Waldo's in Camp Springs? Let's talk about it. I originally ordered my food to go, but everything looked and smelled so good that I ended up staying and eating there. First of all, the service was FAST. My food was out before I even realized it was ready. I got the Fowl Mouth chicken sandwich and it was delicious. The habanero oil and jalapeño slaw gave it the perfect kick without being too much. And the shoestring fries? Don't let them fool you. They might look like they don't have much seasoning on them, but they are seasoned perfectly. Now the lemonade? Listen, I KNOW my lemonade, and this was literally some of the best I've ever had. No pulp, not overly sweet, just perfectly balanced and GOOD. I also noticed they have collard greens and mac and cheese. Normally, those aren't sides I'd even entertain ordering from a chicken spot like this but based on how good everything else was, I'm absolutely trying them next time. We decided that we wanted to try this restaurant, as this chain is new to this area. We ordered almost every type of entree and side on the menu. First off, the restaurant was very airy and open, with a variety of seating options. The staff were friendly and accommodating but understaffed. We spent a while looking over the menu, which was misleading. We wanted to order fried wings, which we later discovered that the wings don't come crispy fried, however if you get the 1/2 or 1/4 chicken or the [adult] tenders, you are in for a treat. Regarding the sides, the ranking would be: cucumber/tomato salad, collard greens, fried pickles, French fries and a distant last, the Mac and cheese. The Mac and Cheese was too cheesy, with no seasoning, however the French fries were very well seasoned. The wings were not fried but were very good for a baked wing. The cheese muffin was underwhelming. That recipe should be revisited. Beverages were a hit! The iced tea and lemonade were great together but also independently. We also enjoyed the "fruit tea", but wanted to know what the "fruit" in the tea actually was :) The bar has the $5 slushes, which were great options if you like Tequila or Vodka. I had taken the Metro to Branch Ave and had a little wait for my ride to pick me up, so I walked over here. It was about a 10-minute walk. This restaurant has a ton of parking in the strip mall where it is located. The restaurant also has a huge dining area, a full bar with seating, and televisions all around. You will find some outdoor patio seating on the side of the restaurant, which is a perfect place to dine on a nice day. It almost has a sports bar kind of feel. It was very clean, and the staff was really friendly and helpful. They have chicken tenders, fried chicken, wings, salads, mac and cheese, and chicken sandwiches. They have an assortment of sauces to go with the chicken. As an added bonus, they have maratitsa and frozen drinks to go with their adult beverages. I got the 4 chicken tender plate with a side of fries. Of course, I had to get the spiked frozen strawberry lemonade. It took about 10 minutes for me to get my food, and it was fresh and hot. It was very delicious. The tenders were up there with some of the best I have had. The fries were really good too. The frozen lemonade was small, but refreshing and really hit the spot. Stopped in on a Thursday evening for a bite to eat. We decided to dine in as there was plenty of seating. There are alcoholic beverage options if you choose to sit and watch sports on one of the many mounted televisions. The young lady who took our order was very helpful and had positive energy. This location also offers a military discount with appropriate identification. There wasn't a long wait from ordering to receiving our food. Of note, I asked for some barbecue sauce on the side, and it is not complimentary; it was $0.49 for a small serving. The fries were skinny and tasted just fine, but I prefer my fries thicker cut with some body to them. The wings served are party wings and appeared to have been snatched off a Cornish hen! The lemon pepper rub was generous and tasted fine. For $3.99, I anticipated the size of the lemonade to be larger than the kids' meal cup I received. Totally understand that prices are rising everywhere but for the amount charged vs what was received, it'll take a lot for me to come back and patronize this location. The invasion of chicken places continues to grow and has reached the Camp Springs area. This is a chain and located mainly throughout the south. In fact, it kind of reminds me of a place called Champy's World Famous Fried Chicken. We decided to check this place out after passing it literally every time coming from work. It is located across from the Spot Food Hall, so parking is no issue. Our visit took us on a mid-afternoon and as soon as I entered, I noticed that everyone that was there was at the bar. Not judging but immediately you get this vibe, this is a spot where people come to have a few drinks. Hey, across the street is the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services so it makes sense that you see a few having drinks under this administration. The place was clean and as soon as we picked out our seats we were greeted. Customer service was pretty good throughout the whole process. Remember when I said I passed this place every day coming from work. Well, I have not stopped back there since my first and only visit. I am not knocking on the food totally as if it was horrible, but it was nothing that made me want to return. They have their own version of what I can best say Zaxby's sauce. Maybe if they have a happy hour, I might join the folks at the bar. I went with the combo known as the tender box that came with fries, slaw, toast, and a drink. The fries were ehh and the tenders were just ok. The tenders were just not juicy and seemed to be a bit overcooked. Shocked that I waited this long to know and try this establishment. Went on a Monday and was greeted with the most soulful and animated karaoke I have ever witnessed. Entertainment and good food were surrounding me. I ordered the 1/4 white rotisserie chicken with Mac and cheese and greens. The sides stole the show as the Mac with all white cheeses was tasty and the greens I would pass off as my own for my next holiday dinner hehe. My work colleagues will tell you, that 99% of the time I "brown bag" my lunch. Partly because I think my lunches taste better, but also cuz I don't think the value proposition for dining out is worth it anymore. Within a 10 minute driving radius of the office, there are a plethora of fast food options (McDonald's, Popeye's, Subway, etc.), fast casual joints like Chipotle, Panera, etc., and a fairly large food court/hall. Meh...I'll pass on all those choices. Waldo's Chicken and Beer recently opened up near me, and on the rare occasion that I decide to eat out or more likely, forgot to pack a meal, this place will be in my regular rotation of lunch spots. Waldo's is a rapidly growing national chain - https://waldoschicken.com/visit - in the ever expanding chicken segment of the restaurant industry. They are primarily in the Southeast, but the location in Camp Springs, MD (a few steps from the Branch Ave Metro) represents their most Northerly expansion. Seems like a trivial thing, but I always appreciate when there is ample parking, which Waldo's has being located in the Restaurant Row Apollo shopping center. Walking in, I immediately notice all of the eclectic artwork on the walls, which are illuminated by copious amounts of natural lighting from the wall-to-floor windows throughout the dining room. Order at the register for in-person dining; the text on the digital menu boards are kind of small, so thankfully there are laminated menus for easier reading. If I'm dining out at a chicken place, I'm not opting for the "sensible" rotisserie style...no, I'm going with the "unhealthy" deep fried stuff. The few times I've been, I'll order either a 3 or 4 piece chicken tender box. The chicken has a nice fry without being overly greasy, and the breading is crispy without being too thick. TBH, I do find the seasoning to be a bit too salty...and this is coming from a person who typically enjoys aggressively seasoned food. Two dipping sauces come with an order. The cream based dips have been kind of a disappointment. I've found them to be a bit watered down or oddly, too "milk" tasting. Stick with the mustard based sauces. Shoe string fries are good and stay crisp even after 10-15 minutes at the table. I think I like the seasoned potato wedges more. I was dining with a few co-workers so we got an order for the cheddar biscuits for the table. They're tasty and come with a side of honey butter. I'm sure my recent lunch exceeded the recommended 1,500 calorie count for the day...but since I'm not eating like this often, I'll enjoy the indulgence. Listen... when I tell you all that Waldo's has me in a chokehold, I mean it. I have been there THREE days in a row, and at this point they might as well give me my own booth with my name on it. First of all, the customer service is top tier. On Day 1, we had Sim, and she broke that menu DOWN like she wrote it herself. She knew every item, every sauce, every detail. She had me ordering like I was preparing for a food review show. Day 1 lineup: * The blue chicken salad with rotisserie chicken -- fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. * One quarter fried chicken with collard greens and those fresh-cut fries. * A kids meal with tenders and mac and cheese for my granddaughter. Now let me pause right here... that mac and cheese? BABY. My granddaughter talked about it so much that I told my cousins, and then they wanted some. So guess what? Day 2, we pulled up again. Day 2: * The same fried chicken for me, collard greens, mac and cheese, and onion rings. * The onion rings were not for me, but everything else was excellent. * And then came the banana pudding. I have NEVER -- and I mean NEVER -- had banana pudding like that. I almost needed a moment to myself. Visited this restaurant on 11/5/25 and I believe this is their second day open. When you arrive, you order your food, you're given a number, you find a seat, and they bring your food to you. The restaurant is clean and has a lot of indoor seating. It also appears that they will have outdoor seating at some point. I ordered the 1/4 chicken (dark) plate, which comes with 2 sides and choice of sauces. The 1/4 dark was a large thigh which was well seasoned (I think they said they brine the chicken). For sides, I chose fries (which were like shoestring fries and seasoned well) and collard greens (which tasted better than ok, had small bits of meat, but had too many stalks). I came with 4 others who had chicken tenders (said they were good), the OG chicken sandwich, and banana pudding (I heard good things about it and hope to try it next time). I also had the jalapeño ranch (ranch with a very slight kick) and Kingsbury "comeback" sauce (which tasted like honey mustard and something). Both were good! Currently, they are still awaiting a liquor license but I can see this being a popular bar setting when that happens. Waldo's is a Nashville, Tennessee franchise business. It's a welcome addition to the Camp Springs area. The chicken is cooked fresh. They don't use frozen meat. You order when you walk in the door. The team is happy and ready to help out with your needs. Then you receive a number then sit down to receive your food whether you are eating in or doing takeout. I enjoy the chicken strips basket that includes two sides and a beverage. They also have several different flavors of dipping sauces that are all tasty. The interior is bright, has a bar, and several tvs with different sporting events on each. My favorite drink is the frozen cocktails for $5! There is a frozen margarita and a second flavor that rotates week to week. The flavor I enjoyed the best is the strawberry lemonade drop. Waldo's is still within its first 6 months. We stopped in to place a to-go order and waited for it to be ready. The 2 stars is for the 2 things that were positive: customer service and cleanliness. However, the food, which is the most important part, was just not enjoyable for me. We ordered the tender fingers basket, which is 6 tenders plus 2 sides (we chose collard greens and fries) and a cheddar biscuit. Since this was a first visit and also being shared, I also ordered an additional side of Mac and cheese and a banana pudding. The issue was how salty the food was. Yikes! I could not even eat beyond one tender and a forkful of the sides. Interestingly, the cheddar biscuit was more sweet than savory. Didn't notice until I got home that there were no sauces despite selecting two. Disappointing experience for me but others will enjoy the things I didn't like. My experience was pretty decent,I like the fact that they had multiple T.V 's. It wasn't a wide variety of drinks but it was due to the restaurant just opening the waiter did inform us that they were receiving a shipment at the end of the week. The only thing good about this place was the DJ and the young lady at the counter who took my order...the wings were disgusting. They lacked flavor and since when does extra crispy mean rubbery? The comeback sauce needs to leave and never comeback. A mix of mayo vinegar and cayenne pepper. Ugh!! The $5 spiked slushies were nothing special. Thankfully it was just $5 which was $4 too much. Ordered here for the 1st time and I must say the food (roasted,fried chicken and sides) were tasty. However, I did not received the full 1/4 dark rotisserie chicken. Once I noticed the issue I called to explain that the thigh was cut in half and was told ( by a manager, I guess) that this was not possible and to expect the rotisserie chicken to be smaller because it's cut. Technically, I was to receive a leg and thigh(should be leg&one thigh), which I can understand that roasted chicken can be smaller; I buy them from the grocery store all the time, but this thigh was indeed cut in half. There was not even a second bone attached. Next time, I will definitely order a half of rotisserie chicken to not get cheated. If you come on Sunday there is no one on the counter someone was actually eating sitting behind the counter where you couldn't see. Ask if I needed help I was confused cuz soon to eating and have a drink yet asking me if I needed help and they're not even near the front they're in the very back I had to walk behind the counter to where people ate to see what's going on. I waited for like 5 minutes and nobody was at the front but I saw people eating I was like what's going on. However the food is delicious especially the muffins you have to try it! read more

I paid for my order on line and when I tried to pick it up, I was told by an employee (older white woman with facial scars and heavy makeup). I have picked up my order several times and never been told to prove that I had paid for the meal. She then explained that they had been robbed by people picking up orders they had not paid for. I told her that a robber could not provide my name for pick up. I was dressed professionally as I was coming from work. I did not fit the profile of a robber.
