I am sorry to have to write this review about my recent appointment at Chateau Blu, but it was an incredibly negative experience. I purchased a Groupon for a Keratin treatment as I have for the past two years. I've previously had good experiences at this salon. My appointment was with Milena, the owner of the salon. When I arrived, she informed me that she misplaced the Keratin treatment and would be giving me a Brazilian Blowout instead. I inquired about this treatment and Milena told me that it is an upgraded treatment. I trusted Milena- which proved to be a mistake. Milena washed my hair, then applied the treatment. She blow-dried my hair and then flat ironed it. That was the end of my in-salon treatment. It was a quick process- unlike the Keratin which takes a bit longer. Milena was friendly and we had a great conversation during the treatment. She gave me a bottle of 'ion bonding' spray and instructed me to rinse my hair after 24 hours, then apply the spray and blow-dry and flat iron my hair. After that, she recommended washing my hair within 72 hours. Once I got home, I googled the Brazilian Blowout as I was unfamiliar with the product and was surprised to see that the procedure that Milena followed was different than the procedure that I read about on the Brazilian Blowout website. I emailed Milena to inquire about this and she assured me that I should follow the procedure as she described in the salon. The next day, I still had an uneasy feeling, so I contacted Brazilian Blowout customer service. The rep that I spoke with told me that Milena did not follow proper procedure and was shocked that I left the salon with the chemicals still in my hair. He instructed me to rinse my hair immediately as the chemicals can cause serious damage to my hair. After doing this, I contacted Milena who, unfortunately, insisted that she was correct in her procedure and did not offer any solutions to make this situation right. This is where the communication ended and she has since ignored my further attempts to contact her. I can't even begin to write how stressful and disappointing this experience has been. I have never made a Yelp review but I had to for Chateau Blu because this is honestly the BEST hair experience I've ever had. I have thick, curly, frizzy Indian hair that is so hard to manage. I found a Groupon for a Keratin Treatment and Haircut, and I took the plunge and got it done. I had been doing a lot of research about keratin treatments and before I scheduled my appointment, the salon owner Christina spent 30 minutes on the phone with me explaining the products and process of the keratin treatment at her salon. On the day of, Kim did my keratin and haircut and did an amazing job. Even though I have a LOT of hair, she took her time and got my hair to be the sleekest, shiniest, and softest it's ever been. Honestly being able to shower and let my hair air dry and not have to spend hours trying to style it was life changing for me. I got this treatment last July and it lasted for almost 6 months! In December, I was home from school for a few days so I decided to go a salon much closer to my house for another keratin treatment. Even though this other salon claimed to use the same products as Chateau Blu, the results were just not the same and I was really disappointed that I just wasted so much money. This just made me appreciate the services at Chateau Blu that much more. As a medical student, not having to spend hours on my hair is very important, so I definitely plan to go back soon! In all my years of haircuts and highlights and any other hair service I've gotten, this is the only hair experience I've had where I left 100% satisfied. read more

Extremely expensive and took advantage of my student daughter's inexperience. My 20 year old daughter chose this salon to have her hair highlighted with a balayage treatment. This was her first treatment ever. She is a student and just spent the summer at basic training for the US Army as a reserve. This was her treat to herself for working really hard over the summer. She came away with great looking hair, but also a hole in her purse, with a total bill of $220 not including tip. The website listed the most expensive balayage as $135. They did another process without telling her it would cost more and they also charged her for a trim. I feel like she was ripped off and someone a bit more savvy would have refused to pay for all the additional costs that she was not told would cost extra. When I called the owner to complain, she was unapologetic and stood by her price. I cannot deny that her hair looks great, but so does mine and I pay just over half at my high end salon! Unless you have money to burn, pick another salon! read more

First went to Chateau with a keratin Groupon. After exceptional service and a great cut I continued going as a client of Kim's. She listens, gives honest advice and recommendations for a better cut and style. She is respectful of time and honors appointment times. I am very hurt and dissapointed after many years of coming to the Salon. I had on stylist for a long time that was excellent. She left on Maternity leave and the Head of the Salon took over my hair for the time she was out. The original hairstylist apparently felt no need to tell me when she had returned to the salon. I wrote too. After all those years with her I never heard an explanation. The new stylist never folowed the exact formula thus ruining my hair that took years to repair from lack of hormones, medications for a very serious surgery. During the height ofthe Pandemic and when they were initially open afterwards, I felt less than comfortable asking for masks to be worn due to my immunocompromised state. I am a good client. I loved my hair. I loved this place. I am loyal and my heart is broken. It is hard to find a great Salon and I don't know what happened. Proceed with great caution. read more

Do yourself a favor and avoid this salon. They completely botched my haircut and i dont believe that any of the stylists even have a degree. When i walked in two of the employees were busy smoking cigarettes outside and the inside was filthy. No one had even cleaned the bathroom in weeks.
