to do some banking during lunch or after work. I went here twice in the last two weeks, once for a cashiers check and the second for a wire transfer. Both times I didn't have to wait that long to get service though the wire transfer did take some time (I didn't mind, it was a good deal of money, get it right!). Both times I was taken care of very professionally. I find it funny how some of the personal bankers put on their work voice and try to be overly nice, at least the guy I was with (Mahesh) seemed genuinely nice and eager to assist. Regardless, since I will be relocating to San Ramon next month, I will be frequenting this location A LOT, no choice :-) read more

I really like this chase, I don't think I've run into a bad staffer here in all of the years I've been doing business with them. They are helpful and considerate and will make time to talk to you about just about everything. I also like that they are just as willing to chat with you while you are waiting for something to process (like when my wife or daughter are with me) or allow for comfortable silence (when I'm solo). I've seen them handle some really frustrated customers, and they have done it well. Not all Chase locations are like this, and I'd recommend this one over others in the area. The site is convenient, the whole mall can be a bit difficult to get into and out of because it's right next to the freeway and the western most entrance is a bear, but the east side is easer to manage. You can park in one place and get around to the bank, coffee, and general food places without trouble in almost all directions. As for Chase in general I like them. I have both business and personal accounts with them but since we have direct deposit in our personal account and the business account is a DBA (doing business as, instead of incorporated) my business checking is also without fees. This is great because it's a side business and quite often I don't have funds in there. I also have an equity line with them and all of the information shows up when I log into the web site so it's easy to access unlike some other places you have to switch between loans, credit cards, and accounts. Their phone app works just as well on Android and iPhone's. The Quick Pay system is great (we are going to use it to send money to my daughter while she is an exchange student) and they have a charge card (like AmEx) that doesn't have foreign transaction fees. Their phone support is almost helpful as the folks in this branch. They are always apologetic when there the system is slow to process something and almost never put you on hold - I always feel like they are getting rid of me when a bank puts you on hold instead of staying with you while they work on your request. From my point of view: I also have accounts with BofA and had accounts with Wells Fargo in the past (and worked for WF as well) and Chase is, without a doubt, my preferred banking institution. read more

I was extremely happy when I banked with Washington Mutual. Then they were bought out by Chase JP Morgan. I was skeptical about Chase but continued banking with them anyway. I always knew I would leave Chase when the time was right. Well, not that long ago Chase decided that if you did not have direct deposit or a huge amount of money always in your checking account, then you would be charged $10 a month for your checking account. Once I learned this, I told my husband it was definitely time to change banks. I researched all the banks in my city and finally decided on Union Bank, who truly has Free Checking. I am so happy with my move to Union Bank. When we went in to close our Chase accounts, the banker tried hard to get us to stay. I made it very clear that I was leaving because of the $10 monthly fee and that I was taking my money and my business to Union Bank, across the street. Wow! I had an amazing experience here! My elderly mom was in the middle of a scam phone call and was already in the bank lobby ready to make a withdrawal as instructed by the scammer. She had called me and I was on my way there. Before I arrived, Ahmed, the manager, noticed that something wasn't right. He alerted his staff to not allow any withdrawals until I arrived. Once I arrived, we were assisted by Mahesh Kapadia and assured that all of their accounts were fine. Without Ahmed's protective eye, my mom could've been victim of fraud. Zero stars should be an option. Opened a business account with Ryan Rountree. There were some missing documents, so the account got closed. That's fair as it seems they tried to send me notifications of closing the bank account via mail but I was on vacation. So, not their fault, however, I could have been told to get more documentation while I opened the account, or may be the next day after I opened, or may be the next week. Never happened. That's still chill. I went to reopen my account. Ryan Rountree mentions that he sent me couple of voice mails when I account was being shut. I didn't get any. The issue was after I went to re-open the account. I went to ask what paper work I need. I worked for about a week to get the paper work and submitted it. Now, during opening the initial account, I had a $500 bonus voucher that I get after making 5 qualifying transactions. I had made the 5 qualifying transactions. I asked Ryan if they would give me the $500. He said he wasn't sure and needed to confirm with his manager. I was like okay, that's fair, please call me and let me know accordingly. The next day, I get a call saying that I do qualify for $500, please come to the bank and sign some paper work to open the account. I say - that's great. May I come in tomorrow? He says, yes, that's fine, please see Mahesh when you get here. Lemme check his calendar and schedule an appointment with him. Cool - appointment scheduled for 1pm. I go to the bank at 1pm next day, Mahesh is helping someone else, that's fine. I am waiting for another someone else who can help me. Someone else comes to help me, but apparently, what was promised as only signing paper work is actually the full purpose of setting up the account. Fine, wasted another twenty minutes. Now, I ask about the $500 bonus. No notes about that on the account. Mahesh doesn't know about it either. Like after waiting for another 10 minutes, this someone else gets in touch with Ryan and Ryan confirms that yes, he got the green signal from manager about the bonus. Then, just to verify, I ask if I have to make the 5 qualifying transactions again. No points for guessing that he says he doesn't know. At this point, I don't have a choice to walk out after like wasting 3 months and 30 minutes trying to bank with them. Disappointed in this particular branch. read more

This bank is using tactics to lure customers in for checking account setup. They will use the mortgage unit of Chase Finance to get your information. They then call and ask you to come in; saying they can offer you lower interest rate financing on you mortgage and what you are paying is too high currently. Once in the bank they waste your time selling you on checking accounts and credit cards and surprisingly - their mortgage guy can do nothing to help your loan with Chase. They have no authority or oversight to make any changes to your mortgage. They want your checking, savings, investment accounts. Shady business practices at the least. Using bait and switch advertising. They should not be rewarded by your business. read more
