It's a running joke that the name of this place is so long, I intentionally botch it up. Nedlico, Nederland's, Nordstrom's, Novorodo, Nanunanu . . . what IS the name of this place, anyway? Whatever its name, this is the place where The Girl wanted to eat to celebrate her first day of school. It's a L Family tradition. And we drove straight from the local high school up to Novrozsky's. Novrozsky's is a spacious place with a surprisingly large menu. It goes beyond hamburgers to tacos, seafood, chicken fried steak, etc. And we got a good sampling: I had a chili burger, the Hunny had a stuffed baked potato, and the Girl had chicken fried steak. For me, the chili burger took me back to a mountain restaurant at 7,000 feet in the Sierra Nevadas. I had just backpacked for two days and one night and was pretty tired, so I got a chili burger. It had more on it and the chili had more flavor than Novrozsky's. But the patty was more substantial at Novrozsky's. You'll still need a knife and fork, though. I think the Hunny & Girl liked theirs, although they needed to get a to-go box for theirs. The people who worked there were enjoying themselves, and wanted us to enjoy ourselves too. The debit/credit card reader wasn't working well, but they got things to work out with little time wasted. Peculiar to the early `20s, there was a small sign on the door saying that masks are required, but no one eating there - or working there - was wearing one. Nearly everyone in Southeast Texas has blown off this scam. So, this place is not exactly fast food, and its prices are a little higher, but this is a case of you getting what you pay for. Hubby and I were on a road trip and going through town for the first time. We had never heard of Novrozsky's and decided to give it a try. The staff is nice. The food was average to slightly below average especially for the price. Both of our hamburger buns were VERY burnt making them have a nasty taste. The burger patties were also very dry. Basically, we've had much better and we've had much worse. I highly doubt we will ever return to this restaurant. We are not local to this restaurant. Saw a billboard in LA saying that this place has the best burgers in Louisiana. So we found one to try and it was in Texas. And it offered not just hamburgers! Tacos, country fried steak, chicken tenders, spuds, salads, seafood, deli sandwiches, and more. Cashier was friendly. Gave me a cup for water & husband got medium drink - self serve & free refills. We both got chicken fried steak, but I got the sandwich & he got the meal (mine on Texas toast & his with Texas Toast & fries for a dollar more). Bill was under $20 for lunch. This is not fast food. That's a good thing. Neither meal tasted as if it was thrown together. It was served hot, on real plates with real utensils. My sandwich had a little too much "spiced just right" breading, and I peeled away what was just breading. Part of it was chewy, but was delicious. The French fries were crispy & had a golden sheen. What I ordered: Marinated chicken plate that comes with a green leaf salad and grilled onions. Also a cheeseburger and fries. What I got: The highly charred remains of a sad chicken who apparently did someone very wrong in its short life. A few strings of burger topping lettuce with tomatoes and onions that look like my fingers and toes after I forget I've been in the pool for way too long! A burger they decided to send to satan for a tasting because a piece is missing and it's burned worse than the chicken that had a bad life! Despite this, what's funny is somehow the meat was all cold, lol, how does that happen?! Maybe the team feels like it is safer to bask the food in the flames of hell first and then freeze it so we don't burn our tongues. That was sweet of them! Thank you. All jokes aside, it was a bit sad, this location has been going downhill it seems and I'm hoping this may help them improve because other Novrozsky's locations are quite different and consistent. I have now ordered 2 times from this place. BOTH times were fast friendly and great food!! This is a great place for the price and taste of the food! We are visiting from out of state but will eat more from here until we leave in a few days! I am so glad that I did not go by the reviews who were negative. I have no idea why people these days complain so much about everything. why not try to be kinder and see what happens? The people are nice, but the service and the food was pretty disappointing. They had a hard time taking our order, and we practically had to yell for them to hear us. The serving size of sweet potato fries was small for $3.50, plus they were cold. My burger was over cooked and dry. They got my wife's order wrong and added the condiments she told them to keep off. One word to sum it up: AWESOME! I had the fried mushrooms and avocado burger; my hubby had the chicken tenders which we were informed that they have "the bomb" chicken tenders when I called in to place the order. They also have a drive thru to pick up your phone in orders. read more

Novrozsky's is a solid option for a descent burger and some fries. I got a cheeseburger, fully dressed, and some curly cheese fries with cheese. The burger was tasty, but not over the top and the cheese fries were good, but the melted cheese atop had cooled and hardened by the time I got the order. BOTTOM LINE: Probably hit or miss on the overall burger quality, but generally speaking, I would rate Novs as marginally better than the other big name fast food burger joints. read more

Food is decent but the place is run down and dirty. When I complained via email, The "new" owner, Bill, told me he was going to remodel and even build a patio. That was two years ago. Nothing has changed other than its even dirtier and more run down. Save your money and dine somewhere else. The burger was great. Got the Egg Burger with avocado and bacon. (Anything with bacon is amazing.) The service was unorganized which led to a very lengthy wait for an order that was called in 20 minutes earlier, but my big beef was with the fries. My husband stood there and waited for them to come out freshly made. They were hot...and also flacid and greasy. My dog who will eat anything spit 3 different fries out 3 different times. Would not eat it. (Me either). I finally threw them away. Crank up your frier heat so they cook crispier and still cook in the middle. It's called just a tip. read more

Great food in my opinion, a little pricey but worth it. The service however is terrible, we walked into to some woman just staring at us blankly before slouching on the counter. No hello, no how are you, no what can I get you. The wear and tear on the seats and what not is becoming pretty clear, try another location, it's definitely not Novrosky's as a whole. After working all day I decided to place a call-in order to Novrozsky's for Waitr to deliver. My order was made wrong and incomplete. When I call to resolve the issue the Novrozsky's employee told me they would remake my cheese fries (this time with cheese) then proceeded to ask me when I would be coming to pick them up. After paying in excess of $36.00 for a meal for two I was told I would have to drive to the store to get what I paid for. Completely unacceptable. I contacted Waitr and after threatening them with legal action (small claims court documented for social media) the reluctantly gave me a full refund. I personally know both owners Dave Jones and Bill Cardin and I can tell you for certain they would not be happy with the service (or lack thereof) by their staff. read more

If there was a negative rating system this location would definitely win the prize. Manager of the store extremely rude. I came back to give them a second chance and my order still wasn't right and the manager told me there was nothing she could do after I told her it was the second time. Stopped here for lunch in Jan. '15 and found the service and cleanliness to be very good. It's an older building, but it is well kept and even smelled clean. The hickory burger was much better than the typical fast food burger. I'll stop again. read more
