Billysteve was totally awesome. We needed our new house rekeyed and I wanted the garage door lock included on the all-the-same-key system. I suspect someone else would've simply said that wasn't really possible, but he stood and thought about it and figured out a way to do that and then returned three days later with all the parts that we needed and he did it perfectly. We had a simple job---adjustment to a couple of deadbolts (with a possible replacement), and a new keyless deadbolt. Billysteve was easy to get a hold of, flexible with his scheduling, and arrived well within the expected timeframe. And of course he did great work, and cleaned up when he was done. He was even able to fix a door that we were told was "unusable" and didn't charge extra for it. I called a few locksmiths in Austin to get the office I work out of rekeyed. A few places wanted to charge upwards of 70$ just to come out to the property. With Chastity I ended up paying less than $65 to have a lock re-keyed AND ten copies made. Billy was extremely friendly and accommodating. I had to reschedule him three different times over the course of a week and he was still happy to come out with a smile and really work with my schedule. New keys all work great (better than the original key we had for the old lock). He was in and out within about 30 minutes. Can't think of a reason to call any other locksmith in Austin. When he first came to change the locks out of the new apartment I was renting, he saw that I was a single girl living solo on the first floor and decided to put another, extra lock on the bottom of my back sliding door, saying it would help prevent people from breaking in by shimmying open the sliding door. Yelp to the rescue, again. My lock literally broke on me this morning as I was leaving to run early morning errands. I turned to Yelp and saw the reviews for a place close by my apartment and Chastity Lock and Key. I appreciate a good pun, but usually not in situations where I can't get into my apartment. Before calling Chastity, I called a place closer. But no one answered - Boo. So I turned to the business with the clever name and awesome reviews, and made the call. I got a human being on the other line - Win. I explained my situation to Billy. He said normally they don't do "emergency" calls like mine, the situation I had was something he could fix and had some time before attending to a prior appointment. Mind you, I live off Burnet in Brentwood. He is on South 1st. So it wasn't exactly in the neighborhood. But that didn't seem to phase him. He arrived very timely, was able to not only fix the immediate problem, but also had a new lock available because the one I have just needed to be replaced. It was fast, and surprisingly affordable. Billy is awesome. I emailed him Friday night with a last minute request to meet me at my office to install locks on a couple of doors. I bought the locks at Home Depot and he confirmed they were good and said he occasionally works on Saturday to take care of overflow clients and that yes, he had an hour in his schedule Saturday afternoon to meet me at my office. I was amazed that he came right on time, expertly handled the replacement of the two locks, coded the override keys, drilled an extra bit out of the door frame so the lock would work properly (old doors) and showed me how to program the key pads. I was blown away by Bill's work of rekeying my three doors on my new house, and installing a new lock on my garage door so I would only have to use one key for my entire house. Bill was very professional, friendly and arrived on time, which is very important to me. The total cost of this job was $87. Because Bill had to drill out and expand the garage door lock, it took 30 minutes to rekey all the locks and install a new cylinder for the garage door. I'm outside of Austin and live in Buda area, I needed 5 locks re-keyed to the same key. They came out re-keyed and when he was done I had decided to install a keyless deadbolt.
