I was too tired and needed a little caffeine boost. My partner and I are staying at a hotel close to LAX and didnt feel like leaving the hotel so we ordered via UberEats. I am familiar with ChaTime but never tried it so why not? I ordered premium boba milk tea with half sugar and boba for myself while my partner ordered cookies and cream smoothie. My order tasted good. It wasnt sweet at all. My problem though is I ordered it with boba but I didnt get any boba in my drink. Mind you, I paid extra for that. I was super excited to find that there was a Chatime near me, but my enthusiasm was soured by the service, which wasn't that helpful. Only one girl was working during that time, and when I asked for help with app ordering, she told me to just figure it out on the iPad ordering system while she stood by chatting with one of her friends. I eventually figured out my question by myself, but I'm pretty sure they didn't hire her to stand around and just chit chat.... The drinks themselves were pretty decent, and fairly priced for how large the cups were. I ordered the taro mousse milk tea (which is one of their most popular drinks) and the pumpkin spice milk tea (seasonal, surprisingly works very well), and enjoyed both, although I've definitely had better boba elsewhere. Haven't been to the Fox Hills Mall in a minute. The hubs and I were craving something sweet to drink and saw this Cha Time on the 2nd floor. We ordered through a kiosk and waited a bit for our drinks as they told us that there was a big order before ours. Got the lychee slush and hubs got the watermelon slush. This review is based primarily on what I witnessed while waiting for my 12-year old goddaughter to order her drink, at 8:15pm on a Thursday evening (they close at 9:00pm) There was nobody at the counter. Most of the toppings bins were open, crumbs were all over the counters, & the ice containers had no lids. Called out for service for a few minutes and no one showed up. As we walked away a young lady with a mop and bucket came from the back. She instructed us to order on their iPad and then started to mop the small store/booth. The pine-sol smell immediately took over. Once the order was ready to be prepared, the employee pushed that mop to the side and went right to making the drink. No gloves. No hand washing. Although the young lady helping us was very nice once she came up front, the entire visit was pretty disgusting. read more

Absolutely terrible the way you guys run your business. The first time we tried you guys we ordered on the kiosk and there were no large cups available. Luckily the barista was nice enough to make our drinks x2 because we missed the sign above the kiosk saying "No Large cups". It was our mistakes for missing the note, but who runs a business and runs out of cups? The second time we passed by like ooo okay there's no sign they have cups, we were told no drinks except green tea. The way it looked was things were cleaned up ahead of time and nothing was able to be made and the mall closed in like an hour. Just shut the whole day down then, the way we were yelled at when we walked up instead of just saying "hey we apologize we only have green tea available" but no it was "We only have green tea." as she was on her phone like we interrupted her. The third and last time we will ever interact with this business was through UberEats. The store decided to cancel on their end because they ran out of aloe vera. Make that make sense. Not only were we not contacted, just make the drinks without aloe vera and be done, nope they decide let's just cancel the whole order, that didn't show up on my end. So you're telling me to cancel so I can get charged? Ha, you think I'm stupid? Absolutely not. If they supposedly canceled my order I should see that on my end, nope they claimed it was UberEats' fault. Huh? My order is still active on my side. Two poor drivers who were super sweet had to deal with them. Disgusting. Honestly just shut the whole place down. Chagee opened up and there's a new boba spot coming soon. I'll visit them. I think the price is too high for a regular tea and the menu is misleading instead of putting the price of the drink on the menu, they tell you that it's going to be an Up Charge for the size. The part of my experience here that I liked the least were the confusing prices. This Chatime tea stand location is located inside the Culver City Westfield Mall. You go up to a touch screen and place your order there. Looking at the menu on the TV's above, I thought the drinks would be cheap, so I decided to get some here. However, when I was ordering on the screen, the drinks were pricier. For example. The lychee green tea on the screen was $5.10, but the small size on the touch screen was $7 and $8.50 for a regular size?! I was confused, but I wasn't able to ask since the staff were in the back of the kitchen and there was a line behind me, so I just ordered. I got the small lychee green tea with lychee jelly which was $7. The drink was decent and refreshing. I like how it tasted like they used real fruit. However, $7 for this wasn't worth it, especially compared to other chains out there who offer bigger drinks at better quality for cheaper. $7 would be a large size at other boba spots.
