The ATM machine does not work, it hasn't worked for months, this BM hasn't made any effort to fix it, she's just lounging around while her employees are struggling assisting all the clients that couldn't do anything at the ATM, also she is rude and unprofessional, she needs to be fired immediately. I had 5 small deposits and after doing 2 I was told I had to wait for them to help people behind me. This is after waiting for 15 minutes to be helped. Chase has burned me badly in the past, but they know I'm a sucker and will keep on taking them back because they're so prevalent and ubiquitous throughout the greater L.A. area. They've won me over on quantity, not quality, but maybe their new West Hollywood branch is a harbinger of good things to come. This location is new, clean, and lets you go ATM from both front and back, and the inside. YES, love -- it IS as sexy as it sounds. AnyInappropriateWay, the employees are friendly and eager to have you come in. They even offered free bottled water and snacks the first couple of days. I hope this continues -- the free eats, I mean. Wells Fargo is known to do so all the time, every day. Probably because this location is new and the company wants to put its best foot forward, they assembled a dream team to lead the way during the initial weeks. Hopefully they'll either stay, or their competence will rub off on other Chase employees that come after. Pavilions next door had me skeptical at first when they had their grand re-opening more than a year ago. I thought, "they can't possibly stay this nice for long." Pavilions came through like Electric Boogaloo. They're still total dolls. I sincerely hope Chase is the same way. Though, truth be told, Chase as a bank overall isn't that great. I had a pastiche of dramas involving different savings and checking accounts I had with them, but I've switched those to different banks and credit unions these days. It was just another saturday and I needed to make change for under an $100. I walked into the bank and approached the window when I was informed after many saturdays of visiting this bank for change. That they are no longer making change for customers who do not have an account with Chase. The branch manager , Rick G., then informed me that this was a new policy, but when I called the 1.800 customer number to verify this change. They informed me that he was wrong and that if the change is under $100 the bank will make change regardless if you have a chase account. I returned back to the bank to clarify what is actually the policy since the branch manager lied and decided to apply the policy when and however he wanted. Instead of following company policies. The branch manager then proceeded to yell at me loudly in front of everyone in the bank, to open an account if I wanted to make change. When I only asked for him to clarify the actual policy and then we stormed away from the window. I was completely mortified at what had just taken place and blatant disregard for customer service. When things like this happen we have to file formal complaints so that they can become better at servicing the communities that the banks serve. I agree with all the negative comments regarding this Chase Branch. I would expect that Chase management would notice the complaints regarding this location. The customer service is deplorable, no one at this branch has been cooperative or wanting to give you the time of day. I have reached out to Chase customer service and very little response. I have emailed, called and was told to have a meeting with the branch manager. No one there to help! The good: This branch is relatively empty most times. It's brand new so everything is clean, modern and new. The bad: There are hardly any employees. There were only 2 tellers and one banker. I waited about 10 minutes hoping another banker would come out. When I asked the teller, she said that there was only one banker on. Not really impressive. read more

Ali, a teller at the Chase Branch, asked why I was depositing so many bills. This representative was rude and did not present himself properly as an employee of a Bank that charges so many fees. I called Bill Wade, the assistant regional discrict manager, at 818-380-2340 so he would know the service customers are getting. The branch manager made excuses that Ali "has only been in the country for a year and does know how to respond to customers". If this is the case why was he hired ... The summation of my experience with Chase is they are convenient, but greedy. They HAD a large portion of my money to use to make a profit on their loans, but I've really had it with their nickel and diming. If you haven't already, check out Ally Bank. They have really been great, and I actually make a decent interest off my money with them. The past year has been an exercise in surprises with Chase, a bank that bought out the one I singed up with, Washington Mutual, and has been disappointing me ever since. Travelers checks, money orders and cashiers checks used to be free and now they all cost. Not a big deal for most people, but I use all three pretty regularly. When I said I never have paid for these items the bank MANAGER told me, "well, that's why WaMu failed." You've got to be kidding me. Also I've noticed service charges creeping in on a few of my accounts, which I've had reversed. Apparently now they will charge accounts with more than 4 transactions a month on them (wtf?), there are minimum requirements on ALL accounts, and some require direct deposit to avoid charges. read more

Like any shopaholic, I was lured by the promise of FREE MONAY right after the holiday season. $150 worth of after-Christmas sale booty? Sure! Not being a completely blind consumer, I did some research and asked around about Chase to see if it was worth ditching my current mega-bank. All signs pointed to "sure why not" so I took my shiny $150 coupon and was signed up for a new checking and savings account in, no joke, less than 20 minutes! Mark was friendly and knew exactly what account types and needed and seamlessly tied in my Chase credit card into my new accounts. He even quickly followed up with me via email the next day when I had a question. I don't have much experience in the grown up banking arena (home loans, CDs, etc), but Chase is perfect for what I need right now and insanely convenient. read more

This bank is in a great location and they have free parking which you rarely find in LA! Also I was really impressed to get a call from the branch to see if I had taken care of a request for some euros I had called about last week. THE WORST CHASE BANK IN LOS ANGELES. I've been coming to this Chase Bank for years!!!! A few times a year I have a family poker game and other personal reasons I need to get some $1's and other change. The Chase Bank representative named Rene has been helping me for years and every time I ask for change he asks if I have a business account and he won't allow me to get change and limits me to $200. No help or suggestions where I can find change(you would think your local bank right) No "I'm sorry", or "maybe you can try this branch", or "maybe you can call in before". NON OF THAT, just a cold shoulder and no customer service what so ever. Look at there reviews here on Yelp and how many stars they have!!! That says it all. You go to a certain bank because of the customer service and friendliness and this branch has NONE OF THIS. It's sad because this is a small town and word travels fast and they already have the reputation of being NON-FRIENDLY. Something has changed with Chase. Up until the last couple months, they were friendly and caring. Not anymore. My daughter has had enough of hidden fees and charges and is leaving them. That prompted me to contact them to find out how to transfer money if she's with another bank. The lecture and rude attitude were just too much. Then when I was asking about what happens if I leave with my United Mileage Plus card, more lack of care. Been with them at least 30 years. Looking for a new bank, perfect timing, some cash coming in from a refi and I'll enjoy moving it to a new bank. Too bad no one at Chase cares. read more

I don't bank with Chase or any other big bank so my experience here is based solely upon a customer service experience. I had to stop in to deposit a check into my mom's account and I have to say I was treated plenty fine. The cashier was friendly, quick, and offered me her name should I have any questions about the transaction after the fact. It was quick and easy, the venue is clean and new, and really there's not much more I could ask for in a direct banking experience. read more

These ATMs at this location are always malfunctioning. They've eaten my deposit before and it took days to get back. Today one of their ATM would only dispense increments of 100 and the other dispensed $80 in $5's, I didn't know that they even gave 5's, but, I'm gonna be super embarrassed when counting them out at my local weed dispensary! read more

Dear WeHo Chase Bank, YOU SUCK! You need to close the WeHo branch down and send the entire staff to customer service training. I was not surprised to find so many one star reviews on this page. We sat in the lobby for 29 minutes before we were acknowledged by any of the 3-4 employees. Another woman, who arrived after us, was called to see a banker before us. Still another employee sauntered by and got herself some coffee. (I'm good thanks). Then the banker guy, took an even longer time. He was not preparded to open a new account. I'm sorry, I thought this was a bank, you want our money, right? I'm over you and your poor customer service skills. I had to hold back from calling you all racists and flipping over the table. The account manager (don't want to say her name) was incredibly friendly. She was courteous, although we had to walk up to her to be acknowledged. So that's the positive point. She wasn't very intelligent, rather she seemed a bit slow or at least new. She had to keep running to her manager, even though we just wanted to open a checking account. She didn't recognize a permanent resident visa (I-551) and wasn't able to confirm that to use as a form of ID, among the other ID stuff we brought - temporary CA ID, social security card, credit cards, official mail from the state of California, a passport, and more. She ran again to her manager who also didn't approve it. Never once did we meet this manager. In the end, we left the branch and walked down the street to Bank of America where they were even friendly and much better informed. Honestly, do yourself a favor and head to Bank of America just down the street. read more

As customers of large banking institutions, we know our opinions scarcely matter. We have NO CHOICE but to put up with ignorant employees who're essentially there to exploit the presumed ignorance of the consumer. The chasm between what they say when they're selling you an account vs. when you're an account holder is measured in parsecs. Its hard to distinguish top-down policies from merely bad human resources, but that's an academic question of "why" -- the "what" is that banks systematically find a way to hire managers who're trained to never admit they're wrong, and to blatantly lie or outright disregard your requests. Human resources is impeccable at finding "managers" with bad aptitudes who're smug and have virtually no regard for the risk management of the customer nor their requests. Before I left, I precisely described to the manager, Leslie, how they disregarded the one request I had to which she fabricated a lie, only to negate it in the next sentence. The only risk-management that matters to her or the bank is theirs. When I pointed out that she had just contradicted what she claimed to be a policy - and which she refused to provide proof of the policy, I called her an arrogant hypocrite and a smug liar. I didn't yell, I just played back from my phone the recordings of her contradicting herself. At that point, because I had recorded her lying in a manner which harmed me, she refused to continue talking and walked away. EXCELLENT conflict resolution skills, no? Lie, and if that doesn't work, scurry off and hide. Why do banks consistently find smug liars who have no concept of the value of admitting where they were wrong? And why is moving the goalposts or wasted an inordinate amount of time considered acceptable!? First teller: I asked her to verify that funds sufficient to cover the check were available and that the check will be negotiated before I'm requested to alter it, AT ALL. SHE CONFIRMED they were available and I needed to fill it out in my name, and trusted she at least would honor our rules. She's had my ID, I've had a chase credit card, bank account, etc. I explained that, because I was helping a customer who stretched out to buy a laptop that was slightly beyond his financial comfort zone -- that once he told me I was cleared to cash the check that I wanted to do so "post haste". Per the "payers" suggestion, he offered to leave the check blank so that I could write it to cash, my name, or my corporate name. No problem. Chase assistant CONFIRMED that I should address it to my name. Done. I followed her instructions, "completed the pay to the order of", and double checked that... BEFORE I ENDORSE IT - funds were available. - the check was satisfactorily formatted. - a manager even audited it AND my ID. SO... I endorse it. NOW I have an endorsed check and though they said they were going to negotiate it, ONLY NOW do they start nit picking. Manager: "The writing style of the amount is different ink than his signature and the payee.'' They need to CALL the customer, but are also unwilling to confirm the ONLY the last 2 digits of the customers phone number (so that I could check it against the number I have on my invoice so that I know we both have the same number for him. I point out - we PRINT our checks.... which means, my signature NEVER matches the info of the payee nor the dollar amount. Despite this being germane to the ability to negotiate a check... AS WELL as their previous statement that it was properly formatted prior to my endorsing it - they ultimately refuse to. Incompetence? Inconsiderate? Ignorant? WHO CARES? Those are academic questions as to why... what matters is, they mislead me, they lied, and they wasted 40 minutes of my time doing it. If you have any discretion over who you bank with and at minimum, which branches of chase you use if you're obligated to use them, DO NOT use this one. How this person became a manager is beyond me. NOTHING about Leslie strikes me as managerial. Unethical. Lied to my face. Scurried away rather than showing me anywhere in their policy in which a check couldn't have ink that differed from the signature (which would mean they could never process a typed check.) When you fire her, I will attempt another similar transaction to verify you have changed your hiring practices - and if so, I will revise my review. read more

The last two times (months apart) I've come, waited without anyone saying hello or coming to help and left without what I came for. The people won't even make eye contact. what a horrible horrible experience at this bank today, with the business banking guy Nicholas!!! I have been a Chase customer for years, for all my business and personal banking. Today's experience made me just want to run!!!! I went to this Chase for only 2 simple requests- address change, and get 12 months statement for tax. Nearly two hours later, watching Nicolas helplessly calling help desk for every little thing, stuttering over every explanations, then click on the screen back and forth, not able to do the simplest request. - not sure what he was doing on the screen! I understand he was new, I was all patient, but when he start to flip out at the end telling me I can go home print my own statements, I was shocked! Talk about customer service!!!! I ask why the statement is not matching to the individual charges, he flipped out even more! Repeatedly question me "you mean you are question it's not matching? have you added them up??" Yes, it's $3000 balance!! and charges are not listed!!!! I finally realized I am not getting any help from this dude, I want to walk away, he decided to accuse me of doubting Chase's integrity! II was beyond myself to see a banker can be this rude to customer and still work there!!! I have overall good experience with everyone in this bank before since I have been going there, I will NEVER go there for business banking if Nicolas is still there...he needs to be fired for his incompetence and rudeness!!!! I went to open a new account. I wait for 10 minutes because they have one person there that does this. So he says there is one person in front. It will take him 20 minutes and can I wait. He then comes to me after I waited 20 minutes to tell me that they are opening another account and it will be.another 20 minutes. How was he unable to establish that before I had to wait that long? I am absolutely disgusted with the way this bank does business. Chase is not a bank and it's full of incompetent people who have no idea what they are doing. No matter what branch you go to... Please don't bank with them, because you will be disappointed. They've held on to MY money for 3 months, as result of them closing a checking account, and they have not figured out where the money went, and it has not been deposited into my new checking account. I have banked at this Chase branch at least twice a week...for the last 16 months. The tellers are quick and when you need additional service, someone is always there to help you. I would give them 5 stars, but one of the tellers (whom I have encountered only once) made a mistake...and it reflected poorly on my bank statement. I asked them to remove their error from my bank statement, but they could not; instead, they had to write a letter of explanation for me...so that I could apply for a commercial lease. TERRIBLE BANK. Had a very bad experience. I opened both a savings and checking account to get the bonuses offered. Put significant amount in savings and opened a checking account which had to have a direct deposit from employer or pension in order to get the bonus. The bank officer told me it would take about 2 months to get the direct deposit in, so I went home and made arrangements. Guess what... my payment went there but they had CLOSED my checking account. So they didn't take the payment. I could not reach the branch on the phone 3 days in a row. They never answer the phone! I called the main number for Chase and had to wait forever ... finally someone answered. Had to talk to 7 different people... who had no idea why the checking account was closed. And I had plenty of money in the savings account. The first 4 people had no idea where my deposit went. One person said, not to worry... it was there. But the last 2 people told me they sent it back. I specifically opened the account to get the bonus and specifically changed my pension check to direct deposit but now they caused me so much trouble and wouldn't reopen the checking account. They said they closed it because there was no money in it for 60 days. If the rep I signed up with had told me that when I opened the account. I could have put some money into it. But he did not tell me! He knew it would take a couple months to have my direct deposit redirected to their bank... but he didn't tell me they would close the checking account days before my direct deposit arrived. They caused me lots of trouble and aggravation and I won't even get the promised bonus. A TERRIBLE BANK...THE BRANCH THAT GIVES MISINFORMATION AND NEVER ANSWERS THEIR PHONE.
