I know I'm not supposed to expect much from end of day sales, but I was thoroughly disappointed at the dryness and saltiness of their savoury Taiwanese sausage bun. I feel like they could either cook it to be more moist or store it better, and for sure don't add salt to something already salty. I visited yesterday evening at ~8:50PM after watching a movie as I was starving and tired and needed a little something for the commute home in north east Scarborough. Service was friendly and the staff was helpful with my questions. The store has booth - chair table seating so you could sit with just 2 people at a time at a table or join the tables for larger groups. Their bakery brand (Bake Code) features a variety of innovated desserts and baked breads. They have several different ongoing promotions, like if you buy 6+ buns, you pay no tax. If you buy 5 buns, you get one free. End of day sale for buns is 25% OFF. They have a VIP card for $20 that gives you 10% off buns on every visit for a year. The Taiwanese sausage bun was featured as the bun of the month. The promotions do not stack so you get the best available deal. In my case, it was the 25% off. 2 of the savoury croissants we had were just crispy dry. When I eat a croissant, I expect something moist and buttery. This was neither. Last Monday night, I was in Vaughan. I had just downed dinner and was sipping coffee. I needed bubble tea. I remembered this Chatime and drove over here. It's interesting that every time there's precipitation, I am at the Cineplex in Vaughan. Nearly two years ago, there was slush everywhere, which prompted me to not drag myself through it to visit this Chatime. I have always made a mental note to visit it ever since. It was pouring rain when I parked in front of Chatime. It is also a BakeCode store, which is double the trouble and also highly convenient to satisfy my dessert cravings. I walked in. There was one other person ahead of me. It allowed me to look at all the pastries and goodies from BakeCode first, followed by the Chatime menu. I got the nicest male staffer helping me with my order. He was so great. I ordered the tea of the month for October, which was a large chocolate malt milk tea. I also eyed the peanut butter and jelly croissant. I have never had a croissant from BakeCode, so this evening was it. He let me know that it would take five minutes to make my drink. I paid using my debit card. It was easy. He handed me my croissant. It looked so pretty and yummy. Part of me wanted to eat it immediately, but I needed something to wash it down and I didn't want to attack it in the store like a crazy croissant monster. Sure enough, in just under five minutes, my bubble tea was ready. He was great to suggest shaking it before drinking it. It was a nice reminder. I thanked him, wished him a good evening, and walked out with my goodies in the rain. I had to focus on driving in such gloomy conditions, so I didn't eat or drink my purchases until I got home. I have had the chocolate malt milk tea before. In fact, it was my go-to drink for months last year until I decided that a change of pace would be great! It was nice getting reacquainted with it. I love it so much. It hit the spot. I then had the peanut butter and jelly croissant. OMG! I can die happy now. I loved the peanut butter filling inside the croissant, which was buttery, flaky, and heavenly. The jelly provided a subtle contrast. If you love peanut butter, get this croissant. The chopped peanuts on top worked well and added a nice dimension to the entire croissant. This store is now my favourite Chatime-BakeCode combo store. Markham is fortunate to have a similar store, but I didn't get that same euphoric feeling than I did here. I am looking forward to returning here when I'm in the area to try more items off the menu. Came in to pick up a few pastries to go at Bakecode. Got a few Swiss rolls, a matcha basque cheesecake and one of their sweet pastries. The matcha flavoured cheesecake and pastry was very matcha ish- so if you love matcha you'll love this. Like other Asian desserts none of the choices were "too sweet." I personally do like my desserts a little sweeter so this wouldn't be my go to spot but I'm glad I tried it! The Swiss rolls were probably my favourite- great flavours. Docking a star because I do find their pastries a little overpriced for what they are. I found it odd that the large sized cheesecake was 9.00 and a single wrapped bun was 5.00 but maybe because Asian pasties at Asian bakeries are crazy cheap and this is not one of those shops... read more

For a cake, they were nice enough to provide a proper (instead of plastic plate) when requested for photography purposes. Since it is part of a mall, there is free parking. I was a little skeptical because they're pretty expensive for a croissants it was $25 for a box of six but oh my gosh let me tell you when I tried these croissants they were so good each and every single one. Came here after dinner time for some bubble tea. This location has a bakery with a lot of delicious looking variety of baked goods... But we were too full to try any of them. We got a hot milk tea with Tapioca and an iced peach green tea with Tapioca. To say the least, we were not disappointed in the quality at all. It's like all other locations. The decor here is beautiful and very welcoming... Makes me actually want to stay at the store and hang out, unlike most other locations that are not as well taken care of. This Chatime location is easily the nicest looking one that I've visited. The interior design is chic - a contemporary zen kind of vibe. There is some greenery hanging from the ceiling (a bit like a canopy) over a large communal table on the right side by the entrance, as well as a black and white patterned wall on the left side by a couple of smaller booths. There are some wooden elements added here and there to further add to that zen vibe. The overall aesthetic adds a little something extra to an otherwise ordinary visit for bubble tea. Another thing that sets this location apart from others is that there is the great selection of pastries and treats from Bake Code that you can view at the counter to go with your bubble tea. It always seems pretty stocked despite the number of people who come here. There are various croissants, tarts, macarons, cakes, to name a few. I particularly like their delicious cheese tart. In terms of bubble tea selection, this location has some of the standard selection you would see at any Chatime location. There are a couple of different milk teas, slushes, smoothies, juices, iced teas, etc. There are also some coffee choices, which is different. As far as I know, it doesn't have the same bubble tea choices as a Chatime Innovation Bar but hopefully that will change in the future. I actually really like this place. You have the option to customize your bubble tea here to your preference; from sugar levels/percentages, amount of ice and toppings. I am hooked on one of their speciality drinks: iced Mango Green Tea with pearls (tapioca). I normally request it to be made with slight sugar (30% of what they normally put) so the sugar is not overpowering the true flavors of the tea and with less ice so the drink doesn't get water downed. I really like their tapioca or "pearls" as they call it - the name is on point, it truly has a silky smooth texture. I tried their Japanese caramel cheesecake and it was light and fluffy. Although, I am not a fan of their slush drinks, its not that they taste bad but its just not the best. I think for me the slush drinks lack real fruit, there's more artificial flavouring and powder substitutes instead which makes it not taste as refreshing. This place is fairly new so the set up is modern and clean. I would say it's a great set up for catching up with friends, dates or to simply get some work done (free WIFI!). I came into this location 2 weeks ago on my birthday weekend. I was looking forward to redeeming my birthday drink. But they employee told me that my birthday was not registered. Okay sure maybe that's my fault but shouldn't it be an easy fix? Just register my birthday and let me redeem my drink. The cashier was confused and didn't offer to do that for me, another employee stepped in and offered to try that (he was a much better help) but the birthday drink still did not pop up. But really it should just be an easy fix. They can just add 10 points manually and then I'll be able to redeem my drink and they'll just subtract the points right away. It's a win win situation. I get my drink and they get a happy customer. But no they didn't offer that and I know they can do that since I used to work for Vinicity/Fivestars (their loyalty program) And what was even more ridiculous was the girl cashier said you can redeem with your own points. This place was like a hole in the wall since it's tucked away at a corner in this plaza by the Cineplex theatres on Famous. You probably would've never even realized it was there because it blends in with its other neighbours in my opinion. This Chattime/BakeCode has a unique aesthetic - black and white tiles bordering the foyer with wooded benches, as well as wooded seating with some booths. There's plants hanging on different ends and a nice view of the pastries amongst the glass once you enter. The menu and signage are all easy to read and understand. The staff were so helpful in suggesting what to choose as this was my first time buying anything from Bake Code. Sadly, they didn't have their Molten salted egg croissant at the time but I sufficed with alternatives. This means I'll be back for sure lol Instead I got the coffee-glazed bun, the Taiwanese sausage pastry, the garlic and mushroom croissant, and then another custard bun. They prepare it in a toaster oven so you can heat it up and enjoy it warm. Overall, when I came in, it was empty, other than a few passerby's here and there, and seemed like a pretty chill place to study or eat. I'm not exaggerating even a little bit when I say that I have been to every single Chatime location in Toronto & the GTA. I will always be loyal to Chatime client because no matter the location, the drinks always taste the same (despite the franchise aspect). When I heard that Chatime was opening in the Colossus plaza--I was ecstatic! It's literally down the street from my house and the location in front of Vaughan Mills has been really busy lately (looooong line-ups). Plus the Second Cup location which was previously there, wasn't attracting any crowds. Let's cut to the chase, I'm very shocked that this location has both Chatime & Bake Code. The area does not need another bakery and placing one right in front of the movie theatre is a bit odd. Walking in, I was expecting a Chatime location with a full menu & only a couple desserts. What's more shocking is that the Chatime menu is limited. For such a huge location, I'm surprised that the full menu wasn't implemented. The plus side is the Bake Code carries some of their own drinks, such as the Ube Latte (which I will surely try next time). There's also a selection of other coffee/tea related drinks. P. S. I came by this new chat time location in my area and decided to give it a try. It has a cake and pastry section as well as a bubble tea section which is awesome. Most chat time places don't have pastries and cakes, it was a good idea that they decided to add more to the menu for people who like to have something to eat with their drinks as they rest or socialize. We ordered two mango smoothies and two cakes. I tried the Belgium chocolate roll and original Swiss roll, it did not taste dry at all even though we came at 10pm before closing time. This is probably the best chatime location I have ever visited! The space is interesting, comfy seating with trendy decor. Not as much seating available as some chatime locations but the atmosphere and cute decor makes up for it. The staff at this location are also very genuine with great customer service, they asked how my day waa going, which is a personal touch I don't experience at most chatime locations. The best thing about this location is that it is partnered with a Bake Code! There was so many desserts and pastries available that I have never seen at any other Chatime before. I purchased the Bake Code signature drink Matcha Green Tea with Sea Salt Crema, and the roasted milk tea croissant as well. The drink was amazing, I always love the sea salt crema series- but the croissant was heavenly! The staff offered to warm in up and the roasted milk tea filling on the inside was just amazing. This is definitely one of best Chatime locations available in terms of service, snack varieties and atmosphere- and I will be returning to try as many as possible of the Bake Code pastries! read more

Came here for the first time today with my bestie and OMG i loved everything about it. I felt like a piece of Japan was brought to Canada. Such awesome decor, food and atmosphere. The staff were super friendly and organized, the food was incredibly fresh and tasty and I wouldn't change a thing! I had the passion fruit green tea (which turned out to be the tea of the month and the server let me know that it was cheaper to get the large size, thank you for that! Not many people would mention it as they tech would make less money on the sale!) and the Japanese Cheesecake. The tea was so vibrant and strong in flavour which i love! And the cheesecake was nothing i've ever tasted before!! Light and fluffy like a pancake with a hint of cheese. This location will probably become my favourite one to go to! Not only is it a lot closer to where I live, but it's beautiful inside with a lot of seating. From the official Chatime website, this location is opened earlier than the rest and opened pretty late as well, so that's a bonus. I came on their second opening date, was warmly greeted by the workers and ordered my usual drink. The girl taking my order was still getting the hang of where all the buttons are on their pos system, so taking my order was a bit slow but totally understandable. My drink was made super fast though! And it tasted great! The roasted milk tea actually tastes roasty, unlike some locations where it tastes too milky, and their tapioca is perfectly chewy! Service was friendly and drink quality was high so I'll definitely be coming back. read more
