I highly recommend the "Bartender's Choice" cocktail option--the staff is incredibly skilled, and the drinks they crafted were awesome. However, management needs to fix their highly deceptive checkout flow. The bar chooses not to bake Tennessee's mandatory 15% Liquor-by-the-Drink tax into their menu prices. When the bartender flips the POS tablet to pay, the system completely hides the itemized receipt. It jumps straight to a final total that includes a combined 24.25% in state and liquor taxes. To make matters worse, the screen presents ridiculous suggested tip options of 20%, 30%, and 40%--which are calculated on top of that heavily taxed final total rather than the subtotal. If you just tap a prompt, you end up aggressively tipping on hidden taxes. Come for the excellent cocktails and great bartenders, but ignore the suggested buttons and manually calculate your tip based on the actual menu price of your drinks.

This club is managed by complete assholes. The service is horrible and abusive follow me on this little tour. Entering bang they get your money right away with a cover charge, then you get overpriced horrible food and drinks, with the big brother cowboy hat asshole bully security abusing customers. I believe the assumption if they name a place Whiskey Cowgirl cute girls will show up. This is not the case. The patrons particularly women were pretentious and fake, not in the least attractive. Attending the establishment the eve of Christmas Eve Friday night with a disabled friend on crutches, I politely asked for napkins after ordering chicken wings. Then ten minutes go by and security shows up next to me and my friend on crutches. The bar tender obviously has no interest in serving customers because who would ever serve chicken wings without serving napkins? Anyway it appears the logic the bar tender used was instead of accepting her mistake, she contacted security recommending they remove the customer for asking for napkins? I have to compliment her logic, it's efficient to exterminate people in gas chambers too, right? It's horrible business in my opinion but she is a woman bar tender and she has authority to make all the rules according to Whiskey Cowgirl Managment. This does not speak well of the management and results in customer abuse. The best review I can give is run by moronic assholes. Returning to the door speaking with security about my disabled friend security threatened to pepper spray me. It was totally insane and embarrassing. But how was I going to fight with five guys twice my size over not being served napkins? This is what you can expect in at whiskey Cowgirl, a bunch of asshole security guys that think they are cool looking like undercover cops. So being the thoughtful good customer I am and wishing to spread a little love this season I wrapped the plastic box of eaten chicken wings and added some napkins delivering the peace of chicken bones and this attached message to the Whiskey Cowgirl owner. I told her I was excited to dine here, specifically in the bar, based on reviewers comments. Her friendliness and positive attitude assured me I made the right decision. However, the bar area was not as inviting or welcoming as the evening progressed. My bartender was cordial and asked if I wanted a cocktail. I asked if this place makes a good Cosmopolitan. He said "Do you like it tart or sweet?" (Never been asked that before, but I appreciated the question.) I said "tart" and he made me the BEST Cosmopolitan I've had in a while! It was served half in a glass and the rest in a small decanter surrounded in a glass of ice. Great presentation and even better drink! Just a touch of pink and nice and strong. 5 star start! Then, it went downhill. I ordered the Wedge Salad ($9) and the Seared Scallops ($18), both under the "Starters, Small Plates" section. Both were very good, with excellent presentation. I should have realized the "Small Plates" would only provide a few scallops (3), but they were very well prepared and quite good. After I ordered and the food was provided, little customer service was given thereafter. I had to ask for water refills twice. (When I finally asked for my check, I got a refill without asking.) During this time, only one other customer was in the bar. The two bartenders were talking to another employee about a streaming finale one recently watched. Eventually, the second bartender came onto my side and I asked if I could order one more item from him since my bartender never came back. (The first bartender was Josh, which I discovered when I got the bill receipt.) The other bartender took my order for the Pot Roast Nachos (as I still somewhat hungry) and the Nachos were absolutely fantastic, just like the reviews recommended. At 8pm, I left as I was the only patron left in the bar (I wonder why?) and they were cleaning up even though closing was still an hour away. The bill for two cocktails and the food mentioned above came to $77. Then, $13 was added for Tennessee state/county tax and also liquor/wine tax!!! Was my meal and service worth $100, not really. As I left, I saw the personable Drew and she asked me how the evening went. I explained and she apologized that it did not meet my expectations. I said I just think I came on an off night. However, maybe she should tell management that if only one customer is left at the bar, you should treat them with the attention and respect as anyone who came in earlier. I don't feel I received the service I deserved for the price I paid so sadly, I can only provide a review based on this one time experience.
