There is also a nice jungle gym to keep the kiddos occupied. The main attraction for me is that the park is nestled alongside Lodi Spring Creek, a fairly productive trout stream. Trout can be caught all along the length of the stream that borders the park. The park itself makes access to the enter section quite easy. If you're in Lodi and just want to enjoy a nice day out, Goeres is a nice spot to do it.

The shelter we reserved is on the northeast side of the lake (though I question how this qualifies as a lake - more like a pond in my mind) and with a hillside just to the east of it, the shelter was as good as air-conditioned! Hallelujah! There was a cool breeze thanks to the lake and since the shelter was shaded for half of the day, it wasn't until 3pm when the space finally started feeling too warm. The proximity of the shelter was also great as the Monticello Public Pool is right across the road and the kids were able to go enjoy a pool day once they were finished chasing toads around the pond (sorry Freddie the Toady Toad. Also, sorry the kids couldn't decide on a better name).

It's 83 acres of beautiful scenery, crystal clear water fed from an underground spring, so yesterday's water temperature was 80°. The depth varies from just 4 feet to 60 feet. There is always a slight breeze in the air, which is great for keeping away the mosquitoes. I visited for two days and saw boating, swimming, fishing, and paddle board activity. Fishing here might net you a Panfish, Largemouth Bass or a Northern Pike. Most of the lakefront properties include private docks, but there is a public access dock as well. Just gorgeous!

It was impossible to use the men's non-flush toilets without crunching over the collection of unidentified "creepy crawlers" calling that place home.

It's an easy distance from where we live in Milwaukee, as it's in close proximity to the Wisconsin Dells. That said, even though we were deep in the woods camping, there was plenty of civilization close by should we have needed to restock on anything. Since we had quite a big group, we booked a double-site and boy did we luck out. I think we had the largest double that was available. It fit two large RV/campers and five tents, leaving ample room for tons of chairs around the fire pit and the big picnic tables provided. Oh and they are *electric campsites* which can be hard to find! No water hook up though. Not too far down from our site was the big shower houses/bathrooms. And let me just say, these are NICE! Like very nice. And very clean. Probably the best campsite bathrooms I've ever seen. I feel as though the building was very new / freshly redone. Other pros: plenty of lake activities (we rented both kayaks and pontoon boats), great walking paths (freshly laid wood chips and clear signage), lakeside beaches, and various playgrounds for the kiddos. Oh and fun planned experiences by the park - it was "Smokey Bear's birthday" when we were there and they had a firetruck on-site, water games, bday treats, prizes, and a meet and greet with the bear himself. A hit with our kids. Even if you're not camping, this state park would be wonderful for a day trip!

In the back of my mind, though, I was pretty convinced they were over-selling the enchantment. My friends, if anything, they were under-selling it. It was the coolest, most magical immersive and interactive forest walk of my life. The technology is astounding. As my son who was with me shared after, 'it felt like we were dropped inside a Disney movie'. I couldn't have said it better myself. Beyond the magic, some logistical notes: The trail is wide and dirt/gravel. There are some slightly steep areas and so it's not entirely accessible. My elderly parents opted to skip it and after doing it that was the best call (between the dark, the sometimes slightly uneven ground, and the slightly steep areas, it would have been too much). There are also flashing lights if you're sensitive to that. The entire trail is roughly one mile so you could ostensibly be through with it in 20 minutes. That said, with all the light show magic, it took us just over an hour. There are benches here and there if someone needs a quick rest. I would seriously do this every time I come to the Dells. An absolutely above-and-beyond awe inspiring experience. Get to it!

It was a great idea because they're so close to each other. This very much reminded me of the China Lights experience in Milwaukee, but with a totally different vibe. If you are sensitive to moving lights, this is not for you. This place is only open in the evenings, when it's dark enough for the lights to be seen. They also use a lot of smoke so the lights have plenty to reflect off of for the show. Each 'spot' has about a 3-4 minute display, and it takes about 45 minutes to go through. At the beginning they have a concession stand, and as you're exiting there's a gift shop. Other reviews said this seemed pricy at $25/ person. I was glad it wasn't more expensive per person, but I could see how the flat rate entrance fees could deter some. I'm not sure if they change the theme or the displays each year, but if they do then that would be an awesome way to keep things fresh and bring back repeat guests.

Can I say this is THE BEST attraction in the Dells?…read more I loved riding the mountain/alpine coasters when I visited Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg years ago, so when my friend and I found this while on a casual drive, we knew we had to stop and give it a try. It was $20 per person (a little pricey, in my opinion), but the ride was well worth it. It really lets you connect with nature. We came at non-peak times, which let both of us go full speed without any worries. Normally, the photos for purchase from attractions like these are on the pricey side. We were able to purchase our photos together and got a discount on them. I think it came out to $10 per photo, which is a great deal in my opinion.

No wake area, perfect for kayaking!…read more Mirror lake rentals is inside the park, so you do need to get a state park pass for your vehicle. It is $10 a day, or $35 for the entire year. It is recommended that you book in advance if you are a large group, as the kayaks seem to be limited. It is a very popular place, as the scenery changes dramatically. The lake its' self is rather small, but is connected to windy rivers that are lined by orange cliffs. There is a nice mixture of shaded areas, as well exposed sunny areas. There are many beaches to pull up onto, and a dam at the end of the course. The lake is very friendly for beginners and experts. Kayaks are $10 an hour or $25 for a half day. It takes about 2 hours to get to the dam and back, more if you go casually and like to stop a lot like we did!

And best of all they have amazing prices, $135 for four hours which is like a hundred dollars or more less than the other options. Lake Delton was a great small lake to cruise around, throw the anchor out and swim and fish. We will definitely be back this summer to do it again with Schleef's! As I drove through the campground there were a lot of travel trailers with structures built around them. It looked like horrible. During my stay the same poop marks remained on the toilets the entire 3 days I was here. The final weekend I was awoke at dawn to a barrage of shotgun fire. Duck season opened and since the entire shoreline is weeds and rush its prime duck habitat. All morning shotguns were going off like a small war. My dog was flipping out. So they don't clean the showers or toilets. The place looks like a ghetto, and there's gunfire to rival any war zone. Oh yes, let's stay here!!!

We had to cancel reservation due to health issues…read morenot being medically able to hand the air quality due to the fires in Canada we could not keep our reservation. Not only would they not work with us, but they also laughed at us for even asking. Extremely rude host.
