When I went to pick up online order at the Bolingbrook Checkers tonight, I experienced one the stupidest business policies I have seen in my many years on this earth. I paid for and scheduled an online order to be ready about 9pm. I think it is fair to say that most people would place an online order so the order will be ready when requested, and also save time by pickingit up quickly. at the drive thru window. Whwn I got to the speaker, I was told by the person who claimed to be a manager, that my order was ready, BUT I WOULD HAVE PARK MY CAR, GET OUT, AND ACTUALLY GO INSIDE TO PICK IT UP! I thought that this was unbelievable, so I asked again for clarification, and was told the same thing. The person said that because someone had been claiming that their order was not picked up, when it apparently was, the general manager was requiring on line order customers to actually get out of their car, and be seen on a camera inside the restaurant, before they could receive their already ordered and paid for order.! Unbelievable! I will be contacting higher up in Checkers to address this situation.! I finally talked the person into giving me my food, when I told them that they were also likely in violation of the American With Disabilities Act, by requiring people who had handicapped placards, to come inside as well, which is what I was first told at the speaker. if they asked me, I could easily provide several much better options for them, to solve their issue. The first solution would be a simple one, just put a camera on the drive thru window where someone is picking up their food. Simple to do. I could also provise them with at least 2 or 3 other better options, without spending a lot of time thinking about it. This has to be the worst business ever. It was around 12:45 am and I placed an order online. My fiancé went to pick up the order at the time specified on the confirmation receipt and had to wait almost 30 additional minutes before the order was actually ready. (They told him the reason for the extended wait was because they had to make everything fresh.) When the order was finally handed over to him, he specifically asked if everything was in the bag and was reassured that, "Everything you ordered is in there." He got home and opened the bag and found out that the mozzarella sticks were missing and the LARGE drink for the LARGE combo I ordered and paid for was also forgotten. In addition, the alleged "freshly made fires" were ice cold. After calling the restaurant to notify them of the mistakes they made, he was told to come back and they would replace the fries and give him the LARGE drink and mozzarella sticks on the order. He went back and finally received the mozzarella sticks. However, he was only given one large fry and a regular sized drink. It was during this encounter that he got to experience the unprofessionalism displayed by an employee named Alexis.He asked if the drink she had given him was the correct size (because I always order a large) and he was told that it was. Assuming this place wouldn't mess up a second time, he took the regular sized drink that he was given, thinking I probably forgot to order a large. After handing him what turned out to be the incorrect items yet again, Alexis was sarcastic and rude and told him he could come in on Monday and talk to the general manager if he had a problem. I decided to go back to obtain the other missing fry and the LARGE drink that I had ordered. After all of this, I finally received everything that I had ordered over an hour prior. Mind you, I really do not have high expectations for any late night fast food restaurant; and taking the time to write this review this early in the morning shows just how frustrating it was for us to experience the level of incompetence we were forced to endure when simply trying to get the food I ordered. read more

Was here last night for dinner. Ordered a chicken sandwich and a chicken bites box. Both came with fries. My chicken sandwich was ok. Nothing special. The chicken bites were not very good, they were extremely tough and hard. It had been a very long time since we had been here because we don't have one close. We were in the area and decided to give them a try. Service was fast, our order was accurate. I'd go back for the fries! Those fries are soo good. Checkers so far I have found it to have good daytime service and tasty French fries, but lacking in about everything else. My wife ordered us lunch for pickup, and the order was ready and correct when I picked it up. That was good. The French fries were tasty as the other reviewers have said. That was also good. The burgers were mediocre at best, lacking flavor in the meat, and in my case, minimal condiments. This was not good. The chicken tenders and Monsterella sticks were okay, passable. This was okay, I guess. However, calling these cheese sticks Monsterella sticks is kind of a disappointing misnomer. The drinks were good. The strawberry soda had a pleasant strawberry aroma. I've gone to this location twice now and had similar experiences. The first time we went through the drive thru, an employee said hello through the speaker. We ordered our food through the speaker and no one replied. There was no one in line. We finally drove up to the window after being ignored and sat in our car waiting patiently while two employees were talking and not approaching the window. We ended up driving away since it was clear that we weren't going to be receiving any service. The second time we tried the drive thru again. No one was in line. We waited more than 5 minutes and finally someone addressed us. The first thing the employee says through the speaker is, "Come to the window." We figured they wanted us to place our order at the window since no one was in line. Then we waited at the window for almost 10 minutes as two employees continued having a conversation. I went to pick up a delivery order for Uber eats and I have never been disappointed by the unprofessionalism that I observed. Two guys who were making the food weren't wearing mask. I'm not sure if that was their first day but they seemed uninterested or confused. One of the guys was even rude to the cashier who was struggling to serve customers, saying they should lock the door so customers don't come in and stand by the counter because he didn't like anyone standing by the counter. Whoever owns this place should get the cashier lady some good help not what I witnessed tonight. She had to repack and seal the bags because they were not doing it properly, she was so frustrated I truly felt sorry for her. *Save yourself the frustration I would not recommend this place to anyone. Owner will take you money and treat you like liar if your order is incorrect. Horrible experience with employees and owner of franchise. I ordered food from the drive thru at this location only to reach home and have my order be incorrect. I called the restaurant informing them the order was incorrect, the manager on shift then gave me her name and said I would be compensated with the correct item on my next visit. When I went back to the restaurant a couple days later for the replacement I was told rudely by management there was no record of my order being incorrect, they said previous management on shift left no information so I would need to come back during her next shift. I did try showing them a copy of my receipt since I forgot the original at home. They stated per policy they would need the original receipt. I asked for the management name so that when I came back I could reference who I last spoke to. They gave me a copy of my receipt for another order I made and wrote their names. After leaving the drive thru I look at the receipt and realize the place is basically mocking me at this point. They give me a receipt with fake names not realizing the original receipt I received the same night had their correct name which is Nii. So irritated I write a review about my experience which I rarely do. The next day management from that stores calls me saying they can replace the order finally. At this point I could care less about the food. What really bothered me was how the managers where treating customers. The manager who called then informed me the rude employee in the drive thru was actually the owner of the franchise so there would be no repercussions. The caller also stated that they did nothing wrong by giving me fake names. I then proceed to say if they are not required to give their names why would the owner of the company not just say that when I asked! While on the phone with that store I was also informed the original manager who I spoke to the first time no longer worked. So that means the owner was trying to refer me to a manager who no longer existed in their system. This location was a horrible Brown's Chicken at one time so the news of a Checkers moving in was welcome since we are right around the corner. Service is friendly and complying but unorganized. I think the disaster of a drive-thru is an alien type thing to this fairly new staff. Three times we had to return food that was not prepared as ordered. It's nice to have one of these close by when you're hungry late at night. It's even better when you have a location like this one that has large indoor seating and sizeable restrooms. Even my favorite restaurant Five Guys has trouble competing.
