I was spending the summer before beginning my undergraduate program at Webster University at an internship in Washington DC and therefore my mother picked out my apartment. I trusted her though, she had been a rental manager at an apartment complex so I knew she knew what to look for. I was generally pleased with the apartment. It was a good size and a good price. There was a swimming pool on site that I spent many an hour during the summer during my time there. The laundry room was clean and there were plenty of washers and dryers to use. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I had a balcony that was wonderful on warm days. On the downside, the walls were VERY thin and I heard every sneeze of my neighbors. I leaned against the wall once and it dented! Parking was limited on the weekends and sometimes I couldn't find a spot near my apartment since there was no designated parking for residents. And there were cockroaches. I know that there are cockroaches at any complex and at least the maintenance staff would come out right away and take care of the situation whenever I called about them.

So by the time they told me that I was denied, they called me 20 minutes before they closed to come get my deposit back. It was pouring rain outside. f*ck this S*it hole. Going to be completely honest with this one and 3 stars is a stretch. I lived here probably 4 years…read morein the 3 level townhome. I moved in with my fiancé and child, and then had another baby as I lived there. Property managers were great- nice, easy to talk to, easy to work with. Maintenance is very nice as well and quick for the most part. Upon move in I felt very deceived and lied to. I won't get into details out of respect but someone had died in the unit I moved into just a few months prior to me and my whole family moving in. I felt partially slighted not being informed as some people are religious and I feel like it would have been the morally correct thing to do as I have children. However, upon move in there we're still broken things (a kitchen cabinet, a hole in a door, a huge crack in another door) from those previous tenants and it was honestly very morbid to have to look at those things daily knowing what happened until they were replaced. (I found out details of what happened from neighbors) The quality of the apartments is absolutely horrible. For the money you pay, these places need renovating and should not be falling apart like they were. I had to put about 7 or 8 maintenance requests in for the same thing over and over. They used a cheap vinyl on my floors that were ripped upon move in and they were never fixed so I gave up. There's a HUGE problem with water leaks in the basements of the 3 level townhomes. Me and both my neighbors had the same issues. Someone came out about 4 times to fix it and it was never fixed. Thank God this happened towards the end of our time here because the whole place smelled horrible and it definitely molded the carpet. Do not keep ANYTHING in your car as break ins are very common. I have emails back and forth with management about what they'd do about that problem (cameras, if i could have a spot in front of my place to park so i could get a ring camera, etc) to which not a single thing was done. Onto the positives- this is a very animal friendly place! Highly recommend if you have animals. Neighbors are nice. Pool is huge. It's enough I renewed my lease there and it's probably at the same standard of a lot of other rentals in stl.

And the maintenance team never let the day go by without addressing one of my concerns, though I only had to reach out to them on a couple of occasions. On top of that, the unit I toured was very nice, but the one I was given seemed in even better shape.

Now that I am out, I can anonymously share what tenants are dealing with due to the new owners…read more Here are a few of the specific complaints from tenants who have been residents of these properties for 3 to nearly 20 years (identifying attributes removed or generalized for anonymity): These new owners are ATROCIOUS. WITHOUT NOTICE, the new owners now allow dogs which one tenant is extremely allergic to, causing them to go on medication due to the new pets in their building and the smell/hair/dander in the carpeted hallway. Another cannot cope with the incessant barking heard coming from the adjacent building. The grass and grounds where children had played are now covered in yellow stained spots from urine and feces of the animals (note: feces is being cleaned up but the damage to the grass is still happening). Dumpsters impede the full use of the driveway. THERE IS NO COMMUNICATION ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE DOING. The new owners are allowing new and disrespectful tenants who scream at all hours of the day and night and slam doors to where the entire building and those on the street can hear - they seem to take anyone now. Non-residents/workers are leaving doors unlocked and propped open after they depart. One tenant pays for a parking spot but someone else is regularly in it, assumed to be a hired worker. They never told one tenant about the construction and they work from home and were unable to run a very important meeting for work due to the non-stop drilling noise. Attempts have been made, without notice, to enter a unit while a minor child was home alone. One tenant is extremely sensitive to pesticide and would vacate for a couple days when the previous owner notified them of a treatment. NO NOTICE was given when the new owners treated, causing this tenant to pass out in their kitchen in front of their small child who didn't know what to do. Poison control was called and the treating company refused to provide the type of chemical used that day without authorization from the building owner. NO ADVANCE NOTICE is being given of construction and apartment entry, causing numerous tenants to experience unknown contractor knocks and entry into units last minute. Notices are no longer posted in the buildings in advance or at each tenant's door. The new owners said there would be drop boxes installed to submit rent - that never happened. An email notice was sent to one tenant the day after the email said they would be entering the tenant's unit - which required the tenant to execute several tasks they were unable to do and it was during the holidays. Non-residents are now entering the buildings and "snooping" through different areas that were previously secured and are now being left open - damage to the property has occurred. The "upgrades" may look nice at first but they are really cheap and remove any historical charm the units previously had. The "improvements" are done so poorly and are cheap and nothing matches, the new paint is already peeling off and you can see through the paint because it needed primer or another coat. There is a new tenant who must have serious mental health issues and there is a concern for children because they are making "demonic dolls" and "shrines" and putting stacks of full beer cans in odd locations in their walkways. Hopefully these owners can take this as constructive criticism to improve their communication and screening process since the tenants don't feel comfortable speaking up about their individual experiences outside of hallway and sidewalk conversations.

I was with my sister and brother-in-law this past Saturday to help them in their apartment search…read more We looked at about 6 properties in one day with this location being the 2nd one we looked at. Even though we saw it early in the day, we couldn't get it out of our minds! Everything we looked at afterwards was compared to these apartments!! While it was on the higher side of the price range compared to the others we looked at, you could tell they had a lot more to offer. Our first reaction as we turned into the driveway towards the leasing office was how beautiful the grounds and buildings looked! Everything looked crisp and tidy. The grounds looked very well-maintained and we could see a few people wandering the grounds, walking their dogs or just enjoying the beautiful day (until it started to rain). We met with Mike, who happened to be working there on his first day at this location (with many years of experience in leasing at other properties). While he was not fully familiar with the property, he didn't let that stop him from giving us an excellent tour! He talked with his manager Pam a few times to get some clarification on a few things before taking us across the way to a 2-bedroom model. He explained to us that the only 2-bedroom apartment available for immediate move in was only partially renovated while the model was fully remodeled so that we had proper expectations for what we could expect. He even showed us some pictures comparing the two styles to show us the differences and it was clear the only big difference was a few cosmetic changes in the kitchen. We then asked him if we could see the vacant one just to get a better idea of the location and what the partially renovated kitchen looked like. So he took us over there and we saw it was near the back side of the property, away from the street. It looked very nice and had a great shade tree just out front. He did have difficulty opening the door, as his key didn't seem to work properly. However, he was able to get a different key from the front office and we were able to get inside and take a look around. As we expected, there were a few differences from the fully renovated model we viewed earlier. The counter tops and cabinets were a different color and this apartment did not come with a microwave - all very minor things to us. A big plus was that the unit came with a washer and dryer in one of the bedrooms!! Definitely a big perk considering the laundry facility was not attached to the building. After taking the day to shop around a bit longer, my sister and brother-in-law came to the decision that they would get the apartment we looked at at this property. Because they made up their minds late in the day, we were not able to put the apartment on hold in the same day. We had to wait until Monday because their office is closed on Sundays, but upon walking in at 9am Monday morning, they were able to submit their applications and put the apartment on hold until their applications were processed. They picked up the keys and signed the lease on Tuesday and are very comfortable in their new home!! Another great thing to note: they were very accommodating to walk-ins! I had called the previous day to schedule an appointment and they told us we could walk in any time between 9am - 5pm and they would be able to show us around - no appointment necessary. So we squeezed this apartment in between some of our other scheduled appointments and it was very much worth it! We actually spent more time looking at this property than we did any of the other 5 locations we viewed that day.

She fell at 2am on a Sunday. The facility is supposed to check on their residents by 9 am. No one checked on my mother that day at all. Infuriating. I talk with mother usually every Sunday so when I didn't hear back from her by Monday morning, I called Crestview to do a wellness check. Tori said she went to check on mom and said that mom was just tired but okay. So it took me calling to get them to check on her. Turns out that later in the day, another gal named Lisa, found my mom at 3pm still lying on the bathroom floor, in pain. She called 911 and my mom was taken to the hospital - after lying on the floor for 37 hours. So much for good care. We found a new place for mom and when I went to clean our mom's apt at Crestview last week, the director Christina asked to speak to me. She denied that we had left her any voice messages and said she didn't receive any - from myself, my aunt and also mom's social worker. Christina insisted we give a written 30-day notice and that mom has to pay for September rent despite her move being involuntary, as she can no longer live independently. I asked Christina if there was any way we could reach an agreement since we are not a litigious family, but she was unwilling to budge at all. OH, P.S. The State of Missouri is now investigating them for the elder abuse.

We have used a few services that you pay for such as Senior Helpers when she had a wound that needed daily tending and that was very helpful and reassuring. Also the on-site salon for haircuts and pedicures is convenient. One huge downside to caution about is that meals are not served at all on Sunday nights. This has been burdensome for our family and other residents have grumbled about this repeatedly. They get used to not cooking and then there is no meal and families are not always able to help. So then it's cold leftovers or PBJ. But that is the only down side, other than that, it's a wonderful place and we would recommend it!
