Stopped for a quick lunch . The chop salad my fave always delicious...I had the plant based hotdog... I haven't had a hot dog well since I stopped eating beef and pork... Honestly after you put all your trimmings on you wouldn't even have known it was plant base..... It's so nice seeing alternative meat products for those who don't eat meat.... I would love to see an impossible Burger on your menu.... Portillo's has The fastest service ,they have it down packed to a T... I love the Bolingbrook location with the '50s and '60s theme, very nostalgic......

Ordered the chili cheese dog (no onions) and it just lacked flavor. The drive-thru lines are long but the employees keep it moving quickly.

I will always love Portillo's, I love their menu and they keep the place clean. Their service was efficient and not lacking in any way. I always get the Cheeseburger which tastes great. Also, I will never get bored of the interior of the place!!

Used to live here so I'm very familiar with Portillo's. Went for a Saturday lunch. They were packed. It was loud in there. Gal taking my order talked much too softly for me to hear her. I just wanted a simple dog with mustard, grilled onions, sport peppers, giadanaria (however that's spelled). Gosh that was surprisingly difficult! Food was fine. I knew what was to be expected in that department. All in all, it was okay.

This isn't a full review of the restaurant, though it is pointing out how there is now a screen that shows when your order is ready. Gone are the days when you and someone else both reach for the same bag -- or at least it happens less often.

Yay for Portillo's! I'm not from the Chicagoland area. When I visited earlier this year, they didn't have plant based hot dogs yet. This time in November of 2022, I was fortunate to try the veggie dogs. They are packed with pea protein and seasoned with cracked pepper, garlic and paprika. The veggie dogs are char-grilled just like the regular hot dogs. Love the Chicago style veggie dogs! (See the photo.) My husband has had the regular hot dogs in the past that he thought were OK. He likes the beef sandwiches much better. Fries are A-OK. I like the vibe here. The dining area is bustling with families, couples, groups of friends, etc. So far, cashiers have been kind and efficient. The staff that places the orders on the counter shouts out numbers with a rhyme like: Number 1 you're order's done! Number 2 food's waiting for you! Number 3 come see me! Number 4 food's out the door! I've been to another location closer to the O'Hare Airport many years ago and remember the famous chocolate shake. It's like a chocolate milkshake made from their actual chocolate cake. It's quite decadent! In my neck of the woods, the closest Portillo's is in Buena Park, CA. Perhaps I will pay them a visit in the future!

Got a jumbo dog and combo beef and sausage with hot peppers. I went during an off peak time so I got my food fast. Everything was delicious and the young employees were cheerful and nice. Love Portillo's. Best place for Chicago dogs and Italian beefs imo.

    They even have sweet tea!

First of all, the service is excellent. The young man that took our order, his name was Miles, he was very pleasant and efficient. It did take a little bit longer for our food than we expected but we were OK standing and watching the process of all of the workers actually paying attention to what they were doing and doing it efficiently. Anytime we saw any interaction it was pleasant. We asked for extra condiments and got them without a problem. Then we sat and ate some really good cheeseburgers and fries. Very happy with the service and food.

You go to Portillo's for one or two items, I have to have the Italian Beef. I went with Italian Beef with gravy. On the side I went with cheese fried. It was exactly what I wanted. Mid-week it was pretty empty but Friday night it was busy. Serve Ice was still really fast and didn't realize my to go order was really almost immediately. Staff was friendly and store looks clean. It is a must stop and time I am in the area.

Been coming here since I was a kid. To this day I don't believe I have ever had anything outside from hotdogs. I'm coming from NY so ALL I care about it the Chicago style hotdogs. I want my pickle and my lil jalapeño even though I don't eat it. Idk why the relish looks like glitter but onion me down too. Ketchup and mustard and a freaking CHOCOLATE SHAKE. Just thinking about it has me wanting to drive back. My kids got the same as me and my dad got two chili dogs no cheese- (I would have gotten the cheese) but I was on my way to the pool and ate light. They had some other sweet cake milkshake I thought I would return before driving back to New York or at least bring some beef home. But nope. We ate out in the patio this place was clean and from what I saw well managed. I didn't see a manager per say but everything was in order and I like that. I like the old school decor on the inside.

Vibes, 5/5. Chocolate cake shake that I've heard SUCH good things about, 3/5. Too cakey lol. I don't like chewing a milkshake. Would've rather tried a malt! Though the price for a LARGE shake was very respectable.

A serviceable pepper and egg sandwich, but hardly the best in the area.
    Jason Y.

I mean Portillo's is Portillos. It's kind of hard to go wrong...unless you're getting the pepper and egg. It's edible. The eggs have decent flavor...but the couple of stepped on peppers and the "eggs are really expensive!" portion of eggs made for a pretty underwhelming sandwich. The bread was fresh and service was quick.

Chicago style hot dog ($3.25), cheese fries ($3.75), and beef-n-cheddar croissant w/hot peppers ($7)

I had Buddha bowl last week, healthy (only 2 falafel in it tho, but it's still good) Veg Chorizo tacos (or the wrap) 10/10 I also had the deserts which was like a cake or brownie. 10/10 I can continue the list but overall this place AMAZING. Also they have a rewards system so you come back, you get deals and $ off. Sadly, if you don't like avocados, might not be for you. (I have a friend... oof) also free fruit water, and they have I think avocado flavor coffee? And smoothies/lemonades. There is Naperville, and tinley locations and I like both, tinley has more seating (big family 4+) while Naperville is more casual 4 people chill. Service is friendly and chill. Even when it's late at night, like 9pm they treat you like a customer and not a "omg why you coming in late I'm mopping the floor..." kinda way. They really do treat guest well. my bad for coming in late sorry... I was hungry! Love this place!

I was able to try avocado cheesecake and avocado brownie both was very delicious. They put them in bowls that look like they were made of avocado leaves. Neat. I had one of their sampler which included avocado deviled eggs, avocado egg rolls, avocado fries, and avocado tomato bruschetta. All I can say is it was very yummy. Along with their avocado colada I ended up being very full. I also ordered a avocado Buddha bowl and avocado strawberry banana smoothie. Which I ended up bringing home because I was just too full. I tried a few sips of their watermelon cucumber juice drink. It was delicious but not my favorite. Yet I've come to understand I'm just not a fan of watermelon juice yet I like watermelon. This place is located in downtown Naperville. I'll update once I try the other things that I brought home. Avocado banana strawberry smoothies. Yummmy The Buddha bowl was good. I loved the avocado dressing just needed more of it. Some pieces were A bit spicy to me. Yet, my daughter stated it was not even a bit spicy. I have a lower than low spice tolerance. Overall I enjoyed this avocado concept restaurant and I will return. Also I enjoyed how the place was decorated. It had abocado facts. And lovely avocado king mural on the wall. Having the free infused water tanks available while you wait (even for pick ups ). added to the warmth of the place.

If I am meeting friends, I'm suggesting Blackberry market 10/10 times. But if I need to get food I find myself struggling to justify ordering here. Honest Gluten free review: they do offer gluten free options which is great, but to get a basic breakfast sandwich it's at least $13.50 without any additions or sides, and to get a gluten free bun you must order a full sandwich. So once I customize with cheeses or aioli (because gf bread always needs a little something something) the sandwich and fruit salad side was $16 + the coffee it's close to $24 and that's just more than I'm willing to spend for a tiny breakfast sandwich. Gluten free folks know the struggle but it doesn't make it any less frustrating. They do offer oatmeal that is gluten free and delicious but I wish they had more cohesive gluten free options and comparable prices. Now with all that said, do I come here at least once a week for a seasonal latte and a pint of the most delicious chicken salad? Yes, yes I do.

We made a reservation, too. Kindred is a unique place in that it's in a strip mall and you enter part of the mall to get to the front entrance of Kindred. We walked in and there was nobody at the front desk but a sign that said Seat Yourself. We walk into the bar (b/c that was all we saw) and the bartender gives us the option of a table in the corner or a table right next to the bathroom. We noticed tables right by the window that were open, but those apparently weren't available. We took the corner. We sat and a waitress brought us menus. I asked about the Restaurant Week. She said she knew it was going on, but didn't know what the options were. She was very nice about it, but I had to prod her to find a menu for it. She came back a few minutes later for our drink order and I asked again for the Restaurant Week menu and she again alluded to not knowing what it was. I dropped it but if your restaurant is offering it - your staff should know what is on it and should promote it. Drinks...I ordered a martini - my husband said "diet coke or coke zero." She said - we don't have that. He then said "diet pepsi". She said - they have RC Cola Zero. My husband and I look at each other and we're like "ugh.". Only having RC as your pop of choice is an indicator to us of cheapness/not great food. Skip ahead - another couple comes into the bar at that point and the bartender offers the couple the table by the bathroom. The couple pointed to the tables by the window and I think the bartender said they were reserved. The couple said they had a reservation tonight. I couldn't catch the rest, but they ending up sitting at the table by the restroom. Very confusing. Then - it all made sense - a family of 5 came into the bar...(b/c still no person at the front desk and the seat yourself sign) - said they had a reservation and all of a sudden, someone appears and seats them in a completely different room. Apparently - there is a dining room that we all should have been sitting in. But - having no person at the front desk, a sign that says seat yourself, having an entrance in a strip mall side, and the bartender not explaining anything - was a problem. Skip ahead. Food - we got fried pickles (which were extremely salty) , STK Wrap (just okay), and Garlic Chicken bowl (little garlic). Nothing outstanding and nothing that would warrant us coming back.
