Update: I read the negatives on Yelp for this MM and they appear to be posted by young folks who expect services to be free, or who expect immediate cash when they walk into a building, which is just unrealistic. Instead of going into another 6 month agreement with an insurance I wasn't happy with. He found me a different policy saving me 75$ a month. It was a great experience all around :). I have had several agents after my original agent unfortunately passed away from cancer. When my husband and I got married we just switched everything to his SF agent and she as useless. I finally had it so I switched to someone in Lodi but then she just all of a sudden disappear so we were then moved to someone else. So I finally decided to switch to someone closer. I read a lot of good reviews about Rachelle and figured she would be a good fit. But I honestly didn't expect the level of service her office provides. My husband and I have both been State Farm clients since we could drive. We had numerous car, life, homeowners, umbrella polices, etc. Since my original agent, I had never had much of an in-person conversation with any of them. My husband had never had any. But when we switched to Rachelle she wanted to sit down with us and go over every one of our policies. Both of us were working M-F at that time and Rachelle was gracious enough to schedule an appointment with us on a Saturday. We proceeded to spend the next 3 hours going through every line of every policy we had. She pointed out things that we were double or triple covered on and made suggestions of other areas to increase. After all was said and done we were going to be saving money, however I decided to lower our deductibles to $0 on our cars and ended up walking out the door paying the same amount but with more coverage. Rachelle is great and I highly recommend her if you're in the market for a new agent and/or insurance. PS- in regards to State Farm in general, it may not be the cheapest, but I have to say with both my experiences of having to file claims as well as my husband when his house was robbed, you get what you pay for. State Farm has made everything super easy and we've never had any issues. Ive had friends with the insurance that claims "accident forgiveness" only to have their rates skyrocketed after a gust of wind caused her door to open into someone else, she finally switched insurance after my urging and is now a State Farm customer. I have another handful of horror stories but I'll leave it at that. Maybe, you'll pay more but State Farm really will take care of you.

I sent money to my son in the Philippines for years, and now that he's here in the U.S. it's still easy to send to his overseas checking account. I have been able to learn far more about different car and home insurance options from her than any other agent. And I have had quotes and insurance from several name brand companies and smaller companies too. What I have learned about purchasing car and home insurance is: 1. Get to know your insurance agent as much as possible as a human being - not an insurance robot. You will find that they have a wealth of knowledge and information they are willing to share if you just take the time to treat them with decency. Unlike a few agents I have meet with, Pam has been great to get to know. Don't get me wrong, she is SUPER busy with family and clients. So, I suggest a tactful approach - she loves sports and sweets! 2. Value the agent who is willing to value you. By this I mean the agent should go above and beyond the norm of gathering your info and spitting out a quote. Any agent is capable of doing that. Your agent should empower YOU with knowledge and information about your situation or upcoming news that may affect your living situation such as explaining and informing you on earthquake or flood insurance. Those are 2 very tricky subjects. However, Pam informed me on both subjects and took me through a few scenarios if either tragedy ever occurred. 3. Lastly, your agent should be active and positive in the community. This is huge because it's a form of checks and balances. As well, It is an indicator on how motivated your agent is to be the best in everyone's eyes. Whether they succeed or mess up, you will know about it. Pam is very active in the community and a very positive person. I would highly recommend considering Pam on your list of people to talk to concerning your insurance situation. She has been great to me and I know she will treat you the same.
