We needed to get some stuff done in person at Chase so my wife and I came in looking for a personal banker. We sat and waited on the sofa typically placed inside the bank. While we waited, I saw one of the two personal banker finishing a transaction with a client. I was excited but....she walked toward the back of the bank and disappeared? Was it her break time or are we just invisible? We had to tell a teller after some time to get her to come back and do her job during work hours? Rita was her name because when she finally sat, we saw her name plaque right in front so this ain't first week for her. Oddly, while she was working on our transactions she started talking to another customer who called over the phone and helped them instead of us. We were appalled and looked at each other with our eyes wide open. Is this lady a 1800 help desk person? Why wouldn't she just tell the other person to be on hold as she finishes with our transaction first? Is this discrimination? Or was she just that behind and clueless? The two transactions took over 50 minutes to complete. No wonder we need ai and transactions that don't need people like this. She's incompetent and completely useless. People like her needs to go to school/training/learn the basics and not a job. We told her our dismay after the transactions were completed and guess what she said to us? No, not a sorry but an..."oh". Yea, my toddler does this. Avoid dealing with her when you come here at all cost. You've been warned! read more

Typically, I don't like to write negative reviews... but I feel so frustrated that I'm compelled to share my experience. Per the Chase website and the rep I spoke with on the phone, all you need to change your name is the actual document (marriage cert) and the new gov issued ID. I went into the branch and the 2 individuals I spoke with told me to come back another day because all the bankers were busy and because I did not have my old ID. Who do you think you are Chase bankers?? I have my new gov issued drivers license, marriage cert AND my passport. Why would I need my old ID?? Additionally, why did I waste my time coming all the way down in person to be turned away?? This branch seems to be running with their own set of rules... or maybe they were discriminating against me in some way. Who knows?! All I know is that I won't be returning to this location and I do want to warn others about the incompetency I experienced here. I came to get some $2 bills for Lunar New Year (IYKYK) and the clerk who helped me went out of her way to count out the most crisp $2 bills for me, even when I didn't ask. It was a super thoughtful gesture and touched me deeply, especially with everything going on in the country right now. It's really nice when people acknowledge different parts of other cultures. Fotoon the teller provided horrible customer service today, I went in to get some help, she said "it's not my problem" I told her she doesn't need to be so rude and she responded by laughing and saying "I have a tone?" I asked for her name she told me "take a picture, write my name down." Like she was proud of that behavior. I was glad to speak with the manager after that. thank you Liza for your help today. I was being bounced around several times on the phone with Chase Credit Card trying to get my name changed on one of my cards. For some reason, Credit Card services would change only one of my cards over the phone but not the other. They said I would have to go in person to get the other card changed so I showed up at this branch to complete my task. I was immediately greeted and helped by one of the bankers (unfortunately didn't catch her name), and interesting enough, she also was not clear why I had been told to come in person into a branch as she could not change anything on her end. However, she called Credit Card services on my behalf and was able to get them to make the change over the phone within a matter of minutes. Total time spent here to complete my task - less than 10 minutes. Great customer service! read more

Came in to withdraw some money, and that's pretty much my entire experience. I was somewhat in the area and was surprised that there were no real close Chase banks in the Fremont area I was in. Had to drive here to get some money! This location is a pretty prime one, but be careful for reckless drivers during the mid day dazed and confused rush. People are full from their over indulgent lunches and aren't really paying attention in this area, so be careful. Great location for a Chase, now they just need a few more in the area. read more

Terrible Customer Service at this branch. I do not know how this branch is still functional. I've been a Chase customer for the past 14 years. I know they have a notary service they provide for their customers that I use maybe once a year. I only needed to notarize 1 document and I was told by a manager/supervisor guy working there that they only notarize Chase documents and they would not be able to help me out. The funny thing is, as I was stepping out of the branch, another chase branch which I had contacted earlier and left a message for, finally called me back and scheduled an appointment for me so they can notarize the document for me. If it wasn't for the call back from the other branch I was seriously considering moving my backing business to another company. I do want to warn people about customer service at this particular branch. They are terrible. My message to whoever I talked to is: don't be lazy and do what you're paid to do which is serving Chase bank customers. I have came here 3 different times needing help from a banker. Once to open a joint checking account and the other 2 was to process a wire transfer. Every single time they told me the wait would be over an hour to see someone. I went to the one on Union Landing and got help right away. read more

I don't have a chase account, but my landlord likes check payments deposited straight to her account. No matter what chase I go to, it's very sad. This one is clean, but it's worse than other Chase banks. They only have 2 open windows. The other 4 or 5 windows are blocked by a blown up posted. Its dead inside. It sucks when there is about 10 people in line, and the bankers just look at you. Then they start to feel bad and ask everyone in line if they could help, and by help, they mean "please use the self serve kiosk while I go sit back down." But they don't even sit back down. They just go to the corner of the room and stare at you. While you're in line. Waiting. Then they go back to the teller area, and whisper in the teller's ear. Maybe they're telling them to hurry up? Who knows. Then the banker disappears. Then it's your turn to go to the teller. The line isn't even in the middle. There are two windows open and it's the complete opposite ends. You'll be lucky to get the teller on the left where it's only 5 steps to them. But if not, you have people behind you who say "Hey the teller on the right is calling you." But we can't hear them because its 50 steps away. Anyways, when you approach the teller, you just feel bad. It doesn't look like they enjoy their job. They force a smile like a good customer service person should. Then you're done. And you walk out. What else could you write in a bank review? read more

What a unprofessional and unpleasant experience. I had a 3:00 appointment and wasn't seen until 3:30. I was advised the lady was running late but she wasn't she helped another guest who walked in at the same time as me with an appointment. The other staff told me to get a drink and come back. Once I came back the lady was still assisting the couple who came in after me. What's the purpose of having an appointment then lying to me saying the lady isn't here but she skipped me for her friends. 1st and last time coming to this branch. read more

One year ago, I opened account here,the staff's service was Good.But yesterday ,I met a banker named Parveen Kaur, her attitude and the way she's talking really rude. Generally good service . But this last time the teller deposited my $ into someone else s account. Glad I always check a day later and save recipient. Considerable amount. How can you make an error. I assume ( since I don't see their screen( that when they bring up your account based on numbers your name appears. Accuracy is extremely important in the banking world. This error was corrected within 24 hrs. Also for more serious banking it is better to deal with the main branch on Fremont blvd or near walnut. read more

Okay... 1. I have NEVER written or have thought about writing a Yelp review for a bank and 2. I'm not even a huge fan of banking with Chase... BUT! My experience at the bank today...WAS AH-MAZING! I know, right?! A bank?! Um, yes. I've been banking with Chase since many moons ago when they were the AH-MAZING WASHINGTON MUTUAL (I'm still with Chase out of laziness to move). I just very recently started coming to this particular branch (Alvarado Niles Rd & Decoto) because I've found it to be closer to my home (out of comfort I'd drive a few more miles to the Paseo Padre & Walnut branch). Today's experience was my 2nd time at this branch...and it will now be my go-to branch for the rest of my tenure with Chase (TBD - LOL!). Even with a lingering cold and on unemployment, THIS branch really made me feel super welcome! Um, so much that I thought about applying to work there! LOL!!! OMG, NO LIE!! So, my daughter and I walked in so I could make a cash deposit. Immediately we were greeted by one of the gals that works there (wish I got her name)! She greeted THE BOTH OF US (which is rare for my daughter), asked what brought us in (and keep in mind I'm walking to fill out a deposit slip and she's talking), I tell her "I'm making a deposit" (and still walking) and she spots an open teller (two others had customers), then that open teller smiles at us and waves us to her! Okay, awesome start! Now onto the AH-MAZING teller (her name is Maryliz)! So, she's waving us to her, she's smiling, and then greets US BOTH asking how our day was so far. I start chatting that it's just starting and my daughter started Spring Break and now we're running errands and...and now I'm totally chatting with the teller! I didn't have to fill out a lame deposit slip (she did for me), she asked how to pronounce my name with a smile instead of botching it up, inquired about my day, my Easter plans, and BAM! I WAS DONE! I thanked her, wished her an awesome Easter weekend, then walked out thanking and wishing our greeter gal an awesome Easter weekend, tooooo! NOW, back to my top 2s...1. I came here yesterday to transfer funds from my credit union. I habitually count my funds when I make withdrawals and when I make deposits so I know how much I was depositing at Chase. The funds from my credit union matched my withdrawal. However, when I came to Chase to make the deposit it was a disappointing experience. It is SOP for a bank teller to count the cash for deposit. This is what I expected from the bank teller. However, the bank teller named Janet neglected to count the cash on the counter. Instead, Janet held the cash up in a single pile with both hands. Then in front of her face she spread the cash out with both hands like she was holding a deck of cards. Strangely, her eyes were watching me while I was watching her. This must be her magic trick. The reason is performers do not look where they do not wish you to look. And performers look where they want you to look. Janet was not looking at what she was doing. So this performer did not want me to notice her change in hand-position and was looking at me to distract my attention away from her hand. Fortunately, I diverted my eyes away from her smiling face and I noticed a sudden motion. She had her right hand holding the cash up like a fan while simultaneously her left hand was clutched in a fist in front of the cash drawer. I grew suspicious of her behavior. I wondered, was she hiding cash in her fist? Why is she holding cash up in one hand? Why did she not count the cash? Next she changed her position back to holding the cash up with two hands again. This time she asked for my permission to run the cash through a machine. "Yes," I said. She left from my sight. Afterward I thought I cannot see what she is doing. She might be pocketing some of my cash or already pocketed it into the cash drawer using the sleight of hand technique. When Janet returned with the cash sure enough I was right. Cash was missing. The cash was ten dollars short. I was not happy about that. But I was glad it was not the largest bill I handed over to Janet. She never counted the cash in front of me. Instead, she returned the cash to me to count, and told me to initial the total amount on my deposit slip that she had changed. As I counted the cash I discovered a twenty dollar bill had vanished and was replaced with a ten dollar bill. I suspect that a switch was made with a ten dollar bill prior to Janet's trip to the machine. When I complained the nearest bank teller came to Janet's aid and instructed her to count the cash in her drawer which she did and balanced. Yeah, I suspect the cash would balance after Janet's sleight of hand technique performance. I then requested to see the bank's video camera. Unfortunately, the other bank teller said, "No." So I left Chase Bank disappointed. I cannot trust a bank teller who does not count the cash in front of me at the time of deposit and subsequently plays a trick on me. This is Janet's first and last time as my bank teller. I will not be doing business with her again. read more

I feel as if every time I go to this bank, the customer service is rude and not helpful at all. Today the woman ushering the front lobby had raised her voice in a tone that was not appreciated what's so ever. There are the two ATM machines in the front lobby and both were occupied. A line of two other customers formed at the ATM machine on the right side *not in the middle, signifying that the line was for BOTH ATM machines*. So in a justified action, I waited behind the LEFT ATM machine and as the customer using that machine left, I walked up to it. This is when the woman who ushers the front of the lobby decided to raise her voice in a tone that was less than friendly in front of everyone and in front of my younger brother to say "MA'AM THESE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN WAITING." Repeating the word "Ma'am" more than once for she was standing behind me. A nice tap on the shoulder would have sufficed. Her raised voice sounded condescending and left me feeling embarrassed, a feeling I shouldn't have when running an everyday errand. I know I am not over exaggerating when I write this review due to the looks of empathy I had received from fellow customers. This is not the first time I have had to deal with unfavorable customer service. And the only reason I use the ATM machines inside of the lobby is because on two different occasions, the machines at the entrance have eaten up my cash or checks and had shut down without fully depositing, resulting in me having to call chase's customer service line because the employees in person have no authority to open the machines to get my deposit back. read more

This is by far the worst customer experience I have ever received from any business, I have been a chase card holder for over 10 years. Last month my debit card was compromised and over $1000 was frozen in my account, I was told it would take 30 days to research and sent out with no money to my name. 90 days later my money was issued back to me- I was never informed of this from a chase team member. I went to this location to pull out my funds and close my account and Mia the personal banker as well as the branch manager Paresh were extremely rude and not helpful in the least. They told me that they would have to mail me a check, even though the funds were issued back to my account. This has been a mess from the start and I have never had such terrible customer service- Paresh is by far the worst manager at any location I have ever had to work with, and Mia was not helpful in the least. I am so so disappointed to the point I am advising all friends and family to close there accounts with Chase and never deal with this branch. Very disappointed and agitated, such a waist of time dealing with this poorly trained team. read more
