I found the Owner, who cut and colored my hair (because my regular stylist had left for another salon), was fairly rude, and didn't listen. Beyond asking what I was looking for, she never asked me one question or spoke to me at all (and I was there for well over 3 hours), except to defend her reasoning for not doing my hair the way I specifically requested. I found this strange, given I was giving them another chance, because I really like my former stylist. You would think an Owner would want to at least attempt to build a relationship of some type; or just be kind. One more note, while my hair was fine (not horrible), not one person could tell I had anything done, after almost 4 hours there and over $400 for a cut, single process and highlights. read more

My very first visit to Blush Salon in Newtown Square, PA. Katherine was my stylist. My immediate first impression was great. Welcomed by receptionist. The salon is clean and very elegant inside. Katherine took the time to sit and chat before shampooing and giving me a really nice Bob haircut. She showed me how to correctly blow dry my hair. I love that she listened to all my concerns. I really wanted to love this salon-my stylist and the shampoo assistant were very kind and professional-but this was completely overshadowed by the receptionist's off putting attitude. She snapped and spoke down to the stylist who did my hair right in front of me. This made for a very uncomfortable environment and I found it difficult to relax during my visit. It was hard to watch the people who actually made the salon worth visiting being treated so unfairly. I could see the stylists struggling to remain positive despite the tension caused by the receptionist. Had unbelievable color and cuts by Grace for years. Then the pandemic hit, and I didn't go in until September 2021. Had another great cut by Grace. Made an appointment in December, (had surgery in November and couldn't come in), and was called to reschedule due to Grace being ill. Totally understood. Rescheduled appointment was cancelled without explanation and was given an 8 am appointment the day of an event that I really needed to have my hair look good. Tried to reschedule due to work, but was not given an appointment that would work for me. So, I realized that Grace just didn't want to cut my hair anymore. I always tipped well so it was very disappointing. Tried again two years later with a stylist who had assisted Grace and thought might work be able to do the trick. She gave me the worst color and cut I've ever had. Maybe it was retaliation, but I'm not weird like that. She just wasn't good. I would recommend Grace, but just don't depend on her. read more

Brittany and Gina are absolutely amazing! They did the hair and makeup for my wedding last weekend and they crushed it. My bridesmaids, mom and I felt absolutely beautiful on my wedding day. Not only are they extremely talented, professional, knowledgeable, patient, and responsive, but they're also a ton of fun. We had so much fun talking to them throughout the morning. I've been to blush salon quite a few times over the years but it's been a while now. I booked through their website for a single process color and a haircut in the morning for an afternoon appointment. As I was on my way (I live 45 minutes away) I get a call from them saying they had no idea how I could have bookEd online because they're all booked up. Sure I get it, stuff happens. But I ask if they could at least squeeze me in for just a haircut and she said no. I just find that to be such bad customer service because it wasn't my fault their system had a glitch and I was willing to work with them. I will not be returning. I only gave this more then one star because of how nice my stylist was. However I was extremely disappointed with my hair. After telling them I had dyed my hair red a couple months prior to my appointment, my stylist said that is was fine to go straight into balayaging my hair. After she had bleached everything she checked on it and it was hot pink. I left the salon with disgusting brassy pink hair, and she didn't even tell me when I could come back until about 5 days after leaving the salon. When I went back she "fixed it" but it did not look anything like the picture I had showed her. Never will I go back to this salon, they cannot be trusted and they do not handle these situations well enough. I was left for days not knowing what I was gonna do with my hair because my stylist wasn't informed on how to properly take care of previously dyed hair. read more

If I could leave no stars I would. I made an appointment well over a month ago for my friend and I to get our hair done this coming Saturday for a wedding that we are in. The salon called me on Saturday to change the appointment time because one girl doesn't work there anymore. That was fine. Today, Monday (5 days before our appointments) they called me to say they decided to close the salon for weekend and they need to cancel on us leaving us in a bad spot. Now any reputable salon is booked. They also had the nerve to take my credit card information that they kept for the appointment. I told them this is so unprofessional being so close to the appointment date, and it's for a wedding. Their response was "well what are we supposed to do, open just for you?" They shouldn't have taken the appointment in the first place and realized it's a holiday weekend! Beyond rude people and unprofessional. I would never recommend them. read more

I will start with the positives. I loved the color. The cut looked great when I left the salon, but it my normally low maintenance style was cut into layers, meaning that I now struggle with it on a daily basis. Personally, I don't find that too upsetting, since it was the stylist's first time cutting my hair, and cut itself was fine. It's not her fault I'm not skilled with a round brush. The reason for the low rating is their business process. Unfortunately, I was unable to keep my second appointment due to bad weather and my mother being sick. The morning got away and I forgot to call. That's on me. However, the salon does not inform you in advance that they keep your credit card on file and charge you for whatever service you book, if you miss a confirmed appointment. I do understand the logic of the policy, and do not object to the principle. I also give credit to the fact that they did not charge me for my mother's appointment, since she was sick. However, I do object strongly to them keeping my card on file and charging me without my foreknowledge and consent. I considered challenging the charge with my credit card company, but opted to leave this review, instead. If you choose to do business here, at least you'll be aware of the policy. If I had been aware upfront, I would probably have gone back. Since they were not upfront about it, I won't. read more

Ok, this salon is legit. Riss did my cut and color and I absolutely LOVE it. The customer care is unlike any salon I've ever been to. She really took the time to explain the color correction process and products. loved That she asked if I was working with a budget because lets face it, hair can be expensive! Blush I just want all brides to know DO NOT book with Blush salon (@blush_salon) if you are looking for a hair and make up artist for their wedding unless you want them to cancel on you last minute. Specifically the artists at Blush Salon named Grace (@gracedachillehair) and Ris (@risthestylist). Grace reached out to the brides stating they wanted to come to their destination wedding to do their hair and makeup. After confirming with the brides that they would be there, they asked the brides to book their room and that Grace would pay them back in cash. Yesterday (23 days before the wedding) Grace and aria decided it wouldn't actually be feasible for them to go unless the brides were going to pay for the entire trip. This was never discussed before when Grace reached out. They are now refusing to pay back for the room and leaving the brides with the room bill. What a nice wedding present. One of the brides have been going to Grace for 15 years to get her hair done. The wedding is 22 days away and now the brides are rushing to find new hair and make up artist. Hoping that the resort isn't already fully booked to use their artist. After reading several reviews on Blush it seems as the hate wedding and think cancelling last minute is the way to run a business. Do not book with them if you want to add more stress on an already stressful situation. read more

The attitude of just about every single worker was beyond disappointing.. acted as if they rather be anywhere in the world and I was an inconvenience not a paying customer. In 2016 I gave them a 4 starts It was my second time going back to see Ashley, I like her. She takes her time to understand what I want. Make suggestions, doesn't rush and do a good job. I like the fact that it is a redken salon as well. I will develop a better of an opinion as I continue to go and visit the salon and will update my comments. If a friend refers you, you get $20 off your first visit, then they give you all kinds of coupons et. and a membership where you collect points. May 2018 I update my review to 3 starts I have been going to Blush Salon for several years now. I used to really like the person who took care of my hair but due to her pregnancy and delivery and having two kids her availability has been less. I totally understand that as a mother and have nothing bad to say. Since then I still have been going and getting into the schedule of whoever is available. I like to get blow dries as well and when I call (and yes I do call last minute) sometimes I get an appointment and sometimes I don't. It is usually 50% chance. I had a blow dry appointment last Saturday for 1:30 PM. I was running late for about 5 minutes, as a courtesy I called to let them know. I arrived around 1:36. I was told that my stylist will be with me shortly and that I was not late because she was running late. 10 minutes past, no acknowledgment of anything. I asked again, I was told she will be with me in 5 minutes, OK waited more. It was 2PM when I asked again and finally another stylist took me. Now that is not nice, really not nice. I was in super hurry, trying to be nice by calling and letting them know I am running late and what do I get as a result, 30 minutes wait. Why is it OK for stylist to make their client wait, while it is not ok when clients are late. I am super disappointed, and thinking of changing my salon. read more

The stylist I'm assigned to is very nice and trying her best to achieve the color I want. I'm trying to pursue silver/grey ombre from a natural dark brown color. I went for my first session to bleached my hair, deep conditioned, dyed and styled came out to $150. I scheduled another appointment to do one last bleach and to finally get it grey (go to my profile pic to see the result) and it came out blue, greenish and gold. This time she couldn't charge for the dye but the other services she did came out to $85 blow dry, styled and cut. Overall I'm feeling a bit discouraged to dye my hair and I'm due for one more visit next week to see if I finally get it grey. I did enjoy the hospitality but I didn't think I had to go to a salon 3x to pursue my dream hair. If anyone has any recommendations please share xoxo read more

The receptionists are welcoming and accommodating. I will also give Blush Salon a star for the lovely atmosphere. The majority of the stylists I've dealt with create a beautiful finished look and it's quite obvious the owners put forth a great amount of care in training their staff's talent. However, during my several visits to Blush, each time I've felt like "the odd man out," sitting in a chair silently staring at myself in the mirror while the stylist actively engaged with her coworkers or local friends. In fact, the last time I was there, my stylist became much more interested in taking a picture of my finished hair for her Instagram account than saying goodbye to me. As I stood next to her paying my bill, she kept her head down at her screen so she could immediately post the image, no longer interested in my presence. I felt neglected and considered cutting her tip in half just out of pure shock that I was out of her hair (pun intended). I would have let this moment pass, but it's not the first time I experienced such a letdown of a departure from Blush. If you're not one of their friends or a frequent regular, don't get an expectation that you'd be a valued customer. read more

Blush Salon is fantastic! My hairdresser, Mary Beth, is the best. She always is able to recreate whatever idea I want to do with my hair and she will give me her honest opinion if she doesn't think it would look good. I always walk out of there looking like a million bucks. I have also gotten spray tanned by Michelle and she really knows what she is doing. It was my first time ever getting a spray tan and I will definitely go back in the future. She really listens to what color you want and you don't have to fear that you will leave looking orange. I got the spray tan for a wedding I was in and it looked fantastic. Overall, the salon is very nice and clean. The colors are purple and black and it is very airy and open. The staff is extremely friendly and I never feel like I'm just another client. The availability of hair products for purchase are fantastic as well. They always have what I need. You definitely get what you pay for and I have never seen anyone walk out of Blush looking anything less than fabulous. Loved my updo by Gab! Disappointed in the how they handle the "blush bucks". Buyer beware. They advertise a great deal that if you purchase $100 GC you get $35 in blush bucks free. However, what they don't state upfront is that you can only use $10 blush bucks per visit. This is so wrong! I Will use the rest of my bucks on Merchandise and move on to another salon. Not happy that this is my money (blush bucks) and I should be able to use it when I want it and how many blush bucks I want to use per visit. read more

I love Lisa! I have had short hair for years, and Lisa does an incredible job always keeping it feminine and stylish. We try different variations each time, inspired by a collection of Pinterest photos. It is always perfect. Every cut grows out well in between visits, so I don't have to go back every 4 weeks. That was especially helpful during the COVID shutdown. I went back soon after it opened and staff had COVID precautions well in hand- face masks for all, space between clients, Lisa washed and cut my hair (rather than an extra person sharing our space), she wiped down everything in between clients, minimal blow drying, etc. I was very comfortable returning to Blush with all this in place. When I blew dry my hair the next day it was completely uneven and I had "holes" in my hair. I went to get my hair fixed at my salon in NJ and they couldnt believe how awful the cut was. I went here for about 6 months leading up to my wedding. I told my stylist I wanted to use them on my wedding day and when I tried to book it 2 months later, they told me they couldn't fit me in. I've had regular hair cuts, which were fair but not what I asked for. I've gotten my hair dyed twice which I spent over $100 for each time and then had to go buy dye and redo it myself. The 3rd time, I had them order me a stronger dye and they never ordered it 6 weeks later when I showed up for the appointment. I got tape hair extensions done by a "certified stylist". For my first extensions application, I had to go in there 3 times. First time, they didn't have them. Second time, they only ordered enough for half my head, and third time, I finally got them in but they were still not the length I wanted in order to do my bridal hair style I wanted. The extensions, which are supposed to be moved up after 6 weeks and which I spent about $500 on, Started falling out after 4 weeks even with proper care and only washing them once a week. I barely made it through my honeymoon and they started to fall out towards the end. So romantic, right? I also can't get the adhesive out of my hair. I called to have them fix it and they said they couldn't fit me in. I asked to speak to a manager who they said would call back and didn't. I can't go to another salon because nobody will touch them without charging as a new application. Now I'm left with sticky knotted hair and have spent just under $900 in the past 6 months. With that being said I didn't know where to go when now that I finally grew my hair out. Also the prices were much higher than what was on their website when I asked they said they had gone up but were never changed. My 2nd person said I am using a color that will seal your ends. Small, cramped, crowded. Spray tan occurs in a dark, dirty shower stall in the back (yikes!). The stylists were all quite pretty and seemed friendly and knowledgable. The owner should get the empty store next door and expand the salon. They need a legit room (with a door and lights!) for their spray tanning; also, providing barrier cream for hands and feet, a hair cover, paper towels (for wiping off barrier cream), a fan to help dry, and a timer so the tanner knows when their 5 min dry time is done would help to make it worth the price. read more

I've had the same hair style for 9 years, so when I decided I wanted to switch things up and get bangs, I knew I needed to go somewhere that wouldn't mess them up. After doing some research I came across Blush Salon in Newtown Square, PA. Michelle, the owner had some great reviews online so I booked an appointment with her. I came into the appointment more nervous than I had ever been about a haircut especially because I have some bad cowlicks and wasn't sure if I was making a huge mistake by getting bangs. When I met with Michelle, I showed her some pictures of the hair style that I was looking for. She could tell how nervous I was and she reassured me that she would teach me how to style my bangs. Throughout the whole haircut, Michelle was wonderful! As she cut she taught me the best way to take care of my bangs so my cowlicks wouldn't be a problem. She cut my hair EXACTLY how I wanted (which was ironically similar to hers) and showed me the best products to use in order to give my hair some volume. Usually after hair cuts, I go home hating it and end up trying to fix it myself. Not this time! For the first time I had a perfect hair cut even considering the drastic change I had! The price was reasonable as well! Especially for a recent college graduate under a budget. Overall, if you are looking for a perfect cut by a friendly, knowledgeable professional, I would HIGHLY recommend booking an appointment with Michelle from Blush Salon. You won't be disappointed!
