I hired this service to have the cleaning of my house done after it was sold to the new owner. After setting an appointment with them, I was told by Zoe, whose one of the reps with this service that a hold would be placed on my card and would drop off after the service was completed. I'll get back to that part in a minute. So, they offered to clean my house for either 3 or 6 hours for the same rate. I told them I wanted a 3 hour cleaning because I needed to hand over the keys to the house to the new owner the same day I wanted the cleaning to be done. Zoe said no problem. Everything was set for two cleaners to start at 10am for 3 hours of cleaning. I was meeting with the new owner at 5pm. So the job would be done well before then and give me enough time to take photos and conduct a final walk thru with the new owner. The next morning, 30 mins before cleaning was scheduled, I got a call from Zoe saying that one of the two cleaners cancelled. So they only had one which meant the cleaning would take longer than 3 hours. However I was also told that they could get another cleaner but it wouldn't be until noon, and the cleaner would have to go drive to PICK UP the other cleaner to bring to my house to do the job because they didn't have a car. Red flag #1. The 1st cleaner came on time and we talked about the cancellation of the other cleaner. She was aware of my schedule that day and she said that she knew of someone who could pitch in at the last minute. After an hour or so of cleaning, she left to pick up the back up cleaner who was..... her sister. Red Flag #2. So they both arrived at the house roughly at noon. They both started working and I left the house to run last minute errands towards the key hand over to the new owner. I arrived at 2:30pm, and a third young lady was at my house. When I asked who she was, she said she was a cleaner helping with the job. I didn't know a third cleaner was going to be sent and got concerned that I was going to be charged extra. However the 1st cleaner said that she was brought in knowing that time was short and she couldn't get the job done in time without more hands. So to put it plainly, she personally called in for extra help herself. The agency had nothing to do with bringing in the third cleaner; who by the way, told me that it was her first day on the job. WAT??? Red Flag #3. At 4:30pm, none of the floor mopping or baseboard cleaning was done because i asked the cleaners to disregard those tasks because it was getting late and the new owner was coming to pick up the keys in 30 mins. So I told them to wrap up the job and go home. Mind you -- I had no issues with the cleaners. They were all very nice young ladies. But the service was over promised by Checklist and it ended up being half done. Now, back to that hold on my card. Two days later, I noticed that my card was charged twice for the same service. Assuming it had something to do with the initial hold, I called checklist and I was told that for some reason the hold didn't drop off and I was charged twice. The woman I spoke to said she would alert her manger and that the charge should be returned to me in 7-10 business days. So you heard that right. The hold was a CHARGE. And on the day of the cleaning, I was charged AGAIN. I ended up filing dispute with my bank which is the first time in my adult life I ever had to do something like that. Checklist Maids are inefficient and need to seriously work on their administrative services before they can offer professional services to the public. In short; do better. read more

This is the second time I have hired Checklist Maids. The first time was in October for a deep cleaning of an apartment that my mom moved in to. This time, the laundry room in the building needed a deep cleaning. As I said in my first review, the amazing staff members of Checklist Maids are not only professional--they are perfectionists! Precious came for the job again and as she was greeting us, she began to take a broom to a pipe overhead to shake loose all the dust on it! She literally cleaned the room from top to bottom and, needless to say, it sparkled when she was done! I had a great experience with Precious from Checklist maids. She was right on time, friendly and courteous, and easy to chat with. And very competent at her job. I was honestly not expecting much from a couple of areas with stubborn stains and was quite impressed with the final result. Precious managed to clean out some of these very stubborn stains.
