Sept 16/2024 I arrived at the restaurant and placed 2 orders to go. I was handed 2 bags. Paid and gave a tip. Drove 5 miles home...opened one bag and proceeded to share that meal with my husband. I bit onto a piece of round metal the size of a pea and beside it was a broken BIG piece of a dish! I drove back and told him first, we ordered chicken fajitas and shrimp enchiladas. We got all chicken. Secondly, I bit into this round metal piece the size of a pea and also this big piece of a plate was also in that same dish. His response was, "you took 2 orders"....I said...you handed them to me, it's NOT my fault! I want my money back. He proceeded to run the credit. Showed me on the screen and said...I don't know how long the credit will take. I left and then walked back in and asked for the credit receipt. He never once apologized. I was very calm and quiet. I did not create a scene. Then yesterday (day after the event) I decided to call and speak to the manager about my conversation with this employee. The man answered I recognized his voice. I asked to speak to the manager. He said he was the manager. I asked his name and he said his name was Adriane. So I said Adriane I'm calling to tell you that I was very disappointed in the way you responded to my complaint about the order being wrong and about the 2 items found in my food. Your first response was "you took 2 bags"....you never apologized. That was your main concern. You obviously didn't care about the foreign pieces found in our food. He told me that I was very rude to him the day before...and that I took over the conversation, just like I'm doing now...to him. I said, "Adriane I was not loud and rude that day. He said I was. I said this is obviously falling on deaf ears. He told me he went back to the cooks and talked to them. I said I don't need to hear what you did. He said because I had taken 2 orders he had to make another order. I said...thats on YOU! not me...I ordered 2 orders, you handed me 2 bags, YOU watched me walk out of the restaurant. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN...WE ARE DONE! read more

We stopped in here to grab a bite to eat , not much to choose from in Vivian for starters. Overall the service was lacking from the minute we walked in. Took 10 mins to get seated. 15mins before our waiter came to our table (but to his credit he was the best thing about the place) Our food arrived warm...but flavor wise it was lacking for us all. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas...which was literally grilled shrimp wrapped in a tortilla.... that's it Not a place we would choose to go again. For Mexican food, it doesn't get any better. The food is outstanding actually. It is nothing fancy, as Mexican food should be, simple and tasty. The quality of food is spot on and the prices are fair. Service is prompt and the wait staff is attentive. I've had the combination fajitas twice and the cheese enchiladas once. All were very good. The chips and salsa are THE best (In my Opinion) and their white Queso.. well, it simply doesn't get any better. Give this place a try. You'll be glad you did. read more

I ate lunch with two of my coworkers here which was on the side of a motel. It was somewhat busy when we got here around 12:30pm. We were seated promptly and our waiter was nice. I ordered Chavo's Burrito ($7.50). The chips and salsa were okay. Our food came out a few minutes later so we didn't fill up on chips and salsa. The Chavo's Burrito was pretty good and I had to use my knife and fork to eat it. The amount of food was just right to fill me up but not make me so full. Good food! read more

This is a very good small town Mexican restaurant located off Hwy 1 in Vivian. This restaurant is located on the blind side of the Country Inn Motel. You can't miss it! It's the purple and gold motel off the highway. Yeah, you read that right. Chavos is located inside the purple and gold motel off Highway 1, and it is very good and yummy. They offer a very cheap lunch for $5.95 plus tax, where you can choose 2 items (I chose the hard shell taco and a burrito-great!) each lunch comes with rice and beans, and of course chips and salsa. The only ding against this great little place in a little town, is that they only serve Pepsi products on tap, buuuut they do have Diet Dr. Pepper, so that saves it for me! Chavos is the best Mexican food in the Vivian/Oil City/Blanchard area! And it even bests some of the most popular Mexican restaurants in the Shreveport-Bossier City area! I'm serious! read more

We had vegetable fajitas which was cooked to perfection along with awesome flour tortillas, and a 3 beef taco plate. The meat was tasty and the taco crispy to perfection. The refried beans and rice was above par. Chips and Salsa were bomb. From California and experience eating lots of Mexican food, this place deserves a return visit. read more

Chavos never fails to please me! I absolutely loveeeeeeeeeeee the food. Its amazing that its that good. You wouldn't think it would be as good as it is because of its location but it's amazing. I live over in Texas and eat alot of Mexican food. This is your run of the mill sysco style pre-made Mexican food. The salsa is served warm and makes the chips soggy. Now do NOT get me wrong. The food is ok to good. I have been there three times and it taste the same every time. Like I said it is all typical food service pre-made food and what I expect for this price range. The building is old and run down just like the hotel but the owner of Chavos has done a great job cleaning this place up. Have eaten there several times, always delicious. Went for dinner last night, horrible. Ordered my usual, chicken chimichanga, received a burrito. Three servers later, with the open menu in hand, they argued I had what I ordered even though nothing on plate matched menu description!
