The staff immediately made me feel welcome and even brought over a water bowl without being asked. As a professional lounge dog, I appreciated the hospitality. My humans enjoyed sampling several whiskeys while I worked hard supervising the tasting process from my blanket-covered seat at the bar. I've been to many distilleries but what I enjoyed most about Chattanooga Whiskey was their knowledge of their products and the service of their staff. Everyone here was knowledgeable. Our company, of about 10 of us, did the tour and tasting and our tour guide Jake was fantastic. We enjoyed learning about the history of the company and his humor throughout the tour. Also, he answered any curveball questions we threw at him. The staff at the bar walked us through the flight and were able to educate us on all of their products. This was an amazing experience! We were in town for a work event and unfortunately only had limited time to check this place out! They do offer a tour and tasting and tell you to plan around 1-1/2 hours totally. They start on the hour and we arrived to late to join a tour and due to time constraints could not wait until the next one. Luckily we were still able to do the tasting for $18 per person ( same price as the tour and tasting!) and absolutely worth it!! We had Keely as our guide through the tasting and she was amazing! There was another bartender as well, Kalani ( spelling?) and the two of them worked amazingly together making sure everyone sitting at the bar was taken care of. The tasting included 6 and they allow you additional as well so you can try others you didn't get or just get another of the ones you enjoyed. All were really good with that smooth whiskey burn that warms from the inside out well being full of flavors! We had a hard time picking out which bottle to buy since we enjoyed them all but finally settled on one and headed to our event. Absolutely put this on the list if you are in Chattanooga!! We absolutely loved this place-so much so that we went back the next day! One of the best parts was that Luna was allowed inside since they don't serve food, which made it especially pet-friendly. Steve did the whiskey tasting, which was a great value at $18 for a sampling of all their whiskeys. I love whiskey and decided to visit here because I saw on Yelp that they were dog friendly. I was actually unaware this whiskey existed prior to our visit to Chattanooga. This was our last place we visited in Chattanooga so we were open to trying some samples, which are offered. Upon entering, we were greeted immediately and our dog was the star of the show. The staff were so excited lol. The front area is where they sell merchandise, including the alcohol they produce. I browsed while my husband handled our dog and socialized with the staff. We were given several samples but my heart was set on the original whiskey. The bottles were pretty expensive, which always shocks me because you are purchasing from the source. The tour was brief with ok information. The flight of bourbon only had 2 good ones, and the rest were ok bourbons. Three people were a no show due to an emergency, so it was just me a tour of one and I have to say, I really enjoyed myself. The employees were super friendly, easy to talk to, made me feel welcome, and taught me a thing or two about whiskey. I tried chatt whiskey silver, chatt whiskey 91, chatt whiskey cas 111, and three distillers select. My favorite was the chatt whiskey silver, they were sold out, so I ended up getting a bottle of my second favorite, the chatt whiskey 91. He was very knowledgeable about the history and the bourbons making. At the bar for the tasting we had Billy, Tony and Trinity. They took care of us teaching us about all of the spirits. The whiskey they make is some of the smoothest around, and their taproom experience was a lot of fun! The amount of tasting you get, along with the tour experience is a great value! I was really disappointed by this place. They say they close at 9:00, we got there at 8:00, yet they would not allow us to drink at the bar. They said only the retail area was open. A group of our friends had gone in a bit earlier, and they were allowed to go to the bar but the employees were openly complaining about them coming in. I remember the last time we were in Chattanooga four years ago we had a similar experience where they kept telling us the bar wasn't open. I was not super impressed with the process. They are still working on significantly reduced capacity, which doesn't match up with how any other establishments in the area are running. You walk in and pay for your tasting - $14 per person for some very small samples. Then you have to wait back outside until "there is space" in the tasting room. Now there is plenty of space, but it seems like they only allow 4 or 5 people in the room at a time even though it can probably hold 5 times that many. You go inside, your tasting is sort of rushed. They present each one and then walk far away like you have the plague. No pleasant conversation or questions while you're sampling. They come back for the next and don't really even care if you're ready to move on or not. They're also not selling cocktails so you just drink these samples and then leave. It was a pretty mediocre experience compared with others in the area. I would personally skip it until they open back up fully and offer a better experience, including cocktail service. read more
