The restaurant was busy for sure, so we decided to get it to go. We had two separate orders: one for a salad and one for a bowl of soup. The server told us it should be very quick because our orders were easy. The salad took 25 minutes and the server was like "I'll go check on your soup." She leaves for about 5 minutes and returns with another server, and starts digging through the to-go area's garbage. She hands the new girl a receipt from the garbage and says "she will be right back." About 2-3 minutes later the second girl returns with the soup. read more

Decent food, horrible service. While coming to town to visit my mother and sister, we decided to have lunch here. When we walked in we were ignored by the hostess who continued her conversation with a co worker. After a couple of minutes she greeted us and took us to our table. A few moments later, our waiter took our drink order then returned with the beverages. We placed our order and received our food shortly thereafter. The Dijon Chicken I ordered were flavored nicely, but the chicken was o my warm and was tough and dry, apparently cooked ahead of time and held for too long on the line. The rest of my family enjoyed their meals. We then waited for our waiter to drop the check, and waited and waited some more, never seeing him again. We asked the waitress in the station next to ours to ask our waiter for the check. She said after she took care of her table, she would look for him. 10 minutes later, after not seeing him still, we asked the hostess if she could find a check for us. She had another waiter drop the check and we paid and left. Service here definitely needs improvement. Since my sister only had an hour for lunch, she was late returning to work. I won't be back. Normally good food and good, timely service. This time was BEYOND terrible. We were sat at 930 and it was 955 before the first drink even came to our table (including water which was requested twice but never showed). Cheap food, large portions. Very tasty. I had the steak and ribs combo with a baked potato and broccoli and cheese casserole. The casserole and potato were delicious. The steak was average and the ribs were a tad bit on the dry side but still had a very good taste to them. My wife the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. It came with two very large chicken breast. A very good value and tasty. Her only complaint was not enough gravy given. The server quickly brought some more upon request. We have been going to Cheddar's and have always had excellent service and food. We have been going at least one a week since we moved to Beaumont 2 yrs ago. But today the visit was really disappointing. We have always ordered a dinner position and are allowed 2 side orders. So when I ordered double Onion rings for the side which I have been getting every time I have ate here. Was told they no longer do that. Will they just lost a loyal customer now! The food here is pretty affordable and tasty. Service is not so bad, but it's a hit and miss. I recommend the spinach dip and fish tacos! Last time I had the salmon, and it was delicious as well. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I was here on a Tuesday night, and was seated at a table that was being cleared (no prob), but no one came back to FINSISH clearing it. So I sat alone, with no menu, no drink, and a dirty table for about the first 10 minutes. When the waiter stopped by all I ordered was a bowl of soup (was feeling a bit under the weather so wanted to keep it light). I sat in the bar, and bc it was almost 8 pm on a Tuesday night, thought this would be the best option for getting out of there quickly. WRONG! After a half hour...nothing. I asked the waiter what was taking so long since it seemed a bowl of sout was easy to prepare, and that 30 mins seemed excessive. He agreed, but did not offer to do anything about it. To his credit, he asked if I wanted to speak to the Manager, which I did. Though THAT took another 5 minutes our of my life that along that I will never get back. The Mgr was about 18 years old and did not apologize. When I told him it was my first (and now last time there), all he could say was "wow." That's it! That's all he said! I told him it would be nice if he could try and fix the situation, and he said I didn't let him speak. He finally went to bring me soup to go. Cheddar is a great place to go if you're looking for a large amount of great food at excellent prices. I have enjoyed almost everything I have tried from the menu, from the tasty food to the well-mixed drinks. Only downside is this place can get seriously PACKED, especially on the weekends. This makes for a very loud and hectic atmosphere and slower, sometimes outright poor, service. I recommend going for lunch or during the early week to avoid the crowds. read more

This is my first 3rd trip here. First 2 excellent. This one? Not do much. Our waiter, Bryant, had the personality of a rock! Service was wonderful. Our waiter Trey was very helpful in selecting drinks and meals when I informed him this was our first visit. The family and I had different meal selections, but every one of them looked delicious. The Wisconsin cheese bites (I could have eaten those all night)... very satisfied family. Always the best food that I have come to know.. Everything I have ever ordered from this place is always fabulous... The staff is always friendly and nice... My favorite is the Fried Catfish.. I have eaten a lot of fried catfish in my time and this place has the best. Also the Tarter sauce (which I'm not a fan of tarter sauce) IS THE BEST THING EVER. Its not the mayonnaise bottled junk everyone else serves. I think they make it from scratch because its out of this world... And the prices are always reasonable. Not impressed at all. I ordered the Blackened Catfish. No black at all but they might as well have poured the whole salt shaker on it. It was not edible. So I got our waitress that must be pissed at someone or something maybe having to work on Sat on a holiday weekend and when I told her how salty it was she couldn't have cared less, she took it back to the kitchen. When I finally got my plate again my husband had been finished for sometime...at one point she even asked if he was finished and never said one word about my meal before she brought it out. On June 19th, 2017 My wife, and two daughters went to Cheddar's in Beaumont off I-10 for an early dinner. I can't really say anything either way about the food; I ordered The Original Burger and it was fine. The only thing that was shocking to us was when a server delivered chicken strips to our table to my youngest daughter, before she realized it wasn't what she ordered we'd all grabbed a french fry off her plate. Then the server came by and quickly grabbed the plate and moved to the correct table next to us, leaving the honey mustard dip. We were in shock and afraid to make a sound. A few minutes later the table next to us was asking the server for honey mustard. It was something else! So, yes, it appears service here is hit or miss - food was mid-range to decent with a neutral rating. read more
