I honestly wasn't expecting much at. This place was recommended to me but I was just like whatever's. Hayden and Tommy upstairs were beyond accommodating. I am a single female to a brand new city. Tommy pouring the drinks with a smile and younger Hayden just smiling and going along for whatever and apparently loving his job. I ended up ordering the Philly rolls 9.8/10. I had low expectations honestly. But my goodness I'll be coming just for that. So my only complaint is....smoking. I hate smoke and this is a smoking establishment. I was told it's no smoking downstairs bar but it's upstairs the pool tables and darts are. I think they need go switch it. But anyhow.... come to this place. We had to come to the Chattanooga Billiards Club when we came to town! This building has so much history. Built in the early 1900's it was a car shop in the 20's then a boardinghouse in the 40's now it's a Cigar Bar and Billiards Club with live music most nights and an Impressive Whiskey Shelf! We did not eat but we enjoyed a smoke and several rounds of drinks! Our server was phenomenal, keeping up with all 9 of us! The pool hall, upstairs was not open yet, however I did get a tour and history tale of the building. I love that as the business changed they did not cover the original brick but filled in doors and fireplaces, so cool and the woodwork here is stunning! read more

The chicken tenders here are fire!! I couldn't believe how tasty they were. My gf and I seriously considered being some back to Nashville. Absolutely get the those if you are hungry. The staff were friendly and the upstairs was pretty spacious. Pool is only $1 and there was no wait. It was a lot of young people there having a good time. The bar tender definitely made our drinks strong and he was very attentive. Unfortunately, the waitress on the top floor was a bit scatterbrained. We waited quite a long time to get our food and the waitress kept blaming it on the kitchen which I didn't like. We needed her to go figure out why the food was taking so long. I didn't like how she was throwing the kitchen under the boss when she had no idea what was going on. The bartender showed us lots of attention by making sure we had more water and more drinks. Our family group of 5 came for a late lunch after visiting the art museum, based on a local's recommendation and my daughter having been here once in the past. Other than a few drinkers at the bar, we were the only table. We ordered a couple of the appetizer samplers, some onion rings, chicken tenders, and the steak wrap. Most of it was pretty good, about what you'd expect from bar food. Limited selection of draft beers but drinkable. The sole waitress was very friendly, but the kitchen took a long time to produce anything, until it all came out at the same time. They recently installed a metal detector at the door for "precautionary reasons" and are charging a $5 cover to pay for it. I've been coming here for over a decade and I'm appalled at the way the business is being handled now. You're a bar, not the TSA and the lady running the show has the customer service skills of a prison guard. Good place to play but they are a little crooked. Went to play today before 6 to get the day rate. They charged me the regular hourly rate and the response was "you didn't ask for the day rate". It's published on their website. No offer to correct and charge lower just a basic too bad out didn't ask for the day rate. Cost me twice as much as it should have. I have been a loyal customer for 5+ years. Have always had the best experience and so much respect for the staff. Unfortunately with the new management, I don't even know the witch's name, has made my opinion and experience so poor. Recently my friends and I came for my birthday and I was told to button my sweater because I showed too much skin. Then tonight my friend and I were turned away bc of the cut out in my shirt. Terrible service. The place is super trashy. They don't let women in if they wear a bra size over a B cup and single the ones that don't fit that range out. Management are disgusting excuses for human beings and extremely small minded. The fact that they discriminate against the natural body's of women but allow men that have been seen unbuttoning their shirts completely leavening their entire hairy beer gut stomach out is ridiculous. I hate this place. It's not because of the space itself; I actually liked the interior, although it can get pretty crowded and hard to move around. It's the type of people who come here that I don't like. This is a place for self-absorbed, obnoxious frat boys to smoke cigars and play pool; a place for balding middle-aged men on the prowl; a place for ditzy, high-maintenance women who are merely "arm candy" for their frat boyfriends. As an introverted, "alternative" type girl who fits no standard for traditional beauty, I felt *extremely* uncomfortable and I could actually feel the stares on me. It's like they knew I didn't belong and were questioning why the hell I was there. The service sucks, too. I guess because I wasn't bleach blond with my boobs hanging out, I couldn't get a drink in a timely matter. Take out is quick and friendly. The burgers are huge. The mushroom swiss burger was really good. I'd get it againbut I wouldn't spend the extra money for chips. I came here for a cigar in indoor comfort and was not disappointed! Fantastic vintage building in downtown area. Parking in the street right in front of the building. Nice feel to the place. Very high ceilings, large bar area and excellent humidor. Purchased 2 La Flor cigars which where well kept (no cracking, good moisture/humidity) and fresh. This is a great place to play pool. It is sometimes hard to find a table on a Friday or Saturday night though. The drinks are not too bad. You can get a natural light for $1.00. I have to say the best thing about this place is the wait staff. This one lady there was the nicest waitress I have ever met. She gave us free drinks because my chair was wet and was always alert to if we needed something. I have ate in the banquet room once before for a wedding reception and it was very good food. There was a lot of different choices and they were nice and hot. It was also a very fancy setting. I highly recommend this place for hanging out or a fancy pantsie wedding reception. read more

This is pretty much the smokiest bar you will ever go to. You can literally see smoke clouds in the bar. Be prepared for all your clothes to reek of cigarettes when you leave this bar. Besides that, this is a cool bar if it's not crowded, with a bunch of nice pool tables. Where other bars have come and gone over the years in downtown Chattanooga, the Chattanooga Billiard Club has not only endured but was recently renovated. The food is above par and fairly priced. They have a very well stocked walk in cigar humidor to suit the avid aficionado or the occasional smoker. And, if smoking is not your thing, they have a separate smoke free dining area. There are plenty of billiard tables on the second floor along with additional seating. They are quarter tables, so you're not charged an hourly rate and you don't have to fool with leaving your credit card and ID at the bar while you play. The staff is friendly but If you don't have an ID, or you're not 21, don't bother coming. They'll turn you away at the door. I just enjoy hanging out in the leather chairs on the main floor while enjoying a good smoke and a drink or two. read more

This was a late night stop on our pub crawl, so memory is a bit hazy, but it was a pretty cool place. The atmosphere was nice and the building was really cool. Downstairs was just a basic bar area with seating, it was absolutely dead. Upstairs was a bit livelier with another bar, TVs, pool tables, and juke boxes, but for some reason we stayed downstairs. The bartender was a cool cat and chatted with us a bit. We ordered a couple of pizzas, which were just fine. I'd stop back by this place again, but probably would hang out upstairs next time. read more

We went here on Saturday with some friends for Valentine's Day. We talked to the bartender to get on the wait list to play pool he said there were only two people ahead of us and they would call is when it was our turn. He was very pleasant and had such a kind smile! He works very fast to take care of his customers! We found an open table and talked while we waited. We sat in the far corner by the elevator. The waiter that came around to clean the tables was very nice as well. He even did a little trick with a bag to make us laugh. After the two names were called we were up and had a great night hanging with our friends and playing pool! Will defiantly go back soon! read more

We come to cbc allot. Actually, because of negative guest experiences it is our go to. Our favorite bartender is sam. We couldn't wait until she got back from her wedding.
