I was thoroughly curious about so many positive reviews about the xicano cheesesteak that we went for a drive to experience this. We arrive just after they opened and were greeted by the gentleman in the truck. The truck itself looked great with no observed issues. Behind the truck there are multiple seating options available and nice plants for atmosphere. We received our food and headed home. Absolutely AMAZING!! The asada was seasoned great, the veggies were crisp, the bread was soft and the cheese was great! There was a hint of spice that added to the depth of flavors but not overpowering. I wish I read the reviews before visiting as I enjoyed the Hot Oli sandwich, but wasn't wowed by it. It looks like the raving reviews are mainly for the Xicano Cheesesteak (carne asada.) The gal taking orders (owner's daughter?) was very friendly. I look forward to returning. read more

Alright. Tucked away in a CUTE alley is this little food truck. It was a quiet Saturday, and it sits by itself between some cute shops. We had NO idea what we were in for but WOW. Visit Chayo! They're lovely people who give you want you want: unique, high quality food, at a reasonable price. The Xicano Cheesesteak is my fave. It's a well-crafted twist on a Philly Cheesesteak that's at least as good as the original. The bread is perfect, plenty of meat and cheese, and loads of flavor from the other ingredients. The Oli sandwich was a little less impressive, but still delicious. I enjoyed how the subtle pineapple took it to a new place, with the sauces and caramelized onion. I preferred the Sonoran dog over the Ay Chihuahua dog. The former was loaded, flavorful, and visually enticing. If the latter had bacon on it, I didn't see it (maybe the bacon was chopped up with the beef, sprinkled on the dog?), and the bun was barely full, though it was still flavorful, savory, and unique enough to try. I really liked the Gringas, which I tried with both flour and corn tortillas. I had the mixto (carne asada and veggies) in flour tortillas and the veggie in corn (they split it into two for me, which I appreciated!). The core ingredients are wrapped in cheese and fried, then topped with condiments. Fried cheese, always for the win! I still need to try the chicken "tinga," but my faves so far are the Xicano Cheesesteak and the Sonoran dog. read more

This place is excellent - I've come here a few times now and I'm always impressed. Today I ordered the Xicano Cheesesteak and it blew my mind! Carne asada, tons of cheese, poblanos, onions and green peppers made for an amazing combination of flavors, but the addition of the avocado salsa and roasted tomato salsa sends it over the edge. This new cart is just what we needed! It opened at the end of the pandemic and it felt like the clouds parted the same day. We've been several times now and have tried everything.
