This is a non hipster, no nonsense type coffee shop. They're not serving weird artisanal concoctions. It's straight up delicious coffee. I got a French press and I sat down to do some work and it was brought to me. If you check in, you get 10% off of 1lb of coffee beans to go, ground or whole bean. I got some coffee to go and I've been grinding it up at home and brewing it. It's honestly such smooth and delicious coffee. The folks here are so sweet and so willing to help you pick something out. There are a handful of seats with little tables and I would definitely enjoy sitting inside to smell amazing coffee.

The new location is really nice. I love the natural light and open space. I had a yummy Turkish coffee which was a great recommendation by the delightful crew! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. You're able to choose from a wide variety of beans. My coffee knowledge isn't that high so I'm glad they were there to offer a good choice. I will be returning soon.

I'm so excited to have Chazzano here in Berkley. The staff is friendly, the location is prime, and you can customize your bean for your coffee drinks, which is fun. The ONLY thing I can't figure out is their hours, 10-4pm Monday-Friday. I know these were the hours at their old location but I HATE to see businesses lose money. Being so close to Beaumont, the hospital staff NEEDS their coffee and why not keep it out of the hands of big named coffee shops? I know I personally like to drink my coffee way before 10am. Just my observation. Still won't affect my decision to go when I can within these hours! Not a lot of seating in the new location. Maybe 4 two-seater high top tables and that's it.

Best espresso around. Single origin beans roasted to perfection. The antithesis of Starbucks which I think is a good thing.

Ask the Community - Chazzano Coffee

    Any Organic whole bean options?

Most of Chazzano's coffees are organic and fair trade. Lots of choices. All available beans can be bought whole bean or ground to your specifications.

I just purchased the whole bean Sumatra Mandheling coffee. I'm wondering how much coffee to use for a 12 cup coffee maker (Cuisinart SS-15)?…

It's mainly by your taste preferences, but my basic rule is 1 scoop for each cup. However, you can use less fresh roasted Chazzano coffee by putting about 6-7 scoops and wetting the grounds in the brew basket thoroughly before you begin the brewing… Read more

Was there in early June and the coffee and service were both good, as was the savory pastry I got. The main issue with this place is the noise... not for the usual reason in coffeeshops where they play music too loud, but it's a raucous and busy place, which speaks well of the business. But far worse than noisy conversation there's this bell on both the front and back entrances that plays a little five note electric tune every time someone comes in or leaves... Why is it there? Why is it needed? The fact that only a few people have noted it here perhaps speaks more of our noise-polluted lives than anything else, but it's maddening as this thing goes off literally every minute or more, constant, tintinnabulations of the bell, bell, bell, bell, bell... There was an employee taking a break on his phone listening to YouTube videos out loud, too... I guess we're all just so used to this now. So if you want a quiet cafe to get work done, this ain't it. Maybe it's more of a Central Perk scene, with people meeting socially, all who liked the place before it became cool.

A bit of background on my obsession on coffee, I am not an individual that drinks a cup of joe with 500 syrups and 80 cups of milk and say "this is the best coffee EVER!" If it's my first time getting coffee from a coffee shop, I will get a plain black coffee. Therefore, I ordered black iced coffee, which had a good balance in flavors. As for a second coffee, I ordered the Iced Cafe Miel Latte with oat milk. This drink was very good and there was an even ratio between coffee and milk, not too sweet too. Originally, I wanted to grab my coffee and sit inside the coffee shop (from the view outside, the shop looked pretty and modern) but there was no parking spots and the parking lot is beyond small but I did see folks park in the establishment next door and walk over. The drive thru is narrow but the wait time was a bit long and the person at the drive thru didn't seem enthusiastic. Overall, I did enjoy the coffee but I do not see the hype. It basic coffee, nothing that stands out from the rest. I must say the coffee was a bit overpriced, it did not match the quantity. Would I recommend this place to others? I would, only if you're in the area. I wouldn't drive out of my way (20 min) to grab a coffee from this spot.
