As context, Rocky has been through a lot over the past year (ACL injury, Hypothyroidism flare ups, Allergy issues, Skin rash, Eye surgery, Ear infections, Tracheal collapse). In spite of all this, Rocky has remained a happy, sweet fur baby that is a "love magnet" wherever he goes :-). But, after months of vet visits, pokes, and prodding...we were both exhausted and needed a different path. My primary vet and I aligned that it was time to bring in specialty expertise and I'm so glad we did. From the moment we arrived at HEAL, I could tell this experience would be different. The entire staff is extremely kind and supportive, and Dr. Martinson is truly a gem--warm, intuitive, and incredibly thorough. She took the time to fully understand Rocky's health journey, and while a prior vet even suggested a wheelchair...I know my boy and he isn't there yet. Yes, he's aging, but it's not time for wheelchairs, heavy meds, or giving up. Dr. Martinson listened and agreed. Together we aligned on a holistic care plan that prioritizes Rocky's quality of life. No extreme interventions. Just thoughtful, expert care designed around what's best for him. Yes, the initial visit takes a lot of time, the "pre-booking" Questionnaire is extensive, and the services aren't cheap. But for me and Rocky, it was time and money well spent. This was the most detailed pet evaluation I've ever experienced and after months of stress, I finally saw Rocky relax. HEAL's Fear Free approach definitely works and I'm looking forward to a great partnership with Dr. Martinson and the entire team. I've trusted ReadyVet with my dog, Finn, for years, and always had great experiences with Dr. Ben. That trust ended after Finn's recent dental appointment. His procedure was scheduled for 8 a.m. I dropped him off on time and called around 1 p.m., only to learn his dental was just starting. Finn, who they know has anxiety, had been sitting in a cage for over five hours with no communication. They later claimed the delay was because I fed him, but I gave him a smaller-than-normal portion of food so he could take the trazodone they prescribed. No one ever said this would delay his care for hours. Looking back, it's clear the clinic was overbooked. They were running a 15% off dental promotion (see image attached) and had "fit me in" with another vet because my usual doctor, Dr. Ben, was fully booked for dentals until next month. I later learned they had four dentals that day. It's hard not to see the problem as a scheduling issue, not a medical one. When I raised my concerns, management accused me of being disrespectful and terminated me as a client. It was an incredibly disappointing end to what had been a positive relationship. Dr. Ben has always been wonderful and this situation had nothing to do with him. My issue is entirely with how the office is managed; poor communication, lack of transparency, and zero accountability. If you're considering ReadyVet, ask how many procedures they're booking that day and who will actually be doing them.

Every business has had to adapt and adjust the way they interact with their customers, patients, or whatever. Going from normal to locked down there was no time to prepare and is a learning process for everyone. Even customers have had to adapt. We had never dropped Tate off by himself for an appointment at a Vet before. Always stayed while vet did examination/shots. I can only imagine how confusing all of the new covid protocols are for pets and owners. Metro has taken care of Tate and treated him and us (his overly protective dads) very kindly. And with compassion. The communication at metro was lacking a little at the beginning but they have more than made up for it. We lost (Zero) about 4 years ago after a friends, much larger, dog bit him dog on the head. Zero was only 5 when it happened. We got Tate shortly after he had to put Zero down. Unfortunately because of that we are a bit overly protective with him. We had gone to Metro a couple times in the past and never had an issue. The 2 previous visits, years ago, were great.

We went there in June 2024 to check what is wrong with Walter, since he was vocalizing at night rather often. Jennifer Hewitt prescribed him Methimazole. After treating our cat with that medication Walter felt really bad, started to hide like he is about to die. I cut the prescribed dose in half and gave him also not every day how that doctor said, but every other day, and still he felt bad. She prescribed him 2.5 mg twice a day. Then started to give him 2.5 once a day, the 2.5 mg every second day. But he felt worse and worse. Before that treatment Walter would run occasionally around a house, like all cats do. But not anymore after that deadly treatment. In March 2025 Walter passed away.

My dog had been diagnosed with cancer just three days prior and now needed his leg amputated, ASAP. This was the closest and soonest we could have the procedure done, and I'm so grateful for it. Dr. Dammicci is incredible; kind, patient, and absolutely a top notch surgeon. I would never wish this situation on anyone, ever, but I was astounded at how cleanly the leg was removed. More remarkably, my child was already walking a day later, and three weeks post op, he's running, playing, and acting for all the world like this was all just some horrible nightmare. I'm forever grateful to the team here. They've given my baby so many years of life back. Seeing him happy and healthy, especially after all we've been through, is truly a gift.

The compassion and love that Dr. Adamson has for my dog is makes my heart swell. I trust her completely with my 14 year old lab. While my heart hurts for someone else losing their family member, I feel it's important to remember it's our decision to make, and to place all blame on one expert and threaten to sue will not bring anyone peace. Just this week I had to make the difficult decision to put my 14 year old lab to rest. Dr. Adamson laid out the facts and gave me the knowledge I needed to make a decision on my senior dog. We have been seeing Dr. Adamson for years. Her warm comforting hugs and kindness are what make her shine. She 100 percent knows her stuff and I am amazed and what she can recall (without looking through notes) on my dog. Incredible memory. Do not let the negative, emotional review sway you. They did a UA, and got Antibiotics and started him on a diet to help dissolve the stone, and prevent future ones. He also had glucose in his urine, so checked his glucose level and it was 126. Not diabetic yet, but we will have a follow up visit on Dec 8th. Dr Ellsworth and Asia were amazing. Highly recommend and very reasonable. The bill was $176, for all that, including the meds, and food. I was elated, as we had been going to Hillside Vet for years. But the bill there was going to be outrageous, and if he needed an xray the price was $600!!! No ma'am! If we need one at East Dallas, it is $250!
