I really can't believe I haven't checked in or reviewed this place yet... I've been coming to this Check City location for over 2 years now. I have a Netspend card, which is a prepaid debit/credit card. I come here all the time to load the card so I can pay my bills, order my bf beard oil, buy concert tickets, etc. I also just found out that money orders are FREE here. How amazing is that?! The staff is always very friendly, and the place is clean. I love that they are open 24/7. My only complaints are: 1. Miscommunication and information. I was given two different stories on getting a "refund" on a money order I'd purchased earlier in the day...it ended up not being a big deal, but having consistent information is vital to good customer service. 2. Their parking lot SUCKS. I tried to stop in yesterday, and had absolutely NO WHERE to park. I know its not really their fault, and I'm sure that some of the spots were taken by people visiting the bar that's in the same shopping center, but...ugh. I really do like this location though, and come here often. read more

So I frequent this location once a month for my free money order to pay my rent. Why go anywhere else and pay for a money order when I can come here and get a free one. Mind you, if you need an envelope they will charge you a small fee of $0.10. I find that quite funny. I never have to wait in line long. If all their employees are busy helping others, someone is always walking up to one of the windows to assist their customers. They are fast and speedy. read more

I come in to take out a loan and when the rep asked me to verbalize my bank account information I asked her why because this has never been asked before. I've been using check city for YEARS! Her response "BECAUSE I NEED TO VERIFY YOUR INFORMATION " and I AM NEW. This place has the absolute worst customer service. Everytime i go there it is an issue. Sometimes they decide my check is not a payroll check, even though it is a payroll check and instead of charging me 2% or whatever they charge me 5%...other times they just charge me the 2%. Why is there 2 different prices for company checks. If you work or perform a service for a company, 1099 or as an employee and that company pays you, that is a payroll check. It shouldn't depend on the mood of the cashier, just because they are mad that day and want to prove a point. Secondly, shift change should be easy, you have 3 employees a manager and 2 cashiers....instead of making your CUSTOMERS wait for 15 minutes and watching 2 cashiers counting huge piles of cash (which is dangerous in and of itself, someone call their insurance company) right in plain view. How about have 2 drawers, the oncoming cashier counts their drawer in the back with the manager (which isn't usually doing anything anyways) while the other cashier assists the customers....then when the shift change the out giong cashier takes their drawer and they and the manager count down that drawer, out of sight of everyone. No customers have to wait, and watch, the drawers get counted down by 2 people, and i'm not on yelp complaining because i waited almost 20 minutes before an employee acknowledged or tried to help. read more

I have done business with Check City for the past ten years. Always in good standing with them. Lucky for me, I haven't needed them for the past four years, until today when I stopped in for a payday advance in the amount of $50 until tomorrow, payday. After sitting there waiting for nearly an hour, I was informed, that Check City was no longer interested in doing business with me. I obviously asked why, and was told "we don't know". The staff was friendly and somewhat helpful but they have no reason to deny me a small loan when I have a perfect record with them for many years. Please save your time and money, and if you absolutely must get a payday advance where you will pay 500% interest, go someplace other than Check City. read more

24hours, short term loans, check cashing and yes people still cash checks. If you need a small amount the prices are not crazy like the APR would suggest. If you took $50.00 for 7 days its roughly $4.50. Bring a friend and you'd get a 20.00 referral credit it they get approved for a loan too. read more

Check City will not work with you if your unable to pay on the due date, not for one day, there's other lenders who will, but not this one, maybe its because they operate in too many different states and are unable to apply the laws for each one. Just beware, they will triple there fees if you bonce a payment. read more

This review is to clear up a bad review that I had posted about Check City on Nellis in Las Vegas. I had sent my brother Western Union on his Birthday and provided a test question and answer because his identification had expired. He called me and told me that Check City was not able to give him the cash without his i.d. and so I called Western Union and asked if they could add a test question and answer to pick up the money. They said "yes" and that it was up to the merchant to decide whether or not an identification would be required. My brother was told that the computer wasn't processing the Western Union transaction without the identification, but I assumed it was Check City who refused to allow him to pick it up without i.d. so I was mad at the employee's in Check City, but I was wrong! They did everything possible to help him and get him his money. Today, I found out that Western Union had put a hold on picking up the money! My sincere apologies to Check City for my bad review and to the employee's who work there who assisted my brother. Thanks Jackie the Manager for following up with me.
