It was between OutBack or Cheddar's and my friend and I chose Cheddars and it was a great choice. Although the food was a bit on the colder side the service made up for the experience. Our waiter Kumarami was super friendly and was always checking up on us. Another note staff seemed happy and cheerful although it was the end of the night making it a plus. I have been to this restaurant quite a few times and it is always jam packed. Tonight was no exception. On top of the crowd it was also pouring down raining. what made tonight unusually special is that I noticed some of the staff walking people to their cars with umbrellas. also, despite of the crowd, my food was fresh and cooked perfectly. our waitress, jorden, was patient, efficient, and kind. We even stayed about 30 minutes after we paid the bill. She had no quarrels. I had the chicken strips meal...plenty to take home. Great food, great drinks, great staff. We sat at the bar and told the bartender that we were in a rush as we were going to a movie. She said no problem and that she'd get our food out as quickly as possible. We had our food and drinks very quickly and were able to make the movie on time. The only reason why I gave 4 stars is because the bar top was dirty and sticky. We asked for it to be cleaned off which they did, but it still wasn't pleasant to sit down and get our arms stuck in the goo first. I will return again due to the great food and service. read more

I'm so confused about the negative reviews. The food is literally dirt cheap lol... People want to pay nothing and get the best food they've ever had. I had the chicken and shrimp combo platter and it was bomb. Best chicken strips ever. My friend had the catfish platter and it was so much catfish given the price. The drinks were really good and strong. We both had a Texas size tea with a shot of henny and it was really good. I'm not giving 5 stars because when I ordered spinach dip they had run out and that upset me . Otherwise the food was good( given the price) and the drinks were quite potent ( given the price). I read other reviews that complained about poor service and my experience was the complete opposite. We went on Friday evening and we were told the wait would be about 25-30 minutes but it was only about a 10-15 minute wait. Our waitress came over immediately and she was kind and took our order, she made suggestions on what to try and she even made small talk with my toddler. She checked on us frequently even though we could see how busy she was, we didn't feel like she was rushing and our food was out quickly. They give you a good portion of food and it was pretty good. We had the onion rings for appetizer, the chicken quesadillas, the New Orleans pasta and the maple bacon chicken sandwich and everything was pretty tasty. Oh but when the bill came we were so happy, this place is CHEAP but the quality of the food was extremely good and did not lack. I will definitely go back! The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was because there were a lot of mosquitoes in there! I am between 2 or 3 stars. Service was great! Our food took about 40 minutes to come out but our waiter made up for it. The manager even came out to let us know what the hold up was about. So, I was very pleased with service in general. The food was were I was disappointed. It appears that most ingredients are of poor quality. I tried the spinach dip which was really good. I also ordered the fried chicken and was shocked when the chicken came out boneless. The menu should state that the chicken is boneless. My mashed potatoes tasted as if they added horse radish, which would have been fine it I was pairing it with steak. My friend had the catfish which was the best component of all the dishes. It was crisp and well seasoned, no sauce needed. It paired well with the baked sweet potato. I would come back, but only for the catfish. To avoid the crowd and long delay, I arrived at Cheddars as they were opening. I was able to walk right in and be seated. The staff was very friendly and professional. The decor was warm and inviting. The Chicken and Waffles were served hot, seasoned and delicious. The price was unbelievable for the portion of food I received. Let me start with the wait time. 35+.. we decided to seat in the pubs table by the bar, Dirty table, took approximately 15 minutes to cleaned it up, around 15+ to bring two Long Island that was already "Pre-made". Sheesh they taste liked lemonade with a drop of cheap vodka. Well the food arrived as the same time of the drinks, the pasta was dried.... I gave 3 because I'm a nice and fair person. What an experience. The greeters were prompt and quickly greeted us and got us to a table. That is were anything timely stopped. Our waitress took 8 mins to get to our table, by then we were ready to order our drinks and food. Our drinks from the bar took 10.mins to be made and sat on the edge of the bar for another 5 before they were delivered to our table. We were seated in the bar and could see where the bartenders were making the drinks and wait staff picked them up. When our main course arrived, wait only 1 of our two meals arrived... it took another 9 mins for anyone to notice we only had one meal, and another 10 to sort out where it was. When the second meal arrived the order was listed as a Salmon, even though it was ordered as a blacked Salmon. The wait staff once it was removed stated the manager said their blacked Salmon only has black seasoning on it.. Funny since it wasn't seasoned at all, not did the check reflect that it was suppose to have black seasoning on it. The item was removed, but you would think when 3 tables out of the 7 in my line of sight sent something back to the kitchen the manager would come talk to at least one of them. Seem like it comes down to poor management, poor staff and a poorly managed kitchen. I would suggest spending time else where. The reviews stand behind this, I wish I would have read them before walking in the door and ordering. I just went on past experiences in another location, and walked in, WOW that was a mistake. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!!! MANAGEMENT, I DO NOT EVEN THINK IT IS WORTH YOUR TIME TO RESPOND, unless you are going to tell me thank for being honest, and fix YOUR problems. read more

This restaurant can basically be summed up by a visit we had here a few weeks ago with my grandmother who was 93 years old at the time. We took her to lunch at Chedda'rs, since it's one of the closest restaurants to our house. After walking in and sitting down, she announced that she had been here before "a few years ago". We were new to the area and she had certainly NEVER been here before. But that's pretty much Cheddar's- you'll get a sense of deja vu, and you'll feel like you've been there before, even if you haven't. It's all pretty generic and feels like one of the major chains- food, menu, etc- even though it's not. The hostess was a very nice young lady and our service was great, problem is - I don't remember his name - but he was worth a 25% tip. I ordered the sweet tea and it was sweet tea, not Diabetes in a glass, but sweet enough to satisfy the taste buds. I liked Cheddar's when it was new. I love their Texas Tea but they limit you to two smh. The onion rings are great but everything else is on the same level as Applebee's, Friday's and Ruby Tuesdays. This place is very busy usually. Expect it to be very loud. Our server (Raven) was excellent. She had a beautiful smile and was very helpful. Matter of fact, she was gorgeous. She checked on us constantly throughout our meal and made sure we were happy with everything. Considering that the last two times we went there the service was terrible, we were pleasantly surprised. Nothing like the little hostess who, when we walked in just looked at us and said nothing. I had to finally say Hello twice to make her acknowledge us at all. The food is just ok though. Depends on what you have. Drinks are cheap compared to most places. Do not order the Wedding Cake drink though. It looks pretty in the picture but tastes awful. And it did not come with all the bells and whistles in the picture. Had to send it back. The green beans are sweet, which was strange. The honey butter croissants are the BEST! Don't knock the chain but considered the reviews for this location. I absolutely looove Cheddars. I lived in Dallas, Texas for five years and Cheddars was my favorite restaurant. Great food for a very cheap price. I grieved Cheddars when I relocated to the DC area. I used to drive to York, PA (70miles) away just to eat Cheddars. Yes thats how much I love this place. So when i discovered that Cheddars would be in the DC/MD metro area I was ecstatic. But was soon disappointed by the elevated prices (prices are more expensive here than other Cheddars restaurants) and the horrible service. I agree with everyone that the service is not good and the wait time is unbearable. I hope they get better but this was my spot! read more
